“HK” MAN FROM DATING APP KEEPS ASKING SINGLE WOMAN TO INVEST: SCAM

0

I meet this guy via CMB APP addressed himself as join (李志辉) from hk but have been in SG for about 6 years, having a job in AMK link.

After we are matched via the apps he approached me and asked to chat in WhatsApp so we chatted and do WhatsApp calls for 2 weeks. He is very nice in his text (in Chinese) and calls show concern, texted me every day to night, and we shared story as a child till current. It seems we have common interests (things go well) but he started confess of ‘like’ and we had not meet each other, I started to feel the red lights, was avoiding then he started to do sweet stuffs like planning itinerary for us, making promises and commitment for future (to all out there don’t fall for it).

He has also trying to persuade me to invest with him to build good foundation as he plans to retired 7 years down the road. (2nd red lights) we have conflict and debated on this 3x till I told him I am not interested in investment if you feel this is important to you and I am not going to be in line with you, you can decide on this ‘friendship’ (my purpose is to see his reaction), expectedly he feel we should put a stop since we are not giving in to each other. But weird he can still texted me after a week of not contacting.

Just to share although I did not lose any monetary, but I lose trust in dating app. So guys and girls out there pls be caution! I am not sure if he is a real scam but is a lesson for me.

ADOPTED 36 Y.O SON MARRIES SISTER WHO IS 15 YEARS YOUNGER

0

In summary, my 21-year-old daughter (now 22) announced last year that she was engaged to a man, 36, who my wife and I had adopted as a son after his parents passed away. They claim they began dating when she turned 18, but we now know it began much earlier than that, though we didn’t find out about any of this until she was 21, so legally there was not much we could do.

The effects this had on my family were devastating. My oldest son has cut the family off. He can not come to terms with the man he grew up with as a brother being in a relationship with his sister. There was a physical altercation, and although they both said they were going to put their differences aside, that was really the last time we saw him.

My daughter had her baby, and the child is beautiful and doing wonderfully. My daughter and her fiancé have since gotten married in a very small ceremony. My wife is focusing mainly on the baby and helping out with the baby as much as possible. She says she sees the small ways in which he is controlling my daughter but she tries not to say anything. Holidays and birthdays are still awkward but luckily in the day to day, we don’t see him very often since we come over during the workday.

Ultimately, my daughter seems very happy being a mother so that’s the best outcome I could hope for.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Predators are masterful manipulators; this man groomed your daughter and has now trapped her legally. Just make sure she knows that while you don’t support her relationship with this man, you support her and will be there for her whenever she needs. Don’t engage that much with her husband; it might lead to isolation from you.
  • Find evidence and he did naughty things when his younger.
  • This is grooming

MAN THOUGHT PREGNANCY TEST KIT IS COVID TEST KIT

A photo went viral after a woman shared her pregnancy test results with her friend, the photo depicts two lines meaning the woman is pregnant.

“Quarantine Please”

However, the man replied the woman “damn hope you feel better, quarantine” thinking that the woman is tested COVID-19 positive just because that are two lines on the test kit.

Most people won’t make this mistake but one can see the similarity in both test kits as positive means indicated by two lines on both kinds of test kit.

Guess we most used to ART test kits rather than pregnancy test kits

MUM & 2 GIRLS DISTRIBUTES RED PACKETS TO ELDERLY @ WATERLOO STREET

A video went viral after an act of kindness was recorded on video, two girls were seen distributing red packets to the elderly with their mother at Waterloo Street.

Gave ang bao to elderly in need

The two young girls were seen holding several angbaos and gave ang baos to those elderly who are trying to make a living on the streets by selling simple items.

Some of the elderly were seen in wheelchairs, walking stick, and mobility scooters.

Their mother is showing them ways of expressing kindness to her daughters. Many netizens commented thinks that this is something better to do than just bringing their children shopping on weekends.

Here are what netizen thinks:

  • For those who comment why must video and “show off”, have they done anything like this family? If they have, good. If not, are they criticising them to make themselves feel better because they are not able to do something like this?Regardless whether they are “showing off” or not, if there’s money given to the needy, at least some good is done. They may just hope to film it down and spread good hoping others might do the same. Rather than just sitting behind a screen and shooting negativities away. That’s the problem with our society. When people do good, many are cynical. That’s why it’s going down the drain.End of the day, you just answer to your heart.
  • Charity come from the heart, not from publicity.
  • Better more no video madam, god bless you and your family
  • It’s not the amount that’s matters, it’s the heart /sincerity that matters. 有心就好,不是钱多或少的问题
  • From the voice of the mother think it’s a Vietnamese. If so, see what other national can be so kind to help our local needy. Keep it up and proud of you!
  • I hope your kids are able to do good deeds without the camera when they grown up.

