MAN CAUGHT FISHING AND ASSAULTED OFFICER WHO CAUGHT HIM

A man who was caught by an auxiliary police office for illegal fishing failed to comply and started to get physical with the officer.

29-year-old Chua Ci Jie who was a previous research officer at A*Star faces a total of 4 charges for his offences.

When and Where?

The incident happened on 30 November 2019, the man was fishing illegally at Upper Seletar Reservoir and was caught by an auxiliary police office for fishing in an illegal area.

The officer then asked for his details but he failed to comply and tried to escape. He ran down a slope, the officer grabbed onto Chua and they both roll down the slope.

Chua did not give up and pushed the officer away attempting to continue his escape.

Chua ran for 200 meters before he finally gave up and surrendered his identification card to the officer.

In Court, Chua denied the allegations, despite his identity and audio between them was recorded by the officer’s body camera.

If he had only surrendered and paid the fine he would have paid up to $5,000 fine for fishing at a no-fishing area that is managed by the Nparks.

Due to his actions, he is facing one count of using criminal force against a public servant on top of the charges for illegal fishing.

Using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of her duty, under Section 353 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence is punishable with an imprisonment term of up to four years, a fine, or both.

Chua will be back in court on Monday (Jan 18) to receive his sentencing

Norizal Mohamed Yatim, 33-years-old, is allegedly involved in a job scam and he was charged earlier today (18 January) with one count of cheating.

He is being accused to lying to a man and making him believe that a company called Empire Limousine Services had hired him to be a driver.

He is also being accused of lying to the victim to make him give him an iPhone worth about $249, as well as $230 in cash.

What happened?

Norizal allegedly committed the crimes near Telok Blangah Road on 13 December 2021, at the Seah Im Food Centre.

Police officers had received several reports about a man promising to help them get a “high paying chauffeur job”.

The victim were allegedly told to pass him about $200 for the job as “administrative payments”.

They were then allegedly told to buy a mobile phone, sign up for a telco line and hand over the purchased phone to Norizal for their use int he “chauffeur job”.

The victims were allegedly told that the money would be reimbursed to them.

However, the victims would then realise that they had been scammed when they didn’t get any monetary reimbursement, their phones back of the jobs that they were promised.

Police officers from the Clementi Police Division then arrested Norizal on Monday following investigations into the matter.

His case has been adjourned to 25 January.

Opening a shop and doing a Food and beverage business is never easy and sometimes they even receive bad reviews.

But it always depends on the business owner if he/her will take action to improve the business or in this case the business owner decided did not try to improve his/her business model but contact the student’s school which is the National University of Singapore.

A student left a Google Review and made a Douyin video stating that the restaurant was charging her items she did not order.

As she enters the restaurant, she was served a plate of peanuts. Typically in a Chinese restaurant, these snacks are free of charge. She was also not told if there will be a charge for the item.

During payment, she questioned the cashier about the $2 peanuts and the cashier gave her a bad attitude and said “It’s like that one”

She soon made a video on Douyin.com and told others to boycott the restaurant.

She left feedback for the restaurant but the restaurant operators decided to use her personal information to contact her school about the complaint. Details of the call were not published.

Message exchange between student and employee

An employee contacted the student and said that her boss is hostile to her review of the restaurant.

Here is her Google Reivew:

DO NOT PATRONIZE. Terrible experience at the restaurant. Was served peanuts as a snack, the waitress put it on our table without saying anything but charged us for it later on. I told the cashier that we weren’t aware that it should be paid, (it’s customary for some Chinese restaurants to serve complimentary peanuts especially at their price range) but was rudely told that “this is how we do it at our shop”.

I told the cashier that we should’ve been informed about our purchase when it was served but was ignored afterwards even after I made payment. She proceeded to serve other customers instead and I left the cashier without receiving any receipt. All in all, DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING FROM THE PLACE THAT WAS GIVEN TO YOU AT THE TABLE. Better still, do not patronize.

The waitresses there also JUDGE if they think you’re not ordering enough, and will push for an upsize, which is basically the same sized pot but claimed to have “more meat”. Food is overpriced and frankly too salty. Service is terrible.Not the first time experiencing this but wanted to give the benefit of doubt.

