UNCLE SCOLD CYCLIST FOR BANGING INTO HIS CAR, LEAVING A DENT

Sometimes driving out of a compound can be dangerous to pedestrians but at the same time, the bicycle that is cycling on the footpath probably did not bother to check if there were vehicles coming out of the compound.

The driver could be seen gesturing and appears to be scolding the cyclist.

The man who witnessed the accident said:

“Witnessed this accident at the main gate of a church in AMK. A cyclist was riding along the pavement while a car emerged out from the church.

Both the driver and the cyclist can’t see each other, and both arrived at the blind spot together. The bicycle crashed into the front left of the car and caused a dent. If the cyclist was riding a little faster, he could be hit by the car instead.

What can be done to avoid similar accidents from happening again in the future? “

SBS BUS BEATS RED LIGHT ALONG KEPPEL ROAD, LUCKY NO VEHICLES

A netizen who was turning into Keppel road was lucky as he did not accelerate immediately when the light turned green.

An SBS bus beats the red light and goes across the driver moments before he moved off. Imagine if the driver was to move off immediately it would have been disastrous.

The netizen said:

SBS Transit Ltd, please train your bus captain on road safety – particularly to obey traffic lights. Bus 131 (SBS8339Y) travelling on Keppel Road run a red light at junction of Keppel Road and Cantonment Road. Could have resulted in terrible accident.”

Here is the footage:

In Singapore, beating the red light is an offence that will cost you $400 in composite fine and 12 demerit points.

If an accident were to happened and cause hurt or death the sentenced will be much worse than just a fine.

JOB SCAMS TARGETING COURIERS, POLICE WARN MEMBERS OF PUBLIC TO BE WARY

According to a Police media release, there has been a rise of job scams that specifically targets couriers.

The police want to alert the public about work frauds that target couriers.

Scammers will target couriers from various delivery systems in these situations. In these frauds, there are two sorts of variations:

Version A of scam

The fraudsters would make a request through the delivery mechanism in the first version.

After that, they’d contact the designated courier and ask for help obtaining gift cards from convenience stores. The fraudsters would ask the courier to scratch and expose the code behind the card while on their way to the location, and then email a photo of the code as proof of purchase. When the fraudster became uncontactable and did not pay for the gift cards, the courier would realize they had been duped.

Version B of scam

The fraudsters would mention a remittance agency as the location for the courier to pick up the delivery in the second variation.

They would then call the designated courier and suggest that they transfer a particular amount of money to an overseas account in exchange for an enticing tip of at least $100 each transaction. The couriers would only realize they had been duped when the fraudsters were no longer reachable and there was no one at the delivery site to pay for the transfer they had facilitated.
