100 SUSPECTED DRUG OFFENDERS ARRESTED, MORE THAN 8KG OF DRUGS SEIZED

0

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) released a statement on Facebook yesterday about the arrest of 100 suspected drug offenders.

Over 8kg of controlled drugs were seized in the islandwide enforcement operation that was conducted from 17 to 21 January.

Here is the statement

In a recent island-wide operation, CNB officers seized a large quantity of drugs, including about 5,640g of heroin, 1,744g of ‘Ice’, 1,308g of cannabis, 5g of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), 24 LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) stamps, more than 3,000 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, 654 Erimin-5 tablets, and three bottles of methadone.

100 suspected drug offenders were also arrested.

Deputy Director of CNB, AC Leon Chan said:

“CNB officers will continue to keep a close watch on the ground for drug activities and continue with our robust enforcement to deter drug traffickers and take them off our streets.

Our laws are tough and well known. Anyone who chooses to harm others by selling and trafficking drugs know the serious consequences that their actions will bring.”

The total amount of drugs seized in the operation is sufficient to feed 2,690 heroin abusers, 1,000 ‘Ice’ abusers and 190 cannabis abusers for a week. Investigations into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.

MAN ADVICES: GF’S DRASTIC CHANGE IN WEIGHT AFFECTS RING SIZE

Helping fellow boyfriends here. How to do a surprise proposal in SG before BTO.

During the dating stage, I will make it clear to the girl that I am dating for marriage, looking for a committed relationship. So on the off chance that we may end up married, can the girl share exactly what ring she likes and her ring size. Then wait and date as per normal for years or however long yall want. Then by the time, you wanna propose, you have the ring size + type info ready to go.

One level higher is asking the girl what is her ideal proposal? the girl most of the time will share readily one. Commit to memory. must ah.

You may not end up with this girl la, but all the info is with you all the way liao and the girl defo will not expect it coz the wait could be years. Yall can plan the proper proposal before applying bto and you filter those that only wanna play, not looking for a serious relationship.

Also, if the girl has drastic weight change during the relationship, the guideline for ring size is……… +10kg to + 15kg = + half ring size to 1 ring size. So adjust accordingly.

Here are what netizens think

One of the netizens propose undervalued jewellery of brand but physically it does not hold much value in the market

Just get her a promise ring from pandora. Go tgt. Then u know the size alr. And she will keep wearing it, then you’ll know if the size change or not lo

  • So fast chope for marriage. Later if both not suitable how? Cry. Man man lai, take ur time to get to know first.
  • When you ready to propose, pretend tell her check the nut size using her finger. You may be lucky if she like the nut instead and save you money for bto…Don’t scare all the girls first time dating already talk marriage.

ENGINEERS DISCUSSED SALARY TRENDS, IS IT IN OR OUT

0

With the adjustments since the start of the pandemic that we have to make to our daily lives topics such as job security and salary is never far away.

A man posted a question online asking why his salary is lower compared to someone with lesser experience than him:

“I’m a mechanical engineering graduate from the 2020 batch and have been working in the silicon manufacturing company since then.

My average salary has been mid-3s with little increment; may be close to 4 now. I’ve recently noticed a peer of mine who graduated with an engineering degree and is working as a business analyst (I know, completely different from a ME degree) with pay of mid 4s and heard he’s joining a government stat board as a BA earning close to 6k.

Are we supposed to be earning close to 6k with at least 2 years of experience? Or is this out of the norm? Are engineers really paid that low?”

Here are what netizens discussed:

  • Hello i am a process engineer in manufacturing with 6 years experience, I cant even smell anything above 4K. Even a 4.5K asking salary is hard. Its across the board for the industry especially silicon (save for micron and a rare few), its better u change industry if u want a better starting pay.
  • Engineering is low pay and high work load… so no one wish to become Engineer
  • IT is the new in the industry. If you work anything related to IT (including analysis type jobs), you can expect your pay to be like that. Engineering is out. Your start pay is just about there unless your skill is specific to certain sectors. Business sector/jobs can be very profitable if you aren’t the front line manual worker.

Glassdoor

If you do a quick search on Glassdoor an L2 engineer typically gets paid an average of $43,000 which is almost $4,000 a month.

The average salary for Engineer is $3,950 per month in the Singapore Area. The average additional cash compensation for a Engineer in the Singapore Area is $7,500, with a range from $1,400 – $17,880. Salaries estimates are based on 2859 salaries submitted anonymously to Glassdoor by Engineer employees in the Singapore Area.

GUY WHO TOOK PHOTOS OF BIKINI GIRLS AT SILOSO, ISSUES APOLOGY

The guy who was caught taking photos of bikini girls at Siloso Beach, has since issued an apology to one of the girls via Instagram DMs.

The girls were seen in another video, confronting the guy, saying “the audacity to do it while your girlfriend is there, that’s —-ed up bro.”

The guy then replied “ya I know, I’m sorry about that.”

One of the girls then asked him for him name, to which he replied that it was “Benjamin” after thinking for a while, but the girls didn’t believe him and said “right, right… ‘Benjamin’ sure…”

They then told him “so you should let your girlfriend know what happened, cause she already does. Don’t touch me bro, what the —-.”

The guy then tried to say something incoherent, to which the girl told him “ya, you don’t have to touch me, I’m not your girlfriend.”

Here is the apology

“Hi, I would like to formally apologise for everything that transpired at the beach yesterday. I believe we did not get the chance to clear things up and I want to say I am so sorry for what I did.

