STRANGE PHENOMENON – BIRD STOPS FLYING & FLOATS IN MIDAIR

0

A video emerged online showing a strange phenomenon that took place in Malaysia, above a stretch of busy roads.

A bird had stopped flying and was seen to be floating in midair right above the traffic.

The traffic came to a standstill as motorists and onlookers stood rooted in their tracks and watched the incident unfold.

The bird appears to just be floating right there in midair with no reasonable explanation for the strange phenomenon.

There doesn’t appear to be any wires or structures in the way that could’ve impeded the bird’s flight, as it remained motionless with its wings spread wide in midair.

Rescuers try to reach the bird

An emergency vehicle was seen stopped in the middle of the road as rescuers set up some form of pole-like device in an attempt to reach the bird.

The device touched the bird and it moved and jerked for a little bit, before being frozen in midair again.

The incident happened in Malaysia.

Glitch in the matrix

Netizens commented that there was a glitch in the Matrix, referring to the phenomenon of small but puzzling occurrences that can’t be explained with logic.

It is derived from the Matrix movies to explain the unexplainable.

The video was posted onto TikTok by user @luna_little_legs, which is presumably a TikTok account dedicated to the dog.

The dog was seen in the video watching its daddy intently and with so much love in its eyes.

The man then noticed his dog watching him, he then stopped his video games and looked back at the little doggo, acknowledging the little guy.

Man’s best friend

Throughout the entire history of humankind, dogs have always proven to be an ever-present companion by the side of humans.

A 2015 study by a group of researchers in the US studied the brains of dogs and presented them with different scents; including their own scent, their owner’s scent, a stranger’s scent, and the scent of another unknown dog.

The dogs were discovered to have a positive association with their human counterparts.

The earliest account of humans and dogs having a positive relation dates back to about 14,000 years ago; although there are some who believe the relationship to go back even longer.

A video emerged online showing the aftermath of a bicycle accident involving a cyclist on the road.

The cyclist was seen cycling on the side of the road, however he was cycling too close to the kerb on the side.

One of the tyres on the cyclist’s bicycle then got caught inside a drain that was between the kerb and the double yellow lines.

The cyclist then crashed and fell off his bicycle and onto the road, almost getting run over by a car that was driving past.

Thankfully the driver of the camcar stopped just in time to prevent what would have been a serious injury to the cyclist.

It is unclear where exactly the accident happened, although the cyclist appears to be safe, save for some cuts and bruises.

LTA Code of Conduct

The cyclist didn’t appear to have broken any laws with his riding on the road, this appears to have been an unlucky incident with a very lucky outcome.

LIVE-STREAMER ALLEGEDLY MURDERED AFTER REFUSING TO RETURN $21K GIFT

0

A live-streamer from China, affectionately known as the “Yubei female security guard” was allegedly murdered by one of her fans following a monetary dispute.

A suspect has been arrested although the authorities have stopped short of revealing his identity.

Fan gave her a gift worth $21k

According to the Chinese media, she was reportedly killed after meeting a male fan in the evening of 2 November.

The victim’s husband said that he didn’t know that his wife had met up with a fan at the time as he was on a business trip in another city.

The male fan was said to be the Yubei female security guard’s biggest fans and even gave her a 100,000 yuan gift during one of her live-streams, which is about $21,200 in Singapore currency.

Allegations soon arose that their relationship took a turn for the worse, with suspicions from netizens that she was allegedly killed after refusing to return the money to the fan.

However, these are allegations at the time of writing and neither the police nor the victim’s family have come out to confirm or deny the claims.

Rose to fame dancing in security uniform

The victim, a 33-year-old woman, rose to internet stardom when she posted short videos of herself wearing a security guard uniform and dancing.

According to The Paper, she worked as a security guard at a Yubei driving school and helped them recruit students via her posts.

She first posted her content on DouYin (the Chinese equivalent of TikTok) and has since garnered over 600,000 followers before her alleged murder.

Most of her videos were taken at the driving school.

She leaves behind a husband and two children, following her death.

SECURITY GUARDS TO EARN MINIMUM $3.5K/MONTH BY 2028

0

The Security Tripartite Cluster (STC) submitted recommendations to the government on their review of the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) relating to its private security industry.

