A video was recently uploaded on the Facebook page SGRV which shows a man urinating in public. His actions were videoed by a resident who was staying in the area.

An elderly man was suspected to have be knocked down by an electric scooter, and fell face down to the ground.

A kind passerby went up to help and he found that the old man has broken his nose and his face was coveredwith blood. Blood could be seen dripping down from his mask.
The old man seemed to be in a state of shock and he did not remember what had happened but he did not forget to thank the good hearted man.

The incident occurred Tuesday (18th May) at the bottom floor of a HDB at the Whompoa area.
The passerby said that he found the old man, sitting on the ground, looking like his nose was broken as his face was covered with blood.

He would then pay the individual by giving him a bottle of cooking oil upon completion of the transaction.
On May 21, Zhang Wei Yao 56-years-old was sentenced to 91 months in jail. He pleaded guilty to 17 charges, including breach of trust, cheating and molestation. Another 103 charges were taken into consideration during sentencing.
In 2017, the accused lied to a woman that he is in the hotel reservation business and said if she invested 10 thousand dollars in him, she could get back the principal and interest of $1,400.
The woman trusted the accused and gave him more than $70,000. Shortly after, the accused used up all the money.
The woman repeatedly asked for the money back and so the accused invited the woman to a hotel room on September 27 to discuss. As she had borrowed money from the bank for this investment, she had no choice but to oblige.
When she arrived at the hotel room, she requested the accused to return the money. The perpetrator ignored her request and wanted to massage her legs instead. The woman initially declined but eventually, she agreed.
The accused started massaging her calf, then touched the woman’s inner thigh. The woman tried to escape, but the accused hugged her and wanted to kiss her. She then fled the hotel room.
To get back the money, the woman met the accused again in a hotel on October 17 but the accused molested her again. She then finally decided to make a police report.
The woman was severely traumatized by this incident, and no longer dare to approach men. She even broke up with her boyfriend of 2 years.
A 17-year-old teenager has been arrested by the police for allegedly being involved in car rental scams.
On April 12, a victim reported to the police that he was cheated by someone on Carousell. A cheap offer was offered by the seller for renting out a car.
After the money was transferred to the seller, the seller did not provide the service and was uncontactable.
Investigations revealed that this teenager might be involved in other frauds, and are still ongoing.
India’s Information Technology Ministry issued a letter to all social media companies, requesting them to take down all content that refers to the “Indian variant” of Covid-19.
They Indian government then issued a statement saying that media reports calling the B1617 covid-19 variant, the “Indian variant” were without any basis.
The letter asked companies to “remove all the content” that implies the “Indian variant”, it said:
“This is completely FALSE. There is no such variant of Covid-19 scientifically cited as such by the World Health Organisation. WHO has not associated the term ‘Indian Variant’ with the B1617 variant of the coronavirus in any of its reports.”
An Indian government representative said the notice was issued to send a message “loud and clear” that the “Indian variant” hurts the country’s image.
An unnamed social media executive said that it would be difficult to accede India’s request because there would be hundred of thousands of such posts, and that it would lead to a keyword based censorship going forward.
Recently, many cats have been purportedly found having deep linear slash-type wounds in the Ang Mo Kio neighbourhood blocks of 302, 316B, 335, 337, 343, and 346.
Treatment is being given for one of the cats at SPCA, and the rest of the cats are receiving treatments from private veterinary clinics.
The SPCA is requesting help from Ang Mo Kio residents to look out for the cats and suspects.
