GANGSTER LIED TO POLICE ABOUT FRIEND USING WEAPON, JAILED

0

Edmund Kam Wei Liang, 23-years-old, pleaded guilty to 4 charges including rioting and lying to the authorities and was sentenced on 7 January to 17 months and 5 weeks imprisonment, as well as a fine of $4,000.

He was a gang member and saw his friend using a knife to attack another man but lied to the police about it when he was brought to the police station for questioning.

Five more charges were considered for his sentencing, including breaching of Covid-19 rules.

What happened?

Kam was part of a gang in Singapore from 2014 to 2020 and on 10 May 2020, he was with Teo Shou Ren,29-years-old, at a garden in Jurong West when the latter attacked the victim, Teo Jia Wei, 27-years-old.

Kam didn’t join in the assault but he saw his friend using the knife to attack the victim, Kam was then arrested the following day but did not tell the police the truth.

Kam later admitted to the police that he saw Shou Ren carrying the knife behind his back at the time of the attack, and the latter was then charged with voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.

Not the only incident

In a separate incident on 18 November 2018, Kam took part in a fight at a Thai disco, Club V5 at Ming Arcade, where he was drinking with his gang members.

One of the gang members, Tan Hong Sheng, got angry after another man bumped into him, and he challenged the man to a fight.

The friend of the man, Chionh Teck Soon, 26-years-old, stepped in to intervene and was attacked by the other gang members, who kicked and punched him in the face and body.

Tan and another gangster, Dino Teo Wei Chiang, 26-years-old, both picked up a glass bottle and hit Chionh in the head.

The fight lasted about 3 minutes and the assailants then fled the scene when they realised that the police were notified about the fight.

Chionh was sent to hospital with injuries to his head and a cut on his arm.

Some of the gangsters have already been dealt with including Tan, who was jailed for 32 months and 4 strokes of the cane.

MAN KILLED AFTER BEING TRAPPED INSIDE BURNING CAR AFTER COLLISION

A male driver died after being trapped in a rental car that burst into flames following a collision with another vehicle in an open carpark.

The incident happened yesterday (7 January) at Block 42, Cassia Crescent, beside the Geylang Police Post.

The police said that they were alerted to the incident at about 3pm.

Man trapped inside rental car

According to The Straits Times, the white-coloured Mazda 3 was a rental car listed on Carousell by a rental company @i_rent_you2.

A female witness spoke to Straits Times and said that she noticed the accident via the smoke coming out of the vehicle and that the car did not catch fire at first.

The cabin of the vehicle was filled with smoke and the witness and her husband then went to check if there was anyone inside the car.

And that was when she heard movement and realised that there was someone in the car.

Tried to pull man out of burning car

The witness then asked her husband to call the police while she rushed to get help from her neighbours, and it was then that she heard an explosion and the car burst into flames.

The woman said that a police officer tried to pull the trapped man out of the burning car but was unsuccessful, and the fire lasted for about 15 to 20 minutes before the SCDF arrived and put it out at 3.40pm.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by SCDF paramedics.

The operations manager of the car rental company then rushed to the scene after being informed of the incident by the police and he told the Straits Times that the car was rented to a man in his 30s.

CITIGROUP GETTING RID OF ALL UNVACCINATED STAFF

0

New York – The headquarters of Citigroup has recently announced that all staff is required to go through mandatory vaccination or risk losing their jobs.

Staff who are not vaccinated by the end Jan 14 will be placed on unpaid leave and fired by the end of the month.

As cases in the United States are spreading at an incredible rate, actions are needed to be taken. Other financial giants in the US have allowed their unvaccinated staff to work from home and Citigroup is the first finance company to take a big move against those that are not vaccinated.

Citigroup employees have reached 90% vaccination rates and with the “verdict” made by the headquarters, the numbers are rising.

The Bank said that they are following Joe Biden’s police that companies who are working/supporting government-related contracts to be fully vaccinated.

As of Jan 6, the United States has a 7 day average of 604,832 cases, this brings their total cases to date at over 60 million cases with 858,346 fatalities and over 42 million have recovered.

GIRL TOLD BF OF 7-YEARS SHE CAN’T SEE A FUTURE WITH HIM BECAUSE HE’S POOR

0

A guy shared how he has been with his current girlfriend for 7 years and when he asked her if she sees a future with him, she said “no” because he doesn’t earn enough to meet her “expectations”.