POLICE REPORT LODGED AGAINST SCHOOLGIRLS IN VICIOUS ATTACK VIDEO

The Ministry of Education (MOE) said that they have taken disciplinary actions against the schoolgirls involved in a vicious attack on another girl at a multi-storey carpark, according to The Straits Times.

The incident was previously reported and videos of the incident have seen been making the rounds on the internet and social media.

A spokesperson from MOE was quoted as saying:

“The school is aware of the incident and has taken educative actions, including the appropriate disciplinary measures.”

The Singapore Police Force also confirmed that a police report has been lodged and that investigations are currently ongoing.

According to Mothership, CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School have also confirmed that the girls seen in the video are not from their school.

Kuala Selangor: At Kampung Baru Pasir Penambang, a 56-year-old lady was allegedly killed by her own son.

OCPD Kuala Selangor Supt Ramli Kasa stated that they were notified of the matter at about 5.45 p.m. on Saturday (Jan 15).

The Malaysian Police arrived on the scene and found a woman’s body covered in blood, the suspect’s sibling found the suspect covered in blood and running away from the house.

The suspect is believed to be a 28-year-old unemployed man, he tried to hide in the bushes behind the house but was caught by the Police.

The police seized a parang from the house and the suspect was tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.

Investigations revealed that the man was jailed for criminal intimidation back in 2014 and had a history of taking drugs.

Our investigations revealed that the suspect and victim lived in the same house,”  said the Police

It is believed that the gruesome actions he took were under the influence of drugs.

The case has been classified as murder and investigations is ongoing.

Reporters tried to interview the family but was told off “We are still in shock. Please give us some space to grieve,”

DRIVER INSISTS ON MAKING ILLEGAL TURN AFTER TRAFFIC MARSHALL SAYS “NO”

A video emerged online showing a self entitled Volkswagen driver insisting on making an illegal left turn despite being told “no” by a traffic marshall.

The incident comes in the wake of the recent infamous incident invomcing a Bentley driver who insisted on having his way and driving into the Red Swastika School and trying to run over the security guard.

The latest incident involving the Volkswagen happened along Holland Drove Road on 17 January at around 1.47pm, and the driver was seen making an illegal left turn out of Henry Park Primary School.

Left turns on the road of the incident is not allowed and there were even road signs at the side indicating that drivers are not allowed to make left turns.

A traffic marshall was seen standing in front of the car and directing traffic, telling the driver that he can’t make a left turn.

The car then forced its way past the driver and went ahead with the illegal turn.

What does it mean when your personal information lands in the hands of hackers?

As a certified ethical hacker, the loss of information such as NRIC, Name, Race, DOB, Gender & address can lead to many complications.

When a hacker gets hold of the information, the information is typically sold online to scammers and to all sorts of criminals through illegal websites such as the dark web.

What is the Dark Web?

The dark web is the “dark side of the moon”. It means that it is a location of the internet typically inaccessible by an average internet user. The illegal deals include trading of information such as credit card, bank details and as far as selling guns and even drugs. (Not limited to what I have mentioned)

After the information is sold online, scammers will make use of the information to perform all sorts of scams. Typically, the most common scam is phishing scams.

What is Phishing scam?

Emails/SMS can be sent out to trick you to click malicious links which will lead to viruses or trojans infecting your computer. The trojan could be spyware on your computer and even steal your personal information such as bank login details!

Other kinds of scams could be vishing.

What is Vishing?

I guess most Singaporeans would have experienced the “You have a parcel at custom please pay….”

Or the recent OCBC scam and so on.

This is known as vishing.

Summary

The personal information stolen could be used to convince “make you believe” whatever they are trying to ask you to do or scam your money.

Chinese New Year is around the corner and while parents get busy with dishes and decorating most people are more interested in the Ang Bao (Red Packet).

The origins of hóngbo. It is customary to offer your friends and family a bright, gorgeous red envelope (known as, hóngbo) during Lunar New Year. But not just any envelope will do. These are packed with money and represent good wishes and luck for the next year.

