A 41-year-old man who was purportedly cycling along the road of Seletar North Link, allegedly lost control of his bicycle and fell on his head face down.

He was conveyed to the hospital unconscious and subsequently pronounced dead, with a spokesperson for the police saying that he had died of “natural causes”.

The incident happened on 22 March, and the SCDF said that they received a call for help at about 9.55pm, and the man was taken to Sengkang General Hospital unconscious.

The police also said that they received a call for help at about 10.06pm.

A Facebook user, Terry Lim, shared about the incident on the Singapore Cycling Community Facebook page:

“Please be extra careful when cycling along the road of Seletar North Link. There are gravels along the stretch of road due to heavy construction tucks travelling along this route in recent years.

A tragedy happened on Tuesday night at 9.50pm where a cyclist lost his control and fell on his head face down.

The casualty passed away from the fall.

The Causeway was visibly jammed with heavy traffic on 3 April, which is the first Sunday since the land borders between Malaysia and Singapore were reopened fully.

The majority of the travellers returning to Singapore are purportedly Malaysians who are returning to work.

The heavy jam reportedly lasted until around 10.30pm, with the Causeway packed in its entirety, according to 8world.

A Facebook user, Teo Pc, also posted a photo of the heavy jam from what appears to be his window, as he captioned:

“Causeway finally busy again with the car horns noise. Saw many cars coming to Singapore.”

8World reported that the Causeway was less crowded in the evening, with no more than 10 cars being seen.

While over at Tuas Checkpoint, the situation was in stark contrast to the Woodlands Checkpoint, as there were very few cars seen crossing.

A 41-year-old Grabfood delivery rider was arrested after allegedly punching a taxi driver who had honked at him, and fleeing.

The taxi driver, 59-year-old Mr Lin Qing Hui, was punched in the face thrice and once on the waist – the alleged attacker later returned about 10 minutes to apologise to the taxi driver and was subsequently arrested.

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, Lin said that he was driving along Choa Chu Kang Crescent at about 5pm, when the Grabfood rider abruptly switched lanes and almost collided with his car.

Lin then honked at the rider, who then responded by pointing a middle finger at him.

The victim then honked at him again, and the rider then stopped in front of his taxi, got off his bike and approached the car.

Lin had thought that the rider wanted to talk to him so he winded down his window, but the rider then suddenly punched him thrice in the face.

The taxi driver then fell onto the passenger seat and the rider then punched him in his waist.

The incident took place opposite Block 666 Choa Chu Kang Crescent, at the bus stop nearby, and was witnessed by a passerby.

The passerby then called the police, and the rider then fled the scene, riding off on his motorcycle.

The rider later returned about 10 minutes later to apologise to the victim and the police were already on site.

Lin said that the rider wanted to apologise to him but he said there was no need, telling him to explain himself to the police instead.

Lin was conveyed to the hospital following the incident and is now recovering at home, and his face was still swollen when he spoke to Shin Min.

The 41-year-old delivery rider was arrested for public nuisance.