Here is the story:

“I’m together with my girlfriend since 2015. In these 7 years, I never went to her house for gatherings (even Christmas or CNY)(i only met the mum before and the dad dont even know me). Every time I ask her when am I able to meet your family then she will tell me soon or after she finishes her exams.

Last year she told me that she doesn’t know if she can see a future with me because I dont earn enough to meet her expectations. Being the youngest in the family, she feels that bringing a guy back to meet her family means telling her family I’m the one she’s gonna marry.

After I knew that, I changed to a higher-paying job but she’s still not too fond of it.

I always gave her the best, buy the things she want even it would empty my bank but I don’t know what’s wrong now. Money is important but how much is enough and how much is too little?

All I asked is to visit her family this CNY.

When I asked if she wants this relationship, she say she dont have an answer for me.

I dont want to end 7 years of relationship because of this…”

Editor’s note: If that’s the case, then she has wasted 7 years of your life. Cut your losses, leave her ASAP.

GUY WITH HERPES TELLS GF IF SHE WAS THE ONE WHO HAS IT, HE WOULD LEAVE HER

0

A girl shared how her boyfriend told her that he has genital herpes (which the girl accepts him for it), but added that if she was the one who has it, he would leave her.

Here is the story:

“My boyfriend came forward to tell me he has genital herpes. As soon as he told me this news I went into complete de-escalation and comfort mode.

“We’ll figure this out.” “This isn’t your fault at all.” “Thank you for telling me.” “We will deal with this together.”

I fully accepted him and this condition because I know that genital herpes isn’t actually that big of a deal health wise. (First break out comes with a fever but mostly it’s just the blisters that are the recurring problem).

I know it’s a fairly common STI that can be treated with medication.

Later on we talk about it. And he tells me that if the roles were reversed, if I had herpes and he for sure didn’t, he wouldn’t have stayed with me.

I was deeply hurt but I had to respect his decision since it’s his health.

But still… it really hurts me that he wouldn’t do the same.

I’m just looking for someone to help me rationalize this in my head. Not looking for who’s right or who’s wrong. I just don’t want to feel upset about it anymore.”

GIRL SLEPT WITH CO-WORKER FOR MONEY, COULDN’T AFFORD TO PAY FOR FOOD

0

A girl shared how she is in a very bad financial situation and had to choose between paying her bills and food, she then slept with a man for money out of desperation.

Here is the story

“For the past few months I’ve been in an awful financial situation. I was living from salary to salary and I didn’t have time to find a second job.

I lost that job and I picked up 2 jobs that barely pay me enough. I do my best but I’m still struggling. So much that I had to choose between paying my bills and paying for food.

I was telling my coworker about it and how I hadn’t eaten a full meal in weeks and he offered to invite me over for dinner. I knew he was hitting on me but I just needed a real meal. So I agreed. I went over to his apartment alone with him and ate. He then offered me 250 dollars if I slept with him.

Being the disgusting piece of trash I am, I reluctantly agreed and experienced 25 minutes of the most degrading and demoralizing moment of my life. I feel so dirty and I’ll never be able to clean of what I did. I never thought this would be my life.

To add insult to injury he only gave me 200. He then slapped me on my behind and sent me off my way like a prostitute.”

MAN HAO LIAN TO GIRL SAY HIS SALARY ANNUAL SALARY 100K, GETS SCOLDED

0

My friend introduced me to her 24-year-old friend at a dinner party. He works in tech. It was totally platonic, not romantic at all.

I was politely chatting with him, and he was asking about a trip I’m going on soon with my friend and several other people, and he said she invited him. So I was trying to be polite and was like, “oh yeah, you should come.” And then he accused me of flirting with him, which was funny since I definitely wasn’t. He was like “well, girls who didn’t used to like me all want to date me because I’m making $110K now.” And he said I’m probably one of them.

I laughed then, which I guess was rude, and I was like “Well, that’s nice and all, but it’s not like you’re wealthy. If I was going to be impressed by someone’s money, they would have to make a lot more than middle-class.”

He went off after that and told my friend I flirted with him, then attacked him when I found out he wasn’t rich. Which I funny, because I never thought he was rich.

Netizens Respond:

That guy has some serious insecurity. I love your jab about 110k being middle class because I’m sure that hit him like a freight train. You’re good.

