FATHER INSTALLS CAMERA IN LIVING ROOM, DISCOVERS DAUGHTER’S LOVER

0

Married w/ 3 Adult kids. All employed and moved out. Six months ago, 24-year-old single Daughter asked to move back home for a year to help save for an apartment. We agreed and charged her only a small rent (that I planned to give back if she met her savings goals).

My wife and I went on a staycation. My daughter, without our knowledge, held a party at the house. Upon return, we noted items in the house damaged or missing. My daughter admitted to what happened and committed to paying for damaged/stolen items.

I was upset and felt the privacy and sanctity of ‘my castle’ was violated. It made me sick to my stomach that strangers I didn’t know were in my house and pilfered through my stuff. I got over it and we moved on. However, I made it very clear to my daughter that NO VISITORS were allowed in our house in the future unless we were present and/or approved in advance.

Fast Forward to the Holidays. After Christmas, my wife and I went on another 3-day staycation.

Prior to leaving, I installed a wireless ‘nanny-cam’ device in the living room that is hooked up to the internet. I did it on my own without advising my wife and daughter – Kind of like a ‘Trust-but-Verify’ situation.

After a day, I logged into the camera about 9:00 PM and although there wasn’t a party going on, my daughter had a guy in the house engaging in an activity I can’t unsee. I quickly turned the computer off and told my wife…..

She accused me of violating my daughter’s trust and dignity. She immediately called my daughter and advised that I was ‘spying’ on her – and our mini-getaway devolved into a series of mean-spirited comments and silent treatment. Upon our return home, my daughter was in the process of moving out, and without getting into specifics, I’m apparently the equivalent of poop.

In my defense, what I saw for all of 5 seconds was not expected on my part. Our daughter wasn’t in a relationship or even dating. Further, she violated my explicit rule of not having guests over….and there was only a single camera that covered the living room – not an area where there is normally an expectation of privacy.

Although it’s embarrassing all around, I don’t think I am wrong. I believe I was within my rights to protect and surveillance my house in the manner that I did. Wife’s position is that I had no right to put a camera in the living room without her knowledge, and daughter’s position is that if she knew about the camera, she wouldn’t have invited anyone over, but nevertheless believes she did nothing wrong, as she was a rent-paying adult, and was entitled to have a single person over, and what I did was a gross invasion of her privacy.

For the record…I didn’t pass judgment. Daughter is a mature adult and could have engaged in whatever legal activity she chose – Just not in my house involving another person.

So here I am just over a week later, looking for the opinion of strangers on the internet? Am I wrong?

TENANT DEMANDS OWNER TO CHANGE SON’S DIRTY DIAPER

0

After I graduated from university, my parents bought me a fairly sized condominium as a gift. Since I had some extra space and didn’t mind any extra cash, I decided to find a roommate and rent it out for some cash.

My roommate is a friend from school and she has a 6-year-old son. They have been renting for the past 4 years.

She goes out 2-3 times a month and asks me to babysit since the regular babysitter, that comes 6 days a week, doesn’t work on Sunday. It isn’t a big deal for me since I just order some food and we watch TV or I just let him play video games.

So far there weren’t any issues until last Sunday. After dinner, we watched TV, and then I turned on Xbox for him so I could answer some emails. While I was typing, he comes to me, and before he could say it, the stench hit me. He had an accident. I had to get up and move from him because I was getting sick. I told him to sit and tried calling his mom, who didn’t answer.

I messaged her saying that her son had an accident and to get back asap. She wrote me to: “Just run him a bath and change his clothes”. I answered: ” No, I can’t do that, please hurry”. She didn’t respond so I just thought that she was on her way, so I told the kid to wait for his mom in their room.

An hour and a half later, she finally returned and asked me if I figured it out. I told her no and that I wrote her that I can’t do it. She just stormed off to her room. A bit later, she walked up to me upset and said: “Are you f-king kidding me, you really let him sit like this all this time? Come on, f-king Ahole, what was the problem?”

I just apologized and once again told her that I just couldn’t get myself to do it, after which she went back to her room. I’ve never in my life changed or bathed a child and I couldn’t stand the smell. I think that I would probably be able to do it if he had just wet himself, but dunno honestly.

