This post is for awareness purposes and for Apple to know about their security system that they have which is so called world class.
On 13/07/2018, i got a shock of my life at night when i discovered that my account balance has been completely wiped out when i did not purchase anything. In disbelief, i made the call to DBS and asked for the transaction details for that day. Transaction details showed that i have purchased $700 worth of items in ITUNES WHICH I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT.SHOCKKKKED PART 2!
I am using Iphone 7 and all my card details are on my phone and nowhere else. I was in a family outing which was stayover for 2 days and just imagine the horror. I tried calling Apple but on Sat and Sun their lines are all on busy after 10pm. Incase of an emergency and need to contact them their hotlines are closed at night. SHOCKKKKED PART 3!
Now, knowing my account balance is empty next day i had to make the call and yes they responded promptly(GIVE CREDIT ABIT). After explaining the story blah blah and telling them that my account has been compromised. They cancelled the transactions. But sorry they have to investigate and after 10 days they will return the money. The problem here was,
1)Another icloud account holder used my account NOT MINE
2)I was told someone else who i might have known used my card. YES I KNOW BUT WHY USE IT IN ITUNES AND NOT ELSEWHERE. To that their reply was “its a very gd question”
3)I ONLY store my card details on my phone and if someone who got it is through my phone which means probably my phone is compromised or they used my card details stored in my app store.
(They kept insisting they could not have lose any information to anyone)
4) If someone else uses my card details on a different account why do i not have any prompt or notifications or why can someone else under a different account use my card details in the first place.
FOR ALL OF THIS THEIR ANSWER WAS IM SORRY SIR I CANT REVEAL MUCH BECAUSE ITS OUR PRIVACY POLICY. FKING SHOCKKED PART 3!
If u have reached to this long post at the end the main story here is for convenience we store our information on our phone or wherever but also rmb your information is conveniently available elsewhere. Pls share this post for awareness
A few weeks ago, as we were walking to the car, the rubbish truck trundled into our estate to pick up its daily load.
“Eeeeeeee!!” T said in his usual loud voice, as both kids covered their noses.
“So smelly right Mama?” said H.
We got to the car and as we drove out, we saw the uncles scrambling to pick up the rubbish bins and pour their contents into the truck. We took the chance to point out and explain to the kids that it was rather insensitive of them to have said and done what they did. We talked about how tough it must be to do the uncles’ jobs and how we ought to appreciate them for doing something that no one else wanted to do. We also talked about how some of these uncles have to work very hard to support their families back home and how they must miss them very much.
Yesterday I came home from work and H showed me some notes that she made of her own accord.
“It’s to say thank you for working hard to clear our rubbish,” she declared. I think our pep talk sank in.
We went down to the bin area and waited for them this morning. The truck came trundling up punctually and the 2 uncles who were hanging on to the back of the truck were surprised to see us there. The kids ran up to them with their notes, and the uncles broke into smiles when they saw them.
There’s been a lot of debate about inequality in this country. I’m not intending to add to it. I did however take the point that Teo Yeo Yenn made in her book— that change needs to start on an individual level. Rather than just think of what the Government can do more (don’t get me wrong, I do agree that more can be done), I have been thinking about what I can do on an individual level. I suppose this is one of the baby steps I will take – to teach my children to value, honour celebrate an honest day’s work with whatever resources they have at their disposal.
We are often taught as parents, to praise effort and not just results. But somehow, we don’t extend that philosophy to the people around us. Why should we not value the effort that is put into ensuring that a job is done well, even if it’s to ensure that garbage is collected on time and efficiently every day? If we, as a collective whole start to value and respect work that is done honestly and well, instead of merely placing value on that PHD as a measure of dignity and success, perhaps we would start rewarding excellence in work rather than the effort put into cramming for an exam or chasing after the next paper qualification. It’s a long shot but perhaps, perhaps, we will start seeing changes in the mindsets that have so entrenched the state of inequality that we are in.
“The poor, homeless and jobless Singaporean are increasing in number.”
“While FOREIGN WORKERS who earn A GOOD AMOUNT OF SALARY is INCREASING IN NUMBERS and these people will be a citizen or the least the PERMANENT RESIDENT of Singapore.”
Bedok today, Very fast, can the Authorities step up more on this? There is a reason why people die. The reason is that of all this goondu on the roads.
The driver gets into trouble for nothing thanks to all these morons on road.
Bought two bottles of Animal Parade Children’s multivitamin 30 fl oz from them in June, in two separate orders online. But they delivered two 8 fl oz bottles instead. Emailed them on 3 July, they said will check. But they only came back with an answer today, which is two weeks later (after a reminder email sent on 12 Jul).
They said that “For the items mentioned, the correct volume of the product is 8 FL oz. The image indicated was wrong on website and we will proceed to amend it accordingly.”
It is not just the image. Both the text description and image stated that it is the 30 fl oz version. What’s worse is, in their reply, they did not even offer a refund.
Just expect me to suck it up. Never expected this from Watsons.
Fellow Reditporeans, this samurai is on the verge of a breakdown. (Not going to do anything foolish, but just crushed. Utterly crushed.) I am going to refrain from disclosing too much, especially given on a public platform like here …
I have been roaming around Reddit for fun & giving strangers emotional support (because benevolence is the code I get by) , but now it’s time for me to admit that I need help. for myself.
I’m in my 20s & I have been hunting for a job since Jan 2018. Have went for interview after interview … & I keep failing every single one of them. I wear the best attire, put on the best attitude … But cannot pass. Today having been informed I failed another one yesterday, I am just wondering if companies have discovered something horrible (i.e: a criminal record) in my background check so as not to hire me.
I confess: my life in childhood & adolescence had a lot of challenges (Illness, hardship, school struggles, etc) … I had severe anxiety disorder, social anxiety (all which were of many years past & not affecting me anymore) .. But there was once upon a time I had suicidal ideation bad enough to be admitted to SGH. I am just wondering if that is the culprit that prevents me from securing a job… Please advise. (Serious replies only. Thanks.)
