Different cultures across the world help each other in times of need. During these times of crisis such as the current Covid-19 pandemic, charitable deeds are performed all over the world in their own very way.
In Pattaya, Thailand, a Thai local noodle stall owner and a roadside barbecue meat vendor came together to a organize charity drive. With no backing from any charitable organizations or sponsors, friends and family came together, to cook and purchase daily necessities to distribute to the poor and needy.
A total of 700 people were fed
The charitable drive took a week to prepare as the purchase of daily necessities were difficult, as supply was scarce. During this trying period, their businesses were forced to close, and their earnings suffered, but that did not stop them from doing their part for society. Both business owners do not come from a rich background but they do have deep roots within the community.
A total of 700 people turned up, their temperature was taken as a precaution before food was distributed to everyone of them.
In response to media queries stall owner, Khun Dew stated : “I’m just trying to do my part for the people. I had to close my shop and I have zero income now, but I think I can still survive. Even though I come from a humble background, there is no end to compassion. There are many worse off than me.”
Lets all work together to overcome this global crisis.
The woman not only defies the COVID-19 circuit breaker rules and also allegedly assaulted another woman.
The incident happened on 3 May 2020 at around 12.16 PM.
According to the Police, the woman is a 40-year-old Singaporean and she allegedly assaulted a 47-year-old woman at Shunfu Mart.
The Police media release states that: “Preliminary investigations indicated that a 40-year-old Singaporean woman, who had previously breached safe distancing measures, was not wearing a mask and allegedly assaulted a 47-year-old woman who advised her to put on a mask”
The police do not take lightly of people that breached circuit breaker rules and offenders will be dealt with harshly.
According to a Facebook post published by Weihorng Wha, he is appealing for witnesses who may have seen this individual in the video.

Chinese authorities have have yet to share samples taken from wild animals sold at the Wuhan market where China claim the outbreak began.
According to the latest media release, 60-year-old Pay Kiaw Keng has landed in ‘hot waters’ after his continuous defiance against the law.
He was first caught for not wearing a mask at Hougang void deck. He was later escorted into a police vehicle and he started to verbally abuse an officer.
He was charged earlier today under COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020 for not wearing a facemask at the void deck of Block 644 Hougang Avenue 8 on 2 May 2020 (Saturday). He was caught at around 9.05 AM.
He faces an additional charge for verbally abusing a Police office at 10.05 AM when the police vehicle was en route along Woodlands Avenue 12.
Spat at Police Officer
He allegedly spat at the police officer’s right arm while he was at Woodlands Police Division Lockup. This action caused him to land another charge for using criminal force on a public servant.
He has since been remanded at IMH for psychiatric assessment. He will be back in court on the 18 of May 2020.
For anyone that is found guilty of breaching the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures), Act 2020 will face up to six months and/or fined up to $10,000.
For verbally abusing a public servant, he is facing jail time of up to 12 months and/or fined $5,000.
If found guilty using criminal force against a public servant, jailed up to four years, fined
According to a media release from the Ministry of Health Singapore, one of the medical personnel working in the Expo community care facility had been tested positive for COVID-19 on 02 May 2020.
As per MOH media release:
Case 17881 is a 34-year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 2 May 2020 and is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.
She is employed as a nurse by the Health Promotion Board and is deployed to the community care facility at Singapore EXPO, but had not gone to work since the onset of symptoms.
With the effect to fight against COVID-19 EXPO was converted into an isolation facility last month. This facility will help to reduce the pressure on the local hospitals allowing them to focus better on those patients in need.
With the circuit breaker in place, there have been many people behaving irresponsibly and flouting circuit breaker rules.
It is clear that anyone that leaves their home would need to wear the mask at all times and especially on public transport.
However, a man was spotted talking on the phone that was travelling towards Pasir Ris on the East-West Line, she spotted a man talking on the phone for over 15 minutes.
The incident happened yesterday(4 May) evening at around 9.10 PM

For those that are caught by the authorities for not wearing a face mask in public will be fined $300, and repeat offenders will face higher fines or prosecution in court.