My buddy laughed at me and called me a little B after I told him this.

Here is what netizen thinks:

  • She probably assumed a 6 year old wouldn’t soil themselves. I know I wouldn’t have thought of that.
  • My son is now 8, back when he was 5 and 6 he would get so deep into what he was playing (video game or pretend ninjas or some stuff) that he would have accidents occasionally. I learned real fast after the first time, to remind him all the time to use the bathroom…he hasn’t done it in along while, but I’m still in the habit of reminding him every so often. Will probably remind him for the rest of his life. Some kids just get really into what they are doing.

WOMAN DEMANDS DOWRY, MAN INSIST ON MODERN MARRIAGE

0

I’m asking you please to engage in cultural relativity here. You don’t have to like our practices, just temporarily accept them to understand this post.

We are from a culture where it’s customary that a dowry is paid when a woman is married – this a customary marriage(CM) and what one must do in order to start a life.

The CM serves many purposes:

  • it shows you that a man is serious about you
  • he’ll have worked to save and declare his commitment to you and your family
  • it joins your family to his; its the right way to marry a woman
  • it honours a womans parents, family and community, and it let’s the ancestors know you’re leaving the home.

The CM is one of the core principles of my tradition: we’re a family-oriented people and that’s how families are forged.

Now my sister decided to marry a man who’s not from our culture. He refused to marry her customarily because it was “demeaning”, “barbaric” and “backward”.everyone advised her not to marry a man who viewed her that way but she stuck to him and had a modern marriage ceremony. Our parents weren’t supportive but they did attend the church ceremony.

This is already a huge faux pas in our culture. To add insult to injury, her husband is consistently rude and disrespectful to our culture.

He comes into my parent’s home and refers to them by their first names. This is not done with anyone older than you, especially not your in-laws. My parents try to look beyond the absence of customary marriage and treat him like their own anyway, but he throws it back in their face each time.

He rejected core parts of someone’s culture, and then expect to gain full acceptance in a traditional family and expect to be invited to their customary/traditional practices.

WIFE AFRAID WEALTHY HUSBAND WILL FIND A MISTRESS DESPITE GIVING HER EVERYTHING

0

I’m posting this knowing I probably sound like the most ungrateful idiot right now and most people would love to live like this but… I hate it.

My husband comes from a wealthy family and is successful in his own right. He likes the “finer things” in life and his entire social circle are either wealthy themselves or have wealthy families funding their lives. We have a huge house, go on multiple vacations, I can buy whatever I want without worrying about the price and I get to be a SAHM.

Yet… I hate this lifestyle.

I grew up poor and seeing how I live now compared to my younger self doesn’t make me feel happy like I thought it would, it makes me feel sick. I see our son and how much my husband spoils him and I feel awful. I hate the house we live in and I miss the tiny home I grew up in. I dread going on vacation with his friends because I have to force an act while I silently cringe at a lot of what’s going on.

The only thing that I’m truly happy about is that my mother gets to live in a level of comfort I never thought I would be able to give her after everything she sacrificed for me growing up.

I find myself avoiding my husband and keeping to myself whenever he’s home and it makes me feel guilty. He does everything to try to make me happy and I don’t understand why I can’t be happy.

I’ve been struggling with this a lot recently and everyday it just gets worse.

We actually had a disagreement earlier today which is what prompted me to finally post this. This disagreement was over his friend being exposed for having a mistress and it made me think about if my behaviour is going to push him to get a mistress and that made me feel sad too.

I don’t know what to do about this or how to speak to him about any of it.

How do you tell your husband that you hate the life he has given you? How do people who suddenly have access to wealth after growing up poor adjust to this life?

STEP SON FORCED TO SKIP WORK TO TAKE CARE OF STEP BRO, ARGUES WITH STEPDAD

0

I f36 have been with my boyfriend m41 for 2 years. He has 3 kids (6,12,4) while I have an 18-year-old son.

The other day my 12 yo stepson fell off the stairs and injured his ankle, his dad and I had to get him to the hospital and needed someone to stay with the kids while we were there. My boyfriend told my son to skip his part-time job and stay with and watch his stepbrothers.

When we returned, My son asked my boyfriend to pay him for “babysitting” “his kids” I admit my son doesn’t have the best relationship with his stepdad or stepsiblings but My boyfriend and I were shocked by this.