Of course for kids who are single, this is a good thing. But for those that are married giving the ang bao is normally what many budgets.

A man recently posted a video online stating the types of red packets he will give to those who called him with names he wants to hear.

He begins the video by saying “If you call me uncle, you get this ang bao (2$)”. Then moves off saying:

If you call me “kor kor” you get this one ($10)

if you call me handsome you get this one ($50)

if you call me “man-god” you get ($100). “man-god” is a term normally used to describe extremely good looking guys.

With the recent rising number of scam cases we see in media, we have to educate ourselves to protect our life savings. A man recently shared his story online about how he was tricked into exposing himself and extorted.

We gathered a few of such incidents and compile it.

Here is the 1st story:

I met a girl through Tinder and soon we proceed to Whatsapp. After chatting for a while, she asked if we wanted to do a video call to chat. I was bored so I agreed. shortly after the chat did get a bit flirty and then we proceed to get butt naked over the video call. shortly after she ended the call and said it was laggy, so she sent a link (DO NOT FALL FOR THIS) and said why not we chat at her private room.

To login, is to put your number and the room number of hers. Stupidly I did it and shortly after she sent a video saying it got recorded and threaten to send it to my family and friends. the “manager” later called and threatened to send if I don’t transfer money to him now. I did not even have the time to react or to think. but luckily I managed to negotiate not to send the full amount. but still, money was still lost in the process.

If you received such threats, just block their numbers straight away and just ignore them.
Yes, I know you are afraid that they might send cos I was in the same situation as you. But just make a police report and block their numbers. because I believe even if you send the full amount, they will demand more. It’s never-ending, I was lucky that I negotiated to only send half over.

Brothers, I understand the needs or desires that we fall into. but learn from my mistake, don’t do online video call ever. Even if the girl seems genuine. Cos mine did too. And I admit I had some indecent video calls before but I never thought I would be a victim of this. Never get complacent. if their number ever starts with +852 esp, do not contact them ever.

2nd Story

She liked me on Facebook dating app and sent me her overseas number to add her via WhatsApp, while stating she is currently living in Singapore.

I asked her why didn’t she use a local number and she said she had been using her HKG number even when she is in sg. One night she found out i was alone and asked me for video in a private virtual room saying that it will be fun to do it with a stranger.

She also baited by saying that she would find someone else to do it if I wasn’t going to. I sensed some amiss so I reported and blocked her profile on Facebook dating, and came here to share my story so there won’t be the next unlucky victim of such cybersex extortion.

3rd Story

I met this girl on Facebook dating, and she seemed really genuine. It was also my first time using Facebook date or any dating platforms. she suggested that we move to line and continued chatting there. it started getting flirty and she asked if I wanted to do a video call which I agreed to. She did something compromising on video and asked me to do likewise.

She also asked me to download an app called private space whereby I had to key in my phone number and a referral code provided by her. I think this was how she managed to obtain my contact list. the next day the scammer threatened to send the video to everyone in my contact list if I did not pay $2000. made a police report and blocked all of the scammer’s numbers.

Guys if you all happen to experience the same thing as I did, please do not pay any money to them. I highly doubt that they will delete the video and stop asking for payment. I know that some of you may feel scared but it’s ok, these things happened. find someone trustable like your family members to talk to and it helps a lot.

26 Y.O MAN ALLEGEDLY EXPOSED HIS “BIRD” TO WOMEN AT ULU PANDAN PARK, ARRESTED

A 26-year-old man was arrested on 16 January for allegedly exposing his private parts to two women along Ulu Pandan Park Connector.

The Singapore Police said in a news release that they received several reports about a man who had allegedly exposed his genitals to two women on 29 December 2021 at about 11.15pm along Ulu Pandan Park Connector.

The identity of the man was then established through the use of CCTV and ground enquiries by police officers from Clementi Police Division.

He was subsequently arrested two days ago on 16 January 2022.

At the time of writing, police investigations are ongoing.

The police added that offenders who threaten the personal safety of others in the community will be dealt with sternly and in accordance with the law.
