My boyfriend is addicted to various financial products, especially stocks, options, and worst cryptocurrency.

Every night he’ll spend hours watching on the markets and trade. We had arguments a few times. He insists that cryptocurrency is the future trend, like everyone is trading these meaningless coins, and NFT stuff is cool and everyone is buying, blablabla can be used in the Meta world in the future.

I hate these cryptocurrencies because it’s a violation of general economics and financial systems, and most importantly, it’s illegal, and it has NO actual value at all. He has been playing with stocks and options for a few months already, along with his friend. I’m okay with him paying proper attention to the stock and options market, and winning or losing on that won’t be too much to afford.

I’m also kind of okay with him being a supporter of cryptocurrency because it’s ok to just recognize an emerging thing. But I have a very strong objection to investing in cryptocurrency, and I’m scared that my boyfriend will end up buying these coins and naively think he’ll earn some extra money for that. He’s been talking about the coins for a few weeks already, and I really don’t want him to be a victim of that market. I’ve tried to convince him not to touch it.

He promised but he doesn’t seem like has changed his mind. What should I do… I’m really scared he’ll get hurt.

Personally i prefer stocks and now there is a firesale, great time to load up. As long as he manages his allocations and risk properly, avoid the rubbish coins n tokens, nothing wrong with crypto.In fact I think it is closest to the most pure form of free market economics.   • Kindly go read up on Blockchain Technology and Smart Contract before you start blabbering that cryptocurrency is illegal and has no actual value.If U have no knowledge on the stock market and start investing in it, most probably U will be losing money in time to come. It’s the same with crypto trading.If crypto is illegal, our DBS and OCBC won’t be trying to set up their Crypto Exchange.So for those who have lost money on crypto, kindly gain a whole lot of knowledge first before stepping in.

“I have been stuck at my previous job for almost two years and life has been getting more and more mundane.

Even though the job is not that difficult and life was easy, it has made me lazier and lazier as the days go by.

I am earning decently, about $4k/mth and have a lot of spare time between work as once I am done with my daily tasks, I can just do whatever that I like as long as I do not take my company’s time to earn income on the side as it will constitute moonlighting and it would get me fired.

As I got lazier, I thought to myself that this is not what I wanted to do for the long run and I made a rash decision to quit the job and dabble in something else.

I eventually chose to go into the sales line as I see my friends in different types of sales all doing well and earning quite decently.

Little did I know that I was not cut out for this as my previous job has made me lazy, something which is not good when it came to sales.

I was lazy to prospect for potential clients or even follow up with some of the contacts which I have.

The amount which I take home a month now has also dropped drastically as sales job usually have a low basic and it is commission based, the more I close with my clients the more I take home.

I regret giving up an easy and comfortable $4k/mth for something which I thought was ‘easier’ now.”

“So this was actually a while back when I was still in my schooling days.

It was a long stressful day because I had the longest period of Math that day, something which I really detested.

I just got back from school and decided I was gonna head over to the bathroom and choke the chicken whilst watching some explicit content.

I was about 5 minutes in when I received a call from my mother who was at work.

I picked up the phone and she said to hand my phone to my dad (My dad rarely ever picks up his phone).

So I walked out of the bathroom while still at ‘attention’ and handed the phone to my dad.

They had their conversation, and my mother hung up.

The moment they ended the conversation, the explicit content continued playing on my phone and the volume of the noises of the actress was at full blast and could be heard clearly.

As soon as I heard it I immediately snatched my phone from my father’s hand.

He asked me what was that that was playing and I was like oh that was just some weird YouTube video I was watching.

He gave me that look before passing the phone back to me and told me to not make a big mess.

I then rushed back to the bathroom in embarrassment and continued what I was doing.”

I find the way my neighbor talks to my husband very flirtatious. She would text my husband instead of me when she needs help, for instance, to collect her delivery parcels when no one is at her home.

I wfh while my husband doesn’t. So isn’t it more convenient to text me instead?

We are both on talking terms with her, and I also speak to her more than my husband does. I mentioned this to my husband but he said he doesn’t find her flirty.

Sometimes she sends him good morning gifs which I find is so weird. We have a neighbors’ group chat and I don’t see her wishing others a good morning there?

FATHER OF TWIN BOYS FOUND DEAD, REMANDED FOR PSYCH OBSERVATION

Xavier Yap Jung Houn, the 48-year-old father who is accused of murdering one of his two 11-year-old twin sons, has been remanded for psychiatric observation, after his hearing that was originally set to be heard on 31 January was brought forward to 29 January.

He was then remanded at the Changi Prison’s medical centre for psychiatric observation and is due to return to court on 18 February, according to CNA.

Yap’s first court hearing was heard on 24 January where he was charged with murder and accused of murdering one of his twin sons, Ethan Yap E Chern, at the playground at Greenridge Crescent, in Toh Yi, Upper Bukit Timah.