My son explained that he had to skip a workday which cost him to lose money and asked my boyfriend to pay him for his time. My boyfriend scolded him harshly and told him that staying home with his stepbrothers isn’t babysitting and he deserves no money for it.

plus that skipping one day of work won’t do much harm.

but my son disagreed and kept arguing with my boyfriend saying his stepbrothers aren’t his responsibility. My boyfriend ended up punishing him and taking away all his electronics as well as cancelling his birthday months away.

My son fought back talking about how unfair this was and asked me to get involved. I sided with my boyfriend because I really did not appreciate how my son used this family emergency to his advantage and thought he’d get money out of helping family out.

My son didn’t like where I stood in this conflict and accused me of favouring my stepkids to stay on my boyfriend’s good side while ignoring the mistreatment towards him.

I cut the argument and he’s become silent ever since. He even refused to eat with us or sit with us.

What should I do?

This is what netizens thinks:

  • He’s not their stepbrother. You are not married to that man. That’s your boyfriend. Your son had to miss out on a day of work, a day of pay, and you couldn’t pay him for babysitting? The 12 year olds father could have gone to the hospital with his son alone, while you stayed home with the rest of the kids. This isn’t your sons problem. It doesn’t take 2 people for a sprained or broken ankle.
  • Yes, the child’s father should have taken his son and she should have stayed home. Most hospitals only allow one person back anyway. I don’t get how parents allow someone they are dating, to treat their child like that and they back them up.

DRUNK MAN ACCIDENTALLY DO IT WITH WIFE’S TWIN SISTER

0

So my wife’s twin sister moved in with us 6 months ago after leaving her husband. Initially, it was weird because they’re identical, but my wife’s sister (I’ll refer to her as Jenny) tried to make it easier for me to tell them apart by wearing a red ribbon on her hair but sometimes they mess around dress alike and be silly.

So we were having drinks at home and all of us got super drunk and both my wife and her sister did not have a ribbon on her head and things started getting confused.

I went to the toilet and came back and noticed that the twin sister is gone from her seat. I assumed that she had gone to sleep.

I sat with my “wife” on the couch and we started making out and we did it in the living room. After we were done I went back to my room and I was horrified. I saw my wife sleeping on the bed and that means that I did it with the twin sister.

I got sober immediately but the mental stress made me so tired I went to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up and everything was normal. My wife’s twin sister put on the ribbon and look at me and place a finger over her lips.

While my wife was washing the plates she came to my ear and whispered: “This is our secret and it’s one off”.

I was confused, excited and afraid at the same time. I whisper back “How bout next time with the both of you”. She pushed my head and said, “dream on”.

It’s an honest mistake, I did not know and I was too drunk to tell. The fault is with my wife’s sister right?

What should I do? Should I tell my wife about it?

CHILD NAMED BRUNO FELT SAD AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE ENCANTO

0

I have a six-year-old son named Bruno. He is absolutely just the life of the party and just always super energetic. Lately, he has been coming home really sad, and I try asking him what’s wrong but he never tells me. I have also tried asking his teacher if anything is going on with some kids, but his teacher said she hadn’t noticed anything.

I was watching the movie Encanto at home. I have not gotten the chance to watch the movie but I have heard the songs (which are super catchy). I get in the singing mood and start singing the song ‘we dont talk about bruno’.

In the middle of me singing the song, however, my son gets super upset and storms off crying.

I was super confused and followed him to ask him what was wrong. And he said that first, his friend say not to talk about him and now me. That’s when I realized what was going on. He told me everyone was making fun of him saying he had rats and no one ever wanted to say his name. I explained to him that I still loved him and was singing a song from the movie.

Just yesterday I talked to the teacher about it and she promised she would get the situation handled. He seems to be doing awesome now and we just watched the movie together. He loves Bruno and the song haha

GUY NEVER DATE FOR 17 YEARS, DID NOT REALISE GIRL ASKING HIM TO GO HER PLACE

0

It was my first first date in 17 years I am 34 (divorced for a year and a half)

It was a great first date it was going to be just coffee it turned in to a walk in the park an adult arcade dinner like a 10hr date.

