TALIBAN SEIZES CONTROL OF US WEAPONS AFTER AFGHAN FORCES FLED

Afghanistan has been receiving weapons and vehicles; including Humvees, guns, planes, night-vision goggles and etc, from the United States in their support for the country; before the Taliban seized control.

Following the Taliban’s seizure of the country and the Afghan forces fleeing, the Taliban has gotten their hands on the US-made special weapons and vehicles left behind by the Afghan forces.

According to Reuters, a US official said that “everything that hasn’t been destroyed is the Taliban’s now.”

There are growing concerns among the current and former officials in the US that the weapons could be used by the Taliban to kill civilians, or be seized by ISIS to attack the interests of the US in the region.

US intelligence believe that the Taliban are in control of more than 2,000 armoured vehicles and aircraft, including:

  • US Humvees
  • UH-60 Black Hawks
  • Scout attack helicopters
  • ScanEagle military drones

The US has provided about 208 aircraft to Afghanistan over the years, from 2003 to 2016.

Some of the immediate concerns include the Taliban’s potential usage of the night vision googles, which enhances their capability to fight at night.

More than 600,000 infantry weapons which included M16s, 162,000 communications equipment and 16,000 night vision goggles were supplied to the Afghan forces since 2003.

Your inspector at Kaki Bukit broke my bonnet hood yesterday during the inspection. Yes, your officer purpose to pay for it but not a word of apology from him and the senior officer about.

“Do you know the trouble I have to go through sending the car to the workshop and waiting for hours to get it to fix as this is not a common part readily available? Can’t understand why he needs bull power to pull the bonnet hood. Appreciate Vicom can brief their officers to treat customers cars with care, at least have the basic courtesy to apologise for their mistake.”

Here is what netizens think of this incident:

However, netizens urge the man to let it go as the officer is willing to pay for the damages

Netizen 1: Yr Bonnet might have been damaged before and he just at the right moment that bonnet hook break. U try breaking a new hook and see if yrself can break it a not? Humans tend to blame other ppl for broken things as we are human. But maybe yr bonnet hook is already damage. (I’m not link to vicom in any way but this is what feels about yr bonnet hook. Thanks.

Netizen 2: He already to pay for the damages! Leave it man! If you expecting sorry, then you shouldn’t be demanding the fixing charges. And if you just need the fixing to be done, take the money n go repair. Maybe You are a good and decent guy! I can see that but not all the same as you bro!

Calm down n just move forward! Don’t keep the negative energy around you because of this incident. Happy Friday bro!

An injured driver was involved in a car crash which resulted in him suffering an open thumb fracture, a damaged tail bone and injured knee.

He was seen with his hands all bloody amidst the wreckage.

The accident happened on 14 August at around 10.15am, at the junction of Sembawang Road heading towards Canberra Road.

Here is the story:

“Hi everyone, I would like to appeal for dashcam footage of an accident I was involved in as my device failed to capture the incident.

The accident took place on Aug 14 (Saturday) at 10.15am on Sembawang Road (towards Yishun Industrial Park) near the T-Junction to Canberra Road, and involved a collision between my silver Chevrolet Orlando SLJ1504L and a grey Toyota SBW9797E.

I was driving straight at the crossed junction a white vehicle turned prematurely so I braked suddenly and horned but then the Toyota turned right into my passage.

Unfortunately I have a open fractured thumb, damaged tail bone and knee.

I just want to resolve this case as soon as possible therefore I need dash cam footage.

I would be most grateful if anyone who has footage of the incident can reach out to me.

Thank you for reading this.”

MAN’S EZ-LINK DEDUCTED $100 WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION, LINKED TO CREDIT CARD

A man shared a complaint online that his Ez-Link card was deducted $50 on two occasions amounting to $100. He stated that there was no authorization and the worse part of the story his Ez-Link card is linked to his credit card.

Here is the complaint:

I was quite upset with EZ-Link when I checked with my credit card last night and found two unauthorized transactions $50 each on 12 Aug and 17 Aug.

So I called my bank immediately to try to block them but was informed transactions posted by merchants cannot be blocked, I have options to cancel the card or call the merchant to verify.

It was 10:45 pm, @EZ-Link already closed shop at that time. For safety reasons, I requested to cancel the card. At the same time I made a police report online since I suspect the EZ-Link database has been compromised and users accounts have been misused. This morning 8 am I called the EZ-Link hotline to verify, to my surprise, they admitted these two transactions were done by them just to verify my account is still alive.

These are holding amounts and will be revert back in 5-7 working days. Come on, you can verify the account liveness with 1000 means, $1 holding can also do the job, but why two $50 transactions in less than 1 week time, without notification, I don’t understand, this is absurd, why act like a scammer and wasted my time stay late overnight call bank to cancel my card and make a police report.

Then just now I have to call the bank and police again to inform it is NOT a fraud. But the bank already cancelled my card and can’t revert back, which means when the replacement card arrives I need to go through all the hassles to rearrange all the recurrence bill setup again.

This is wasting all my energy and public resources all in one. After went through all the troublesome for nothing,

EZ-Link don’t even bother to say sorry to me, I need an explain! #EZ-Link# #
