NUH RESPONDS TO PREGNANT WOMAN WHO LOST BABY AFTER WAITING 2 HRS

The National University Hospital has responded with a statement to an incident where a pregnant woman was made to wait for 2 hours at an emergency department and ended up losing her baby.

NUH’s CEO, professor Aymeric Lim, said on 24 March that the woman was admitted to the emergency department on 15 March at about 10.35pm for bleeding and was attended to immediately.

She was noted to be stable and that he bleeding had subsided whilst en route to the hospital.

Lim added that her vital signs were normal and even though she said that she was having pain, her pain score was assessed as 2/10 by the nurses.

He added that the emergency department was experiencing a high patient load at the time and she was placed next to the nursing station to monitor her.

Lim said that patients who are in labour are admitted to the labour ward upon admission, but as she was in early labour, they had arranged to transfer her to the labour ward ASAP because it was full at the time.

Lim added that “we are sorry” that she waited for 2 hours and “this should not have been th3e case in this circumstance”.

He said that “we should have done more to provide closer monitoring and care and to update the patient of her condition and the transfer”.

She was immediately attended to at the labour ward and cared for by 2 senior consultants.

Lim also said that at the moment, all pregnant woman over 36 weeks who are Covid positive are admitted to the three public hospitals for care and delivery, and he said that it has been “challenging to maintain the hospital’s high standards for care amidst the Covid outbreak.

He added that they will “review the process” of managing pregnant patients admitted into the emergency department so such incidents do not happen again.

He also added that they are “deeply saddened” by the family’s loss.

PARENTS CALLED SON A “CREEP”, CRIES NON STOP AND HASN’T BEEN THE SAME

0

My brother is 15, my sister is 17, and I’m 23f. This is really stupid and it shouldn’t have happened but it did. Now I just want advice on how to make it better. Also this is the story my brother told me as I wasn’t there.

He was in his room playing on his phone minding his own business. He got up to take out the trash. He came back to lay down im his bed. As he was laying down he noticed there dog walking out of his room. He ignored it.

Later on his sister 17 noticed clothes were missing. She went looking for it and found it in my brothers room. The problem was that is was wet and slimy. She immediately told our parents and they thought the worse. My dad, mom, and brother argued about it.

Rude things were said. Apparently mom said I knew you were weird but not this weird. My dad said I raised a predator. In the end my parents asked me to pick him up and let him stay with me for a couple of days. When I picked him up he didn’t say anything and just sat in silence.

He spent the entire time in the room he was staying in. He only came out for dinner. He skipped breakfast and lunch. His eye’s were always red when he came out so I assume he was crying. I’ve never seen him cry. Most of the time when he’s upset he just has a stone face so what they said must have got to him.

Finally at the end of the week he’s parents called me and said they wanted to talk to him so they came over. Before they came over I tried to talk to him but he ignored me. When parents came they apologised to him. Over the week they noticed more of sister clothes in his room until one day my dad caught the dog with my sister clothes.

My brother just said okay and went home. I tried to ask my parents if he could stay longer but they said that wouldn’t be necessary. Later on I got a call asking me what did he do over my house because he’s just been in his room all day at there house. Is there anything I can do to help him feel better?

Advice would be greatly unappreciated.

Edit little update:Good news. He can stay with me until Sunday. I had to lie a little to parents to get him to come. I told them he should get out the house because he spends most of his day sitting in one spot with online school.

They didn’t believe me a first but I said it would be a chance to get him out his room. They finally agreed. He was about to go to sleep so I came just in time. I think the plan right now is to just spent time with him this week. I’m broke so it’s gonna be mostly home stuff.

I tried to talk to him on the car ride. I asked him if he’s okay. He said he’s fine and we had a little conversation about his school. So at least he’s talking now. He’s in the spare room so everything is okay right now.

HUSBAND KEEPS THAI BABY GHOST AMULET, WIFE HAIR PULLED AT NIGHT

0

My husband has been keeping this Thai amulet and it is really causing me some problems.

