19.YO STOLE PRI SCH GIRL UNIFORM AND LINGERIE TO PCC AT STAIRS, RECEIVES PROBATION

A 19 y.o YP was given one year and nine months probation for stealing female undergarments and primary school uniforms from HDB flats to wank at the staircase landings.

He would take the stolen apparels to touch and smell before masturbating at staircase landings.

After he is done with his act, he would leave them at the dry risers before fleeing from the scene.

First offence (3 Sep 2020)

He went to a HDB block at Jurong West in the afternoon to steal two skirts, a top, and one set of P.E. attire from a unit on the eighth floor.

He then climbed up to the 10th floor to fulfil his fantasies at the staircase landing and hid them in a dry riser there before leaving.

A police report was filed by the unit’s occupants and the YP was arrested a month later.

Further investigations showed that he had done this to the same unit on seven previous occasions when the police also found dresses and bras there.

Second offence (5 Feb 2021)

He did not stop his acts even after he was caught for the first time.

He went to a flat in Jurong East on that evening to take a pair of underwear and two primary school P.E. tops from a sixth floor unit before heading to the eighth floor to pcc again.

Again, he stupidly reused the same modus operandi and left the stolen items at the dry riser again.

The owner too made a police report, but was unable to recover the clothes this time.

Under his probation conditions, he has to serve 50 hours of community service, stay indoors between 10am to 6pm and also attend offence-specific cognitive behavioural treatment.

Adult offenders for theft could have received a jail term of up to three years or a fine or both.

Do not intimidate wild animals

The wild boar is a native animal of Singapore that can weigh up to 100kg and has a lifespan of over 20 years.

What to do when I encounter wild boars?
  • Be calm and move slowly away from the animal. Do not approach or attempt to feed the animal.
  • Keep a safe distance and do not corner or provoke the animal i.e. by using a flash while taking pictures of it.
  • If you see adults with young piglets, leave them alone. These are potentially more dangerous because they may attempt to defend their young.

IMH STAFF PUNCHED PATIENT IN THE FACE, SLAPPED HIM IN THE HEAD

Sadasivam Kannan, 61-years-old, pleaded guilty to one count of voluntarily causing hurt to a vulnerable person.

He was sentenced to 3 weeks imprisonment on 23 August.

2 other staff nurses were also charged for assaulting the patient, Muhammad Ihsan Mahmud, 32, and Iylia Muhammad Afiq Nor Effendi, 25.

What happened?

Sadasivam had assaulted an IMH patient because he was stressed and angered by his aggressive behavior.

The victim is a 59-year-old man who is suffering from chronic schizophrenia and had been a patient at IMH since 2005.

The victim was incapable of protecting himself because of his mental illness.

He was moved to a lounge area following a haircut and started playing with another patient’s urinal, splashing urine on an attending nurse.

Ihsan heard about what happened and he then used hand sanitiser to splash on the victim’s face.

The victim then caused a disturbance in the lounge, to which the trio then used 3 restraints on him.

The victim then became agitated and Ihsan then punched him in the face twice.

The victim continued being aggressive and kicked the nurses, the three accused then subdued him by holding him down.

Sadasivam was fixing the restraints onto the victim at the time, when the victim then kicked another patient.

This made Sadasivam very angry and he then slapped the back of his head, scolding him.

The victim started cowering and soon calmed down, and Sadasivam then continued trying to fix the restraints onto him.

The victim then rocked his head back and forth, putting his head near Sadasivam’s head, to which Sadasivam slapped the victim again.

Iylia is also being accused of slapping the victim on his back, neck and shoulder as well, multiple times.

He is also being accused of nearly causing the victim to fall off his wheelchair by tilting it forward and sideways.

CCTV footage of the incident was played in court.

Iylia later found that the victim suffered bruises around his right eye, and put an ice pack onto it.

He then made a report to IMH’s management about the injuries, resulting in a HR manager reporting the incident to the police.

The victim was then conveyed to SGH, where they found that he suffered a fractured toe, bruised eyes, jaw and toes.

COMPANY REJECTS JOB APPLICANT BECAUSE INTERN IS MUCH CHEAPER

A netizen was rejected by the hiring company because they decided that an intern is cheaper than hiring a normal full-time staff.

It is evident that most companies will always focus on hiring cheaper employees rather than quality. This is the reason why we are not only competition our jobs from interns but also foreign talents.

Netizens who saw the image said:

You dodged the bullet thereby not joining that company. I think your time is worth so much more than the terms they had offered you.

Jobs are hard to get these days, but press on! You could try something different, maybe cold email an employee of an interesting company that you want to join. You could propose a few cool ideas that could help the company (e.g. grow revenue, get more customers) – these are more interesting than simply resumes to employees.

I didn’t have much success as you in getting jobs through formal applications but it was only when I started cold emailing companies was when I got some job offers. It’s a different approach you may want to try.

That said, keep going, and all the best! Hope you find a good one next.

Companies using interns to cut cost

My previous industry preferred intern headcounts over perm staff headcounts. The internship lasts 3-6 months depending on poly/uni.

When the internship is over, they often offer them temp contracts and let them stay up to between a few months to x months after new interns come in. Then these ex-interns/temp staff will train and hand-over to the new batch of interns before leaving. The cycle continues.

GIRL RECENTLY GOT ATTACHED BUT FWB KEEP PESTERING HER

A lady who wishes to stay anonymous shared a story with us hoping to seek advice from netizens regarding an issue that she is facing now.

Here is her story

”Hi, I would like to share my scenario with you all to publish on your page to get advice from the internet on how to deal with my situation.

I recently got attached to my bf who is from my church. He has been living a holy life all this while while mine has been more messed up. He doesn’t know much of my past, thinking that I am also a holy church goer.

Before him, I knew this guy called “D” from tinder and had a FWB relationship with him for almost a year.

As soon as I got attached, I tried to cut D off but he just will not let me go.

D even threatened to expose my past with him to my new guy if I do not continue my FWB relationship with him.

I do not wish to let my boyfriend know about my past as I am scared that he would leave me and I would never find a guy as good as him again.

I am unable to seek advice from any of my friends as most of them are from church and I don’t want them to see how messed up am I before”