Yap has yet to be charged for the death of his other 11-year-old twin son, Aston Yap Kai Shern.

The two brothers were special needs children and they were found dead earlier this month on 21 January inside a stormwater canal near the playground.

Their father had called the police that same evening and he was subsequently arrested for the suspected murder of his children.

Upon conviction, Yap faces the death penalty.

This is a few months old but I feel like I have to get it out of my head.

So I know most people have private moments in the shower or in the toilet but I’ve always done it in bed. I am living with my parents so I guess I just like the privacy of my room.

This is what I now realise and it is me being a weirdo – when it was time I would just pull up the blanket, roll over to the side a bit and cream onto the wall/below the bed.

I never really thought much of it and it never smelled bad so I just kept doing it because it was easy… Nobody noticed and people seldom visited my room anyway.

I used to only have private moments like once a week or so (maybe that’s why it didn’t smell?) but for a couple of weeks I started doing it every day, sometimes a few times a day.

This usually wouldn’t be anything out of the ordinary for a teenager but since I was always creaming on my wall/bed I began to get a bad cockroach infestation there.

I didn’t notice at first and since I’ve never had cockroaches before I didn’t really know what it was like but eventually I read up on the internet that cockroaches like to live in dark, moist places in the house and that made sense…

At first I felt really disgusted. I wanted to exterminate them but I definitely didn’t want my parents to find out what happened, so I tried to kill them by flicking them into a bowl of water and watching them drown.

But then I felt really bad.

I don’t know why but it felt like murder. I didn’t really dislike the cockroaches. I had never even seen cockroaches before and they were kind of interesting.

So I decided to stop killing them and kind of just let them be for like a week (at this point I finally began having moments in the shower).

I know this sounds really weird but I kind of began thinking of them as my children. It started out as a joke but then it got more serious.

Its like they were literally borne out of my cream so in my mind it made sense that they were my offspring in a way.

I actually want kids when I grow up and this was kind of like that.

I used to bring them food and stuff from the kitchen and play with them by moving them around the room or letting them crawl on me and I just got really emotionally attached to them for a while even though they were obviously just insects.

Then my parents found out. I think my dad saw one in the kitchen and immediately freaked out and called pest control when I was not at home one day.

So I decided that maybe it is time for me to move on and try not to bother her anymore

I have been doing great with not bothering my ex for the past month. I don’t know what triggered it exactly but I logged into accounts of her I did not touch in a long time.

It got me thinking about how I made her mad and let her down and it ultimately forced more honest self reflection by myself.

Realising I was the one who jeopardised our relationship I messaged her about 8 times this morning.

At the expense of my remaining dignity, I tried my best to salvage things between us as I really love her but she did not want to let me into her life again.

This really hurt me especially after I felt that I had always gave in to her but she could not do the same for me or understand from my point of view.

Doctor Jipson Quah aged 33 and his assistant Thomas Chua Cheng Soon aged 40 who have been kept in remand since 21 January 2022 have been offered bail today (31 Jan).

Background

Both Quah and Chua were accused of trying to defraud the Ministry of Health (MOH) together with a patient named Mehrajunnisha by falsely declaring her vaccinated with Sinopharm even though she was not.

It led to MOH issuing her a vaccination certificate.

No longer required to be in custody for investigations

The prosecution said today that both Quah and Chua were no longer required to be kept in police custody for investigation purposes.

Quah was offered a bail amount of $20,000 and the case was proposed to be adjourned for six weeks for further investigations to take place.

He was also instructed by the Deputy Public Prosecutor not to have any forms of communications with Chua and Iris Koh of Healing the Divide, as they are both linked to the case.

Quah’s lawyer had also pointed out that Quah would still have to communicate with some of the witnesses in the case due to work purposes.

The judge then said that he was allowed to communicate with the witnesses only for work purposes.

For Chua’s case, the prosecution asked for a similar adjournment and a bail of $15,000 was offered to him.

Chua had previously said that he did no deserve a heavier charge as he was only acting as a middleman and doing his job as a doctor’s assistant.

As for Healing the Divide Founder, Iris Koh, she will make an urgent application to the High Court for the purposes of obtaining bail on Monday morning.

Penalties

If Quah and Chua are convicted of dishonestly making a false representation, both of them are liable for a jail term up to 20 years, fined or both.

A Facebook user, 新新张, is appealing for witnesses to come forward if they have any recordings, footages or have witnessed a hit and run accident that happened on the KPE.

The hit and run accident happened on 28 January at about 10.53 pm, on the KPE heading towards TPE, after the Nicoll Highway entrance.

The netizen posted a photo of the crashed vehicle at the site, with its front bumper and side mirror severely smashed.

Shattered glass and parts of the car could be seen scattered all over the road.