First, he brought it home gave it offerings and etc and I was not too bothered about it, he started giving candies, toys, milk and some other stuff. I did not say a word as he believes strongly in this.

After a month went by my lazy husband stopped giving offerings and stopped his daily routine, he only gives it when he remembers. He said that he is not offering because he did not win the 4D.

I got fed up with him and told him that if everyone in Singapore gets a Khun Maang tong amulet then the whole of Singapore would be full of billionaires. I told him, if he’s not going to do it religiously then he should return the amulet back to the temple. He agreed and said he will bring it back to the temple the next day.

That very night, while I was sleeping I dream of a small boy who is crying and looked at me with hate in the eyes, and continues to cry non-stop and I woke up in pain as if someone pulled my hair very hard.

I woke up my husband and asked if he played a prank on me but he was too drunk to wake up. So I went to the living room and on the lights and sit there from 4am till morning. Lucky it was Sunday and I did not need to work.

After I told my husband what happened he immediately drive to the temple and left the amulet there.

I am wondering is there anything else I need to do, to make sure my home is clean.

Can anyone advice?

MY GF GAINED 30KG, AND MY “LITTLE BROTHER” IS NOT RESPONDING

0

We started dating 2 years ago (pre-pandemic) and instantly hit it off. My GF was super sweet, drop-dead gorgeous, and full of life. She regularly worked out and did dance and ballet to be in good shape. I was immensely attracted to her. I was also fit and stayed in shape until this day.

Over the past two years she has gained so much weight she is now clinically obese. Completely let herself go. She doesn’t do anything except sit in her room and cuddle with our cat (we do not live together currently).

She hates to go to the gym, she hates going for walks and the only activity she wants to do is eating food. She hates doing all the things even a year ago we used to do all the time. She lives a completely sedentary lifestyle and stuffs her face.

I’ve tried talking to her about it but she lashes out defensively. We discussed the issue in couples therapy, the therapist says I have to give up control. That I can’t control what she does.

So here we are. I’m in love with my obese gf that struggles to breathe at rest, that stuffs her face and does nothing but sit on her ass. Her attempts at dieting have failed, and she goes to the gym once or twice before reverting to her lazy lifestyle.

During bedtime, I had a hard time getting my little brother to work as my 2nd brain is telling me that I am about to enter a piece of meatloaf. Even if it finally got up, i will fake that I finished and tell her i have premature problems. Since I’m wearing a rubber and quickly runs to the toilet. she does not know

There’s nothing I can do about it I just needed to vent.

Here is what netizens think:

I get feeling concerned when you SO gains a lot of weight. I work in medicine and frankly obesity is unforgiving, it changes so many physiological processes and can lead to many chronic diseases. It’s not an inert condition. However, the fact that her mental health and the medicine is a footnote in the complaint of his main pejorative, which is not being attracted to her…tells me he doesn’t understand what’s going on at all. He should leave for both their sakes.

He shouldn’t have used those words. I agree. But it’s clear that he’s actually feeling that way, and that’s ok. He’s talking about it and trying to figure out what to do. It’s a harsh thing to say, but he’s not in the wrong for feeling those things. He can’t change if something repulses him. Weight is absolutely a boundary for me. I cannot be physically attracted to someone who’s overweight. If this happened in my relationship, I would be struggling with those exact same feelings. I would be repulsed by someone I love, and I’d expect my partner to feel the same about me were I to gain a ton of weight too.

Now if this were me, I’d want to work with her and do everything I can to lift her up out of that situation. But it sounds like this isn’t something that’s going to be resolved soon. It sounds like OP needs to walk away and come to terms that it’s ok to do so.

NETIZENS ASK SG GUYS, WHAT THEY LOOK FOR IN A GIRLFRIEND

0

I’m kinda curious about what goes through your heads when you see an ‘attractive’ girl – whatever that means to you. Physical attributes like height or the way she dresses, or non-physical attributes like hobbies, jobs, or things you have in common. Also if things like family, job, income, education or race matter to you.

