According to a Police media release, the Police arrested a 43-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft of a vehicle component part.

The incident happened on 21 July 2021 at around 4.25 PM. The Police said they received a report from a victim that the battery from his lorry was stolen while it was parked at an open-space carpark located along Whampoa Drive. 

Tanglin Police Division investigated the case and was uncover the identity of the man through investigations and reviewing Police CCTV footage. The man was arrested on 29 July 2021.

Police investigations are ongoing.

If the man is convicted of the offence of theft of a motor vehicle or any of its component parts he can face a jail sentence of up to seven years and a fine.

The Police would like to advise all vehicle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

• Park in well-lit areas;
  
• Install an anti-theft alarm system; and
  
• Lock all vehicle doors and wind up all windows when vehicle is parked, even if it is for a short while.

Following the widespread criticism of Joseph Schooling’s last place finish at the Olympics, his uncle Max Le Blond has seemingly had enough.

He hit back at a critic who remarked: “so it’s ok to use state money but come in last in the heats as defending champion?”

He replied to the netizen’s claim that Schooling used the state’s money.

A netizen posted a photo of a person sleeping outside the corridor and a mahjong table was set up there. The neighbour was not wearing a mask and treated the corridor like their living room

The netizen who posted the photo said:

Ok or not ok? Neighbour put mahjong table outside the house and treat it as part of their living room.

Another netizen said that it could be a fire hazard and blocking people from escaping when disaster strikes.

A minimum clear escape passage of 1.2 m clearance is to be maintained from the parapet wall where the shoe rack is to be allowed.

No objects are to be placed along common corridors less than 1.2 m wide.

A photo emerged online showing a young couple displaying their love for each other at a staircase landing.

The guy was seen carrying the girl onto the side railing to kiss her.

The incident purportedly happened at a school staircase.

A girl took to Instagram to share that she thinks Joseph Schooling finished last because he was “complacent” and that it is because of Milo sponsoring him.

She added that “he wouldn’t even qualify once” as long as Milo continues to sponsor him.

She said: “Just because he won once doesn’t mean he will definitely win again, too bad SG, you only have one competitor, how utterly pathetic.”

Fly Entertainment boss Irene Ang, most well known for her portrayal of Phua Chu Kang’s wife Rosie, has been taking some heat on her social media.

She expressed her disappointment at Joseph Schooling’s last placed finish in his title defence at the Olympics.

She said she didn’t expect him to win, but “at least get into the finals lah right?”

She added: “And really just not get out so fast in heats and places last though right?”

She asked him to reflect on himself on what happened the last 4 years.

A netizen posted a complaint online saying that he wishes that smokers should close their doors and windows. His request is asking people to suffocate.

SMOKERS YES u can smoke at home BUT Can you please shut ur doors/windows tight and don’t smoke at ur window/balcony If u wanna smoke at home?

Do you stand at the window/balcony coz u don’t wanna smoke up ur own house but u let the smoke fly into other people houses to smoke up others houses? Of cause, u don’t intentionally let the smoke fly to other peoples houses but by u standing at the window/balcony, the smoke naturally will disperse and float into the house next to or above urs. So hope u guys be considerate and shut ur windows and doors when u smoke in ur house. and don’t even talk about corridors. It’s illegal.

At the end of the day, some self-awareness and consideration will make everybody happy and this issue wouldn’t have gone to the parliament! If u encounter such behaviour, email NEA and they can issue a warning/advisory to the person!