We were saying our good night’s and well she kinda leaned in and I patted her shoulder and said I had a good night by I hope we can do it again soon.

I realised what I had done while driving away.

…. Oh it gets worse

It kept me up all night so no I text her at 3am and said sorry for the awkwardness it was my first first date in a long time and didn’t realize you wanted me to kiss you untill I was half way home.

Oh it gets worse

She text me back after a min and said I didn’t want to kiss me

OHH IT GETS WORSE

In the next text she said she didint want to kiss me she was going to ask me to come up to her place.

But it gets better

She went on to say she thinks I’m a great guy a real catch and I am HOT AF

We are going out on Tuesday

Here are what netizens think:

  • If anything this has probably looked good, shows that you’re not just there for one thing only!
  • But maybe she is, just talking about his physical qualities and wanting him to come up to her place on the first date.
  • I am so glad I kept reading to the end. Separated over a year (complicated divorce) and have no clue how to date after 12 years married. This gives me hope. Good job sir!
  • Got divorced at 41 after a 14 year marriage. Barely dated when I was younger. Had no idea how I’d meet someone and, at first, rejected the idea of dating apps. Finally, I relented. And it’s been a great adventure ever since. For me, just meeting people was the hardest part. The dating apps took care of that. The rest really isn’t that hard. Just be yourself and have fun.

DRUNK WIFE VOMIT SO HARD UNTIL FOUL FLUID BURST FROM BEHIND

0

Unlike most, this happened today.

Last night, my wife decided she’d finish the vodka that had been sitting in the kitchen for a few weeks. She’s normally not a heavy drinker, but she’s 41. I figured she knew her limits by now, and this usually means I’ll get some nookie later.

By 10, we’re doing karaoke, so I knew she was feeling pretty good. She’s swaying a little bit and almost fell over a few times, but she didn’t seem too bad off and was starting to get a little handsy – a good sign my night would end well.

By midnight, we’re watching Peacemaker when she excuses herself. Then, I heard the sound of her retching in the bathroom. Being a good husband, I wanted to make sure she was OK and went to check on her.

Opening the door, I’m welcomed to the sight of her leaning over the toilet puking so hard, it broke the seal on her o-ring releasing a torrent of foul fluid rolling down her legs and making a spot on the floor.

Needless to say, my boner reversed course so far, it became an oyster.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Hey, it could have been worse, she could have been vomiting so hard she broke the o-ring of the toilet.
  • I’ve had to clean a similar mess before, it’s funny now because I just threw out the rug.
  • She threw it in the shower. I think she should have just went there to begin with.
  • Whenever I puke, I sit on the toilet and puke into the bathroom trash. I’d far rather mop up spilled puke than S…
  • Number of drinks required to make my wife super fun and handsy: 5. Number of drinks required to make my wife turn into a vomiting mess: 5.1

GF FORCES BF TO WEAR A CHASTITY CAGE WHEN HE LEAVES HOME

0

Ok, I have this very insecure GF which is a bit crazy due to her history of many many cheating boyfriends who are mostly ah beng ah seng ah kow ah neow.

She is currently staying with me and I’m going nuts.

She told me that all her ex has cheated on her and demanded me to wear a charity cage when I leave home. So I basically have a birdcage on my bird when I go office or go down NTUC to buy groceries.

After a week it started to get irritating and itchy and I told her I did not want to wear it anymore, she immediately accused me that I have plans to cheat on her and said that If I leave home without the cage she would leave me.

I am many things but I am not a man that takes kindly to threats. So I decided to leave home and went to NTUC go get a bag of potato chips. I did it on purpose because not only she forces me to cage up my bird but also she wants me to diet with her.

It don’t make sense for me to diet with her as I am already very skinny.

I came back and saw her crying, she started to shout and scream at me saying I have gone out to find other girls.

I replied her: “I was out for less than 15mins, You think I have time to take off my pants, do it and put it back in time ah”

After that I ignored her watching some anime and eating the potato chips.

She said: Now you really don’t care for me, You even stop dieting with me.

I told her: If you were not so fat in the first place, maybe ur ex won’t cheat on you.

That was the last straw and she left my home and we broke up. I was so happy and I called grab food to order a bucket or friend chicken and watch some shows on my PC.