The government has since accepted their recommendations, with one of the acceptances being the progressive increase in the basic salary of security officers to a minimum of $3,530 by the year 2028.

The STC released their recommendations on 12 November, including the limiting of extra working hours to 72 hours each month.

From the year 2023 until 2028, the salaries of security officers will be increased progressively.

Cap on extra working hours

STC said that the monthly gross wage across all job levels will increase by 6.6%, the average Compound Annual Growth Rate, between 2022 to 2028; which is twice the 3% annual increase announced in 2017.

They said that this will assure security officers of wage growth that is sustainable without them having to clock in excessive hours to get higher pay.

The capping of the extra working hours to 72 hours is to safeguard their working hours and make sure that they don’t work excessive hours and are fit to carry out their duties in a competent manner.

Attracting workers into the industry

STC said that although the number of active security officers being supplied to the industry has risen over the years, their manpower still continues to see a shortfall to meet the demand for security services.

This is due to new buildings being built as well as the SMMs of Covid-19.

They said that the manpower shortage has been a challenge despite efforts to improve salaries and working conditions.

They highlighted the “urgency to expedite the pace of industry transformation”, to combat the risk of a severe manpower crunch in the future.

CARS MOVE OUT OF THE WAY TO LET AMBULANCE GET TO THE FRONT

In a life and death situation, every single second counts.

A video emerged online showing an ambulance with its sirens blaring and lights flashing, indicating that they were responding to an emergency situation.

The cars were seen stopping at a traffic light, with the ambulance waiting behind them.

The gracious drivers then gave way, with the camcar reversing his vehicle along with the other drivers moving out of the way so that the ambulance could get to the front.

The ambulance then drove to the front of the queue at the traffic stop, before moving off after the traffic lights turned green.

Kudos to these drivers for their civic-mindedness and understanding of the situation.

Potential penalties for obstruction

On a side note, emergency vehicles on official duty have a right of way on the roads, under the Road Traffic Act.

An indicator of this would be the flashing lights and blaring of the sirens on the emergency vehicles, which is a sign to move out of the way.

Vehicles on the same lane and ahead of the emergency vehicles, should filter to the left or the right lane as soon as possible to make way.

Under the Road Traffic Act, persons who obstruct emergency vehicles responding to an emergency faces a fine of up to $160 as well as 4 demerit points on their license.

Under the Civil Defence Act, persons who obstruct emergency duties from being carried out face a fine of up to $5,000, a jail term of up to 6 months, or both.

FIREFIGHTER FELL FROM ROOFTOP SAVING WOMAN FROM JUMPING DOWN

0

A tragic incident happened in China, where a firefighter reportedly fell to his death from the rooftop of an apartment building.

The firefighter was trying to save the woman from jumping down the building.

Unfortunately, both the firefighter and the woman died after they fell down from the roof together.

Firefighter was only 24-years-old

The incident happened in Mengcheng, a country situated inside the Anhui province in China; and took place on 12 November.

The 24-year-old firefighter, Chen Jianjun, was trying to save the 50-year-old woman who was in emotional duress, from jumping down the apartment building.

According to the Southern Metropolis Daily, the woman had reportedly reached the rooftop of the building at about 7 or 8 am and remained there for a few hours.

Initially, nobody took notice of the woman as there were some people working on the roof, and people naturally assumed that she was one of the people working up there.

Tragic end

The police and firefighters arrived at the scene soon after being alerted and tried calming the woman down, urging her to get to safety.

An air cushion was then set up on the ground floor but as the woman was running around on the roof, the rescuers were as a result unable to determine where she was going to jump down from, resulting in the air cushion not being deployed in the right place on time.

The woman eventually jumped down from the roof to her death.

Chen tried his hardest to save the woman by holding on to her and trying to pull her back to safety but inadvertently fell down with her to their deaths.

Despite this, upon landing, his grip on her never loosened even after they fell from the roof.

The woman was pronounced dead while Chen died the following morning after unsuccessful attempts to save him in the hospital.

Firefighter lauded as a hero

An outpouring of grief on social media was sparked by Chen’s heroic actions and subsequent death.

He was also hailed as a national hero for his bravery and selflessness.

Chen’s firefighting department commemorated him and his acts of bravery since the start of his firefighting career on Weibo.

Chen had been involved in more than 1,300 rescue operations and saved hundreds of civilians.