WOMAN WANTS TO SPREAD HER “AROMATIC” FEET IN MRT

There is this saying that a person’s class is determine by behaviour and not by money, also known as money cannot buy class.

A photo has been circulating on Whatsapp after a woman took off her slippers and rest her legs on the seats in a MRT.

The woman wants to spread her” aromatic fragrances” in the air and make the seats dirty by doing so.

Here are what netizens think about her:

  • At least, she took off her slippers and did not let the whole dirty slippers on the seats.
  • She bought the MRT from SMRT. They are in ‘her’ train…
  • Parents who let their kids stand on the seats with their walking shoes on do more harm. It is also unsafe. When it comes to sudden braking, they thought using their arms as barrier could prevent their kids from getting flung off the seat.
  • She is showing how comfortable the train can be.
  • Some ppl say train not crowded so let her be.Her smelly salted fish feet step on the seat and then u sit on it, these ppl say it’s ok ar???
  • This is what her parents taught!
  • If you really thing that “At least she took her shoes off”.. please invite her to your house.

AUSTRALIAN BORDERS TO BE FULLY REOPENED FROM 21 FEB ONWARDS

0

Australia’s Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, announced earlier today (7 February) that the country will be reopening its borders fully to fully vaccinated travelers from 21 February onwards, according to Reuters.

Morrison said that “if you’re double vaccinated, we look forward to welcoming you back to Australia.”

According to Seven News, Australia has kept its borders closed to travelers for close to 2 years and ti was reopened to citizens, permanent residents, and their families, then international students, backpackers followed by migrant workers late last year.

Morrison said that the move is aimed at helping to boost the tourism sector of Australia.

Non-fully vaxxed persons required to apply for exemption

Australian Minister of Home Affairs, Karen Andrews, said that tourists who are not fully vaccinated, they would have to seek an exemption in order to enter the country.

These people will also be subjected to Australia’s quarantine protocols.

According to ABC News, Morrison reportedly said that even if the person has the proper Australian visa, he/she wouldn’t be allowed to enter if they were not fully vaccinated or doesn’t have an exemption.

He also cited the example of Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic’s deportation as an example and said that it should send a clear message to the world that being fully vaccinated is the requirement to enter Australia.

HUSBAND LEFT INHERITANCE TO EX-WIFE, CURRENT GF WANTS IT ALL

0

I was married to a man for 16 years and we had a son. After my son was killed by a drunk driver we couldn’t support each other. We divorced 6 years ago, I moved away and we haven’t spoken since then.

About a month ago I was contacted by the lawyer to execute his will and informed of his death. His latest will was written about a year ago.

When I went I was informed that he left me everything, except for $10k that he left to his girlfriend. They were together for 2 years and lived in the same house.

Now his girlfriend is demanding that I surrender all of the inheritance to her. She says that I wasn’t the one that was there for him when he was drowning in his grief, that I moved on while he was still feeling guilt over the death of our son.

I have refused so far, but I still feel a bit guilty since I am planning to sell the condo (our marital house, I couldn’t bear to stay in it after our son’s death) so she will have to look for housing (she can’t afford to, she doesn’t have a job). Also I make a good living and own a house outright (inherited from my parents).

I even offered her to stay at the house free of charge for the next 6 months before I put it on the market. Also, I offered her a choice of whatever she wanted to take from my ex’s personal effects and house furniture she wants to take. That and the continued use of the car.

So am I doing not enough, what should I do?

Here are what netizens think:

  • He left her money but felt you deserved more. She had her inheritance. Dont give her a penny. He clearly had a reason to leave it to you. I am so sorry about your son.
  • Your husband obviously seemed to still love you (and you him I’m sure) and many relationships can’t survive such a profound loss. He wanted you to be taken care of I’m sure, and had only been with the gf a short time. It’s very kind of you to give her time to get her life in order as well, but it might be smart to get a contract sorted with a time line.
  • That’s my thought exactly. The grief doesnt erase the love. But seeing someone everyday that reminds you so much of the loved one that you have lost is just too big an obstacle for a lot of people.
