MAN SITS ON TOP OF TAXI ROOF TO STOP WIFE FROM LEAVING, JAILED

Muhammad Shafiee Abdul Hakim, 34-yers-old, was jailed for 5 days after climbing on top of a taxi in an attempt to stop his estranged wife from leaving.

The incident happened on 10 November last year, when they had an argument and the woman wanted to leave but the man refused to let her leave, she then ran to Paya Lebar Square.

She then ran to a taxi stand to board a taxi but her husband followed her as she shouted for help, members of the public then tried to separate the man from her.

The woman then boarded a taxi, which Shafiee then jumped onto it as the taxi was driving away.

Tha taxi driver locked the doors as he was afraid of being attacked, to which Shafiee then climbed on top of the taxi and sat on the roof of the car.

The whole incident was captured on CCTV.

The thrill is just isn’t there anymore.

PROPERTY TAX TO BE INCREASED FROM 2022 ONWARDS, FOR MOST 3 ROOM FLATS & BIGGER

IRAS said in a press release on 1 December that the annual values of HDB flats will be revised upwards by 4 to 6 percent starting on 1 January 2022.

This will see most people who are living in three-room flats, as well as those living in bigger units, paying a higher property tax.

The revision in the annual value of HDB flats will be in line with the increase in market rentals and is part of IRAS’ annual review of properties to determine the amount of tax payable.

65 percent of three-room flat owners will pay an additional property tax of between $8.80 to $14.40 per year.

Owners living in 4-5 room and executive flats will pay between an additional $21.60 to $26.40 annually.

The annual value of HDB flats were last revised in 2017, and IRAS said that with the rising market rents of HDB flats this year, the annual values will need to be revised upwards.

Property owners who face financial difficulties can approach IRAS for help in coming up with a suitable payment plan before 31 January.

A video emerged online showing a motorcyclist falling off his motorcycle at a traffic junction during a red light.

The rider was seen waiting at a traffic light at the road junction when he inexplicably lost balance and fell off his motorcycle.

The bike also collapsed onto the ground, with the contents of the motorcycle’s box spilling out onto the road, as the rider remained lying on the ground.

The motorcyclist then sat himself up and remained seated on the road in a daze.

The kind camcar driver then alighted from his car and went to the aid of the stricken rider, helping him to lift his motorcycle back up (which by the way is very heavy).

They then put his things back into his motorcycle box before the driver went back into his car.

A video emerged online showing an errant cyclist riding on the expressway and being stopped by a traffic police officer.

The 6-second video clip showed the cyclist cycling on the expressway without a care in the world and seemingly oblivious to the TP officer behind him.

The traffic police officer was seen slowing down his motorcycles directly behind the cyclist, presumably trying to tell him to come to a stop.

It is unclear where or when the incident happened.

Potential penalties

It is illegal for cyclists to ride their bicycles (which includes power-assisted bicycles) on the expressways in Singapore.

Persons found guilty of the offence are liable to a fine of up to $2,000 or a jail term of up to 6 months.

A man who travelled from Malaysia into Singapore via the land VTL tested positive upon his arrival on 30 November, according to Shin Min Daily News.

According to a witness, there was a commotion at the waiting area when everyone was waiting for their Covid-19 test results after arriving in Singapore.

The bus reached Singapore at around 8.15pm in the evening after departing from the Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru.

Told to isolate himself

She said that one of the workers was panicking and yelling at the medical personnel, and a male traveller was instructed to segregate himself from the others.

The medical personnel then told her that the man had tested positive for the coronavirus.

The man was believed to have been travelling by himself and was not believed to have interacted and mingled with the other passengers.

According to a Police media releaase, 7 men between the ages of 37 and 53 were arrested, and 45 others are under investigations for illegal gambling activities.

The Police conducted an island-wide operation in Singapore which includes Marsiling Road, Norris Road, Bendemeer Road, Beach Road, Sago Lane, New Market Street, and King George’s Avenue.

Cash, mobile phones, and gambling paraphernalia were seized amount each of the locations.

Penalties

Under Section 7 of the Common Gaming Houses Act, the offence of gaming in a common gaming house carries a fine of up to $5,000, a jail term of up to six months, or both. The offence of being the owner or occupier or of which he/she has the use temporarily or otherwise thereof keeps or uses a place as a common gaming house under Section 4(1)(a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act carries a fine of not less than $5,000 and not more than $50,000, and a jail term of up to three years.

Under the Remote Gambling Act, any person involved in unlawful remote gambling shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or both. Any person involved in providing unlawful remote gambling service for another shall be liable on conviction to a fine not less than $20,000 and not more than $200,000, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.

According to the Police media release, a publication for the appeal of an individual appeared on the Police website.

The Police said that they are seeking the woman shown in the image above to assist with investigations into a case of shop theft.

The incident was reported to the Police on 24 October 2021 at Block 681 Punggol Drive (a residential area).

Anyone with information is requested to call the Police hotline at 1800-255 0000 or submit information online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness.

We have our fair share of relationships but some are just unhealthy.

A man shared his story online after he was told by his new girlfriend to pay for everything.

Here is the story:

Just got into a somewhat new relationship we just planned some travel plans. Not trying to be cheap, but in previous relationships any holiday trips overseas with my exs we pay our own airplane tixs but of course when it comes to hotels and dining I will gladly cover it. (married then different story lah i feel.

if married i got no prob paying :/) This gal however expected me to pay her full travel expense. I am not poor that after paying for it will make it a life-changing decision or something, neither am i rich that i like throw money out of the window and don’t bat an eyelid.

Not that i don’t “treasure” her, nor want to have the whole dumb “fair payment scheme” but i don’t get the whole self entitlement when she makes just as much as i do.

Just wondering through this conf poll what do you guys do in your relationships?