Also is there a difference in girls you find attractive when walking down the street for example vs girls you want to date and how you want to meet them?

I’m asking because i feel like i’m super disconnected from sg culture and am tryna find someone but i have no idea what guys like or where to even start finding people!! (dating apps aside)

also pls don’t tell me to be myself because that’s clearly not going anywhere rn lmao thanks 🙂 all perspectives r extremely welcome n much appreciated lol

Here are a few interesting comments:

  • Personality is everything to me. I want someone I can talk and laugh with when we are 60+
  • Compatible values & life goals, Intelligence, critical thinking , Similar humour, personality, interests , Physically attractive
  • There was a man who had 3 girlfriends, but he did not know which one to marry. So he decided to give each 1 $5000 and see how each of them spent it. The first 1 went out and got a total makeover with the money. She got new clothes, a new hairdo, manicure, pedicure, the works, and tells the man, “I spent the money so I could look pretty for you because I love you so much.”

The 2nd one went out and bought new golf clubs, a Dvd player, a television, and a stereo and gave them to the man. She said, “I bought these gifts for you with the money because I love you so much.” The 3rd one takes the $5000 and invests it in the stock market, doubles her investment, returns the $5000 to the man and reinvests the rest. She says, “I am investing the rest of the money for our future because I love you so much.”

The man thought hard about how each of the women spent the money. Finally, he decided to marry the one with the biggest tits.

  • I play table tennis, so if she plays the sport it’s a plus. And I feel if the hobby is rarer, the attraction rates go up? HAHAHAHA. I like to collect action figures. If she could participate in a 5 min conversation about it, she’s the most attractive woman in the world to me.
  • I find a girl who can hold her own and always has this “bright spark” aura around herself and her peers very attractive. Can carry a conversation and an infectious positive energy ard her. One more crucial thing would also be how she treats others ard her too. If you ask about physique and looks, a nice smile. 🙂

WIFE OFFERED BY UNDERWEAR COMPANY FOR COLLAB, HUSBAND SAYS NO

0

I’m a content creator for my Instagram and TikTok and I just recently got an email for an underwear brand that I love & wear all the time asking for a collab on my social media platforms.

I’ve always known my husband has always been uncomfortable with me posting anything related to me showing any skin, unless in a swimsuit, but didn’t think it would be too big of a deal considering I would be getting paid for it & getting free underwear from my favourite brand.

I already had accepted the offer and told the brand my sizes and told my husband about it the next morning.

He was upset and frustrated that I had accepted the offer and wasn’t comfortable with modelling in underwear on the internet. I told him that I was going to be getting paid and was only going to be in the underwear for a couple of seconds and that the underwear is very modest and not really revealing.

He still felt uncomfortable and asked me to email the company and tell them that I had changed my mind and don’t want to collaborate. I felt hurt that he didn’t seem to want me to feel comfortable in my postpartum body and be able to accept this brand that I have loved for years.

What should I do?

Here are what netizens think:

  • It would’ve been ideal that you talked about it before speciallysince you knew that he might be uncomfortable, but at the end of the day it is your body and your work, also I dont get why a swimsuit is better than underwear.
  • Relationships are partnerships. Of course you should talk to the other person about important. The only reason you wouldn’t talk about it is if you didn’t respect the other person or the relationship, at which stage you have to ask yourself why are you in the relationship at all.

WOMAN CAUGHT DRUNK BF WITH BFF OF 10 YEARS IN HER OWN BED

0

So…this all started after an amazing day. My bff came over to hang out and meet my boyfriend. A few other friends were over, but they eventually left and it was just us 3 left. This is not an uncommon scenario…this friend and I have known each other for most of our lives, but we got super close 10 years ago when we both were pregnant at the same time.

During part of our friendship, we were both married and would hang out at times almost every day at one of our houses (She is still married. I’m divorced). We also do a lot of joint sleepovers with our kids and have for years because we both have girls of similar ages. Nothing has ever happened with either of us and the other person’s husband or boyfriend. Ever.

This time was different.

