SOFA PAID FOR IN APRIL, WAIT HALF A YEAR HAVEN’T ARRIVE

In April of this year, I ordered a sofa at ION’s Crate&Barrel, paid the full amount, and the sales staff promised to get it in August.

The waiting time of four months is already long, and I asked twice already, and they all said that I could receive it in August.

Who knew I went to ask the specific time again at the end of last month and was told to postpone it to October! I want a refund, but I don’t agree! Such a big company, without credit, overlord clauses, arrogant attitude, and ignoring customers, it is no wonder that the one opposite to 313 has been closed.

Very disappointed!

Now I only hope to receive the sofa after half a year of waiting, but I doubt it! #Crate and Barrel

Not isolated case

Bought something online, and they overcharged the amount, and under-refunded.

When I emailed in, their response was “it’s not us, it’s our payment system merchant”, and the reason for the overcharged was because of ‘cross border transaction’. I used a local credit card, and their payment system merchant was based is US.

When asked the resolution of previous cases with the same issue, they said ‘case-by-case’ basis.

Beware buying online cause they will overcharge and say they can’t resolve it.

XMM USE MAHJONG TILES TO CREATE MODEL OF HOME LIVING SPACE

A netizen who used Mahjong tiles to create a mock up of a home living space has shared her creation on Facebook.

Her mock up is similar to that of a 2 bedder unit with a kitchen, dining area, common toilet and living room.

She even puts in the effort to detail each part of the house and even uses appropriate Mahjong tiles to represent certain living items such as the “white dragon” tile to represent the TV.

HO CHING: MAI KIASU, PLENTIFUL STOCK OF MASKS AVAILABLE

Wife of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Mdm Ho Ching, has posted on her Facebook urging Singaporeans not to be kiasu as there are plenty of masks stockpile available for everyone.

She said that the collection will be ongoing for a month, and encourages everyone to come on the date of their birthday to manage the queue situation and stay safe.

She also urges everyone to be kind to the counter staff, and says that any misbehaviours would be reported to the police.

Here is what she said

“Hello, kiasu Singapore!

There are plenty of stocks for the medical grade masks, so don’t come and Q with your bag and SP bill, unless it is your birthday today, tmrw and this weekend.

This will help reduce the Q and crowd for everyone’s safety!

Temasek Foundation has plenty of stock, and collection is over one month.

Why not make it a birthdate treat to go collect on your birthday, on behalf on your household?

If you are born on 26 of whichever month, come down and collect today.

If you are born on 27 of whichever month, come down and collect tomorrow.

That way, we collectively help to manage the queue – each one make a simple decision to collect on the date of our birthdays.

Sorry, lah, cannot send to your letterboxes, for one practical reason.

Almost all the letterboxes are just a teeny tiny wee bit to small to fit even one box of mask, not to mention 3 boxes!

And folks, be kind to the counter staff – no one, absolutely no one is entitled to lord it over anyone, much less the volunteers manning the distribution counters to help in the fight against Covid.

Any misbehaviours will be reported to the police, whether abusing counter staff or is misusing someone else’s SP bill number.”

UNCLE SCOLD CYCLIST FOR BANGING INTO HIS CAR, LEAVING A DENT

Sometimes driving out of a compound can be dangerous to pedestrians but at the same time, the bicycle that is cycling on the footpath probably did not bother to check if there were vehicles coming out of the compound.

The driver could be seen gesturing and appears to be scolding the cyclist.

The man who witnessed the accident said:

“Witnessed this accident at the main gate of a church in AMK. A cyclist was riding along the pavement while a car emerged out from the church.

Both the driver and the cyclist can’t see each other, and both arrived at the blind spot together. The bicycle crashed into the front left of the car and caused a dent. If the cyclist was riding a little faster, he could be hit by the car instead.

What can be done to avoid similar accidents from happening again in the future? “