I think she was more making the point that 110k is not like an exceptional level of wealth in this country. The difference between someone making 40k a year and 100k a year is a lot, but nothing like the gap from 100k a year to a million+ a year. That’s when it’s more at a level that it would be something to brag about. Personally, I also don’t care about/am not impressed by wealth. I just know when I think of actual rich people it’s not 110k/yr

GUY KEEPS LYING TO WIFE FOR EVERYTHING, LIE UNTIL HE DROVE HIS WIFE AWAY

0

A netizen shared how he is always lying to his wife for everything, and it has gotten to a point where his marriage is strained.

Here is the story

“I lie to my wife. I didn’t lie about cheating on her, because I haven’t, or because i secretly hate her family, or because im a cross dresser (nothing wrong with that, just using it as an example). I lie to her when she asks me what is wrong and I tell her nothing. It starts off a something so stupid like doing the dishes or picking up something. Its so dumb, but I do it anyways.

In turn, I always assume she is lying to me. She has never given me reason to. She is not perfect, but in this area, I don’t have a single time that she has given me a reason to assume she is lying to me.

We had a huge blow up today. I yelled because i thought she was being snarkey to me when she was just trying to help. I blew up, we argued, we hurt each other but at the end of the day I was wrong and mean and awful and she was crying, and hurt, and upset.

I am pretty sure that this is her final straw and frankly there is no one to blame but myself. I have said i was going to be honest and talk to her in the past and she has given me time to prove myself to her, but I have not done so. I keep falling back into old habits. I tell myself that im doing the right thing, and keeping her from hearing my nasty thoughts all the time because ultimately my first reaction is anger and rage. Again I dont know why this is.

I just want to say, im not writing this for pity, nor to be right or wrong. I just wanted to say im sorry for everything. Im sorry you have been with me for 13 years now and I have been nothing but awful to you for a vast majority of that time.

I lie to my wife about stupid shit and am pretty sure I have driven her away.”

Editor’s note: I don’t know man, have you tried maybe NOT LYING?

GF SOLD BF’S AH MA RING AFTER THE WEDDING WAS CANCELED

0

I was supposed to get married to my ex-fiance ‘Bryan’ (29) on the 20th of this month. But last week a mutual friend caught him cheating on his ex ‘Kim’ so I called it off. Because it’s so close to our wedding date, I had already booked everything like the venue, catering and everything else. I barely managed to get any money back as it’s mostly non-refundable so in total, I’ve lost $20,000 for my share.

Last year I took out a loan to cover the costs of the wedding, the longer I take to repay it the more interest it gets. When we first got engaged, Bryan agreed to share our finances together, meaning had we got married I would’ve been able to pay it off. This was supposed to be in our prenup but because we didn’t get married, it meant he no longer had to share finances.

I asked him if he was still willing to help and told him that I will go into debt if he doesn’t as I can’t repay it alone. He told me ”It isn’t my problem you took out a loan you can’t pay back” and stopped responding after that. When we got engaged, Bryan proposed to me with a family heirloom ring belonging to his great grandmother that was worth $25,000. When we canceled the wedding, he told me he wanted the ring back but we never got around to arranging a time he could pick it up.

Because I don’t want to go into debt, I told him that if he didn’t agree to help pay it off (I wanted a lawyer involved) that I would sell the ring. He didn’t reply and ignored the messages however after talking to a mutual friend (Jake) I found out he had actually read the messages and told everyone he didn’t care because I ”wouldn’t do it”. I asked Jake to tell Bryan that if I don’t get a message from him in the next 24 hours that I would sell the ring.

Jake told me he again said he didn’t care and didn’t think I would do it. So the next day I sold the ring to an online website and messaged Bryan to tell him it had been done and told him he shouldn’t have underestimated me. He started cussing me out, saying I didn’t scare him and that he would be around for the ring later. True to his word, he came to my house demanding the ring and I told him I sold it already and showed him the proof.

He blew up at me, saying I was a petty B and that I shouldn’t have sold it because it wasn’t just a ring, it was an heirloom that meant a lot to his family. A lot of my family members think I overreacted and shouldn’t have gone to extreme measures as it will be hard for him to get the ring back, if he even can at all.

Am I wrong for selling his great grandmothers ring?
