46 Y.O MSIAN MAN ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY AT WOODLANDS PAWNSHOP

A 46 y.o Malaysian work permit holder was arrested today morning (Sep 3) for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery case worth S$35,000 in cash and jewellery.

He allegedly held up a pawnshop in Woodlands Street 31 in the afternoon of 2 September 2021.

His modus operandi

He showed a handwritten note in Chinese to the staff saying “Do not shout, I only need money. i have a knife on me, I do not wish to hurt people.”

He then allegedly used a knife to threaten another staff member who obeyed his instructions and passed him approximately $24,400 in cash.

He was also alleged to have grabbed a gold chain and a gold bracelet worth together about $10,747 before he fled the scene.

Caught by police

Within 16 hours of the robbery, the man was arrested at a unit in Sembawang Road.

Items seized by the police as evidence include a knife, the handwritten note, two pieces of jewellery, a shirt, a pair of pants and a bag.

He was also believed to have squandered away part of the stolen cash to gambling and part of it was used to settle his outstanding debts.

S$4,454 was recovered and the remainder is in the process of being recovered.

The man was identified by CCTVs and forensic technology.

He was believed to have acted alone and will be charged with armed robbery on Saturday.

FUNERAL AT JURONG WEST WITH OVER 200 PEOPLE

According to a video that has gone viral on social media, the number of people spotted at a Jurong West funeral far exceeded safety measures.

Netizens who are compassionate who are also furious at the lack of control said that there should be more enforcers in the area to at least separate the crowds from crowding.

First-time offenders who breach safe distancing measures are fined $300.

For non-compliance with safe management measures under the COVID-19 offenders may be jailed for up to six months, fined up to S$10,000, or both.

If they are caught by the Police for not wearing a mask or not wearing a mask properly they can be charged under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.

Penalties include a fine of up to SGD$10,000 and jailed for up to six months.

A video emerged online showing a teacher being surprised by her students outside a classroom.

They were seen surprising her by shooting silly string at her, catching her off guard.

The teacher was then seen covered in the silly string, much to the amusement of the students.

A video emerged online showing a group of students surprising their teacher with a present.

They were seen presenting their teacher (who is presumably a Manchester United fan) with a Man U jersey.

The teacher was so happy that he put on the jersey and did Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous “SIU” celebration.

YOUNG PUNKS NO WEAR MASK, GATHER IN GROUP OF 12 TO SHARE THE VIRUS

A photo emerged online showing a group of YPs gathering illegally in a group of 12.

They were seen without their masks on and neglecting social distancing as well.

Current Covid-19 regulations dictate a maximum group size of 5 persons.

MAID FILM HERSELF VAPING THEN DANCE AND FLASH GANG SIGN

A video emerged online showing a maid filming herself vaping in the kitchen.

She then broke into a dance and started shaking her backside.

She then took a photo of herself flashing a gang sign.

Under section 16(2A) of the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act (TCASA), it is illegal to possess, purchase and use vaporisers in Singapore as of 1 February 2018.

Persons found guilty of this offence can be fined up to $2,000.

67 Y.O UNCLE SLAPS & PUNCHED 12 Y.O BOY AT HOUGANG GETS JAILED

67-year-old Chua Chek Yong thinks that he is old and the younger people should listen to him confronted a 12-year-old boy who was cycling.

By exercising his authority on a 12-year-old he felt that he could boost his ego as an old man.

The man confronted the boy and told him not to cycle in the neighbourhood and told the boy to cycle on the footpath instead, the boy initially comply but returned later. The boy told the man that LTA allows cycling here but the man was not happy and said “You don’t argue with me”.

The man then threatens to damage his bicycle and started slapping and punching the boy several times. The boy started filming the man as evidence to protect himself.

The boy was punched in the face at Block 438 Hougang Avenue 8. Luckily, a passerby saw the commotion and protected the boy from further assault and help him called his parents.

The man was eventually arrested and jailed for 5 days.

60 Y.O AND ABOVE TO GET COVID-19 VACCINE BOOSTER SHOTS, 3RD SHOT COMING

Earlier today, Multi-ministry task force member Gan Kim Yong said that the country will be giving COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to those who are 60-years-old and above and those who are moderate to severely immunocompromised.

The first batch of seniors who completed their two shots back in March will be eligible for the 3rd shot this month.

The Ministry of Health will announce more details later.

USA also going for 3rd dose

Moderna Inc. said that it has submitted preliminary data to the US Food and Drug Administration for approval of a third-dose booster of its Covid-19 vaccine, fueling a controversy about the necessity for further injections.

In a clinical experiment, the booster injection boosted antibody levels against the delta version by more than 40-fold, according to the firm, which employed a lower dose of 50 micrograms, which is half the dose used in the current vaccination.

AH LONG SPLASH PAINT AT HDB UNIT, THREATEN RESIDENT OVER MONEY OWED

Photos emerged online showing the aftermath of Ah Longs harassing and splashing paint at the unit of a resident.

The front gate of the unit was seen covered in red paint, as the Ah Long also left a threatening note for the resident.

The note reads: “This time i came with warning and paint. Second time will not like this. Now you better settle to me 4k, if not have I will come again! Contact and settle.”

Paint was also seen splattered on the potted plants on the corridor.

The incident happened at Blk 60, Geylang Bahru.

VIETS IN LOCKDOWN TRY TO ESCAPE, KENA HANDCUFFED AND SWABBED

A video emerged online showing the chaos and mayhem in Vietnam during their lockdown.

A woman was seen trying to escape while being confronted and caught by a group donning PPE, handcuffing her.

Another man was also seen handcuffed and swabbed on the spot.