I saw you girls doing what looked like a tiktok earlier and intended to take a picture on my way to the toilet to ask my friends if they recognised you from the platform.

I should have worded it differently and I am sorry for being defensive when you confronted me about it.

When I later encountered you girls again outside the toilet, I noticed you were recording me and I got defensive, and so I gave a false name.

I noticed someone trying to use the toilet entrance and tried to move you out of the way.

I should not have touched you in doing so and I am sorry for offending you and making you two feel uncomfortable.

I understand what I did was wrong. I am sorry for both taking photos of you without your consent and for how defensive I was over it afterwards.

I regretted my actions immediately and I am sorry that from our encounter outside the toilet I seemed unremorseful and unapologetic.”

GIRL COMPARES HER BF WITH OTHER, WILL NEVER BE HAPPY.

Just wanna rant a bit about my feelings lately. It’s been horrendously uneasy for me in the recent months, as it’s a regret that I’ve came across in my life. I perhaps need some advice on how to live with this specific regret.

My ex and I broke up for more than a year. We both were at fault, but for months after our breakup he was willing to pick up the mess to reconcile. He reassured me that he will change, he will compromise, he will try his best to give me the time and attention that I need, he promised to fix our relationship issues and not run away from them. However I firmly believed the saying that over is over and there is no turning back. Every time he texted me, I just blueticked without replying. He sent gifts to me at my office but I gave them to my colleagues or threw them away. He tried his best to reconcile me for about half a year before he finally gave up on me.

I guess sometimes my life is just a silly joke. Recently a close friend of mine told me that he is now together with an acquaintance of mine during JC. He doesn’t know that we were acquaintances, and she didn’t know we were together either. Long story short, from what I heard, he treats her extremely well. He does things that he didn’t do for me, like accompanying her to her nearest bus stop or mrt station after every meetup, surprise her flowers once in a while, took her to a cruise recently just because she loves travelling so much, went over to her place to cook for her, always refuses to quarrel back whenever they fight. As compared to me, my friend is much closer to her, so she shared with me a lot about my ex and his new girlfriend.

The more I think about it, the more I regret not giving him a chance. What’s worse is that I sometimes really hate this acquaintance, and I low key feels that she stole my happiness and I deserve thousands of thank you from her. There are times I wish they just breakup and he will return to me. It sounds absurd, and I know it’s wrong to think so negatively of her but honestly I can’t help it. If I could go back in time, I would gladly give my ex the chance to reconcile.

It’s terribly difficult for me to move on.”

MOTHER SCREAMS AFTER CHILD CAUGHT “MICKEY MOUSE”

A child’s innocence is simple and pure. A video has been circulating of a child who caught a rat and showed it to her mother.

The incident happened in Malaysia.

There is this saying, It’s the innocence of the child that makes them fearless.

The video was captioned “Mummy, I caught Mickey mouse

The mother then screams in terror and told her child to get rid of it.

Most netizens laugh but some others diss the adult that was filming as a rat’s bite can result in pain, swelling and harmful infections that can lead to puss-filled wounds.

Rat’s themselves are potentially deadly to humans as they carry a number of diseases such as rat-bite fever, salmonellosis and bubonic plague.

The rat’s urine/faeces is also absolutely toxic to the human body and result in organ failure which can be fatal.

One can only imagine if the child put it in her mouth.

COCKROACH FOUND INSIDE CP FRIED RICE, SEALED INSIDE PLASTIC WRAPPER

A netizen shared how he bought a packet of CP’s Chicken Sausage Fried Rice and allegedly found a dead cockroach sealed inside the plastic wrapper.

Here is the story:

“Never thought this would happen to me and from CP Singapore . Was trying to have a late night snack 10mins ago and found this upon opening.

Roach was shrink wrapped as you can see, so no way this was from outside contamination.

Am ziplocking it and contacting Singapore Food Agency (SFA) to see next course of action, if they want to take it back for investigation.”

  • Golden ticket like Charlie and the chocolate  factory
  • Extra bit of protein

GUY WALKS VERY FAST, SCARES WOMAN WHO THOUGHT HE WAS FOLLOWING HER

0

A guy shared a story of he accidentally scared a woman to think that he is following her on purpose while walking in the same direction on the way home.

The guy claims that he is generally a fast walker by nature and might have closed the gap that he had initially with the woman too close for her comfort.

Here is the story

“I was coming back to my place after finishing up some work in the office.

The route towards my building runs through a somewhat dark and quiet area, but is generally safe.

I was wearing black that day and had a black hoodie on me as it had rained earlier in the day and the weather was pretty cold to me.

There was a woman walking a good 50 metres in front of me and being a fast walker, I naturally started closing this gap. I walk with headphones in and get into my music so I didn’t even realise.

As I got to about 10 metres behind her, she looked back and I realized what it looked like and how creepy I must’ve looked.

I didn’t know what to do so I just started walking slower, which was probably even creepier.

I didn’t want to keep following her so I just turned and decided to take an alternate route, an extra 2-3 minutes, no big deal.

Idk if this is because I’m a fast walker or the route is quicker than I thought, but just as I rounded the corner to my block, I saw the same woman, walking into my block.

We make eye contact and she kind of froze there.

I panicked so I just turned around and walked quickly the other way, why you ask?

I don’t know ask my legs they did the thinking.

So, to the woman I probably scared the living daylights off, I apologise its my bad.”