We all started drinking. My bf is not a big drinker. My friend is, but she stopped drinking for January and has only drunk a handful of times. I don’t know if that contributed because their tolerance was lower…I don’t know. All I know is we drank a TON of wine.

I woke up on the couch and had a pillow and blanket. I went to my room and my door was locked. I had to kind of break the door handle a bit to open it (luckily it is an older house). When I came in, both my bf and my friend were in the bed together, but on opposite ends, not touching or anything. I thought it was weird that they were both in the bed together and the door was locked, and I wasn’t really sure why it wasn’t both us girls or me and my bf up there. I woke up my bf and asked why I was left on the couch and he said that I had passed out and there was nowhere else for them to sleep, so they both slept in my bed and passed out. He told me to get in the bed with them and I did between them. My friend was still asleep. So I get in between them and then I realize he is in his underwear. I’m like wtf and asked him why he was in his underwear with my friend. He said he always sleeps in his underwear and he was drunk and not thinking.

So, then I kind of lift the covers and see my friend is in her thong. This girl and I have slept together many a time after drinking and she has never slept in a thong. So, I ask him about it and he confesses that they may have fooled around some. So, after about 24 hours of talking about this, processing it, etc, this is what I have been told by my bf:

He says we were all just talking and having a great time when I suggested a threesome. My friend was rubbing on my leg and he said I looked like I was going to make out with her. He said we all started talking about it, and then I got tired and went to sleep. He went and got me a pillow.

He was going to go he said, but my friend told him to go stay in the bed and she would stay on the floor. He told her not to do that, that she should sleep in the bed. He said he had every intention of her sleeping in the bed, and him leaving, but she said she wasn’t ready to go to bed yet, and wanted to drink more wine, so they drank wine and talked.

I don’t know how to continue…

WOMAN NOT HAPPY BECAUSE SHE DOES HOUSEWORK WHILE HUSBAND ONLY SLEEPS

0

A woman shared how she got into a heated argument with her husband because she does all the housework while he only sleeps.

Here is the story:

I and my husband Jim live together and share a 2 yo son. Jim works in retail. I’m applying for a career related to my degree and have 2 part-time jobs.

We make about the same amount and split the bills 50/50. Jim doesn’t have a license, so I drive him to/from work and work around his work schedule so I can be there to drive him.

I do all the housework/family maintenance. All the daily tidying/weekly cleaning. All the laundry, manage the budget. I keep track of when we need to buy stuff or do certain things around the house.

I plan dates, holidays, and family activities. Jim’s parents communicate with me when they want to visit.

I manage our son’s doctor’s appointments and everything. We usually eat out, but at home Jim does the cooking. I do the cleaning.

Today at 9 am I checked in with Jim and asked if he could get up and get our day started around 10a. He said sure.

Jim has been clearing his annual leave and my mother has watched our son a lot so we could run errands or go on dates, so I thought we should spend time with our son today. He agreed. I said I wanted to get a few things done around the house before we left so we could spend the day relaxing. He said he’d help.

I started some tasks and Jim went back to sleep. I said, “You’re not gonna sleep while I do all the work.” I told him he’d been asleep for 12 hours and agreed to get up at 10 am to help me.

He said it was his day off, he can sleep until whenever he wanted. He’s not wrong. He’s an adult. I said I just didn’t want to do all the housework on my own while he slept.

He told me my behavior was disgusting and I was being unattractive. I told him he was lazy. He told me I can’t control him. I agreed, which is why I *asked* for help.

We both went off. I told him if he needs me to run an errand or drive him, I do, but he won’t do the same. He told me I was crazy, freaking out over nothing, nothing needed to get done, I was dramatic for no reason.

During this, I was folding laundry, our son was getting in the way doing normal toddler things. Jim could tell I was getting frustrated and said, “You’re crazy. You need help.” I replied, “Obviously I need help.

You can clearly see me struggling and instead of doing anything, you’re making fun of me. What kind of partner sees someone who they supposedly care about struggle, and instead of helping, they just make fun of them?”

We stopped talking.
