SMRT BUS DRIVER INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS, BUS NUMBER 972

According to the latest media release, a Bus captain that is working with SMRT is one of the latest cases found infected with the coronavirus.

The bus captain last went to work on the 27th of March and drove bus service 972.

On 28th of March he did not went to work, but on 29 of March he was unwell and visited a doctor and again on the 31st of March. He was send to the hospital via ambulance and tested positive on 31st of March.

Contact tracing is currently ongoing and vehicles that came in contact with the infected bus captain has been disinfected.

President of SMRT said:

“The health and well-being of our commuters and staff are our top priority. We would like to assure commuters that all necessary precautions are being taken to safeguard the well-being of our commuters and staff. SMRT has stepped up its cleaning of high commuter touchpoints in our premises, facilities and vehicles since late January.”

MAN SHOUT “CORONA CORONA” AND SPIT AT HOTEL LOBBY JAILED

According to a media release, a man was sentenced in 2 months jail after he was found guilty of committing a rash act and a Public nuisance.

The incident happened on 3rd March 2020 at around 10.30 AM, Jasvinder Singh Mehar Singh arrived at the airport at Terminal 3 and was going to Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel.

He was dining at the buffet line of the hotel without informing the staff.

A waitress who was working spotted him and told him that the restaurant was closing, he got angry and smashed the plate on the floor and spat on the ground as well.

The manager then tried to stop him and made him sit at the lobby of the hotel, he then placed both of his feet on the table and kicked off a sign from the table.

He spat again and this time shouting “Corona Corona”

The Police arrived sometime later after the incident was reported to the Police at around 10.45AM

BUKIT MERAH HDB BRANCH CLOSED AFTER 2ND EMPLOYEE TESTED POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS

Housing and Development Board’s located at Bukit Merah branch is temporarily closed.

A second employee working has been tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Less than 1 week ago HDB confirmed on March 27 that a staff member at the same branch had contracted the virus.

SINGAPORE REPORTS 4TH DEATH FROM CORONAVIRUS

According to the latest media release, Singapore reported its fourth death case that is related to the coronavirus.

The 68-year-old Indonesian national patient died earlier today at 6.43 AM.

The patient had a history of diabetes and hypertension

He is a work pass holder and travelled to Indonesia from Jan 20 to 16 of March

He was admitted to NCID on 22 of March, and test results confirmed he is infected with the coronavirus on the same day.

He has been in intensive care unit (ICU) since the 26 of March and died 7 days later

As of Wednesday, Singapore has reported 1,000 cases of COVID-19.

THOUSAND OVER PEOPLE WENT TO COMMUNITY CENTERS TO APPLY FOR $500 FINANCIAL AID

According to the latest media release, over 3500 has gone to Community centre and social services centres to submit their application for S$500 Relief Fund.

It is good that there is a temporary fund to help those people who are suffering from loss of income and are affected by the Coronavirus.

But a queue was seen at Marine Parade Community Club, a News article published by TODAY titled: “Thousands of people queue to get S$500 financial aid at social service offices and CCs as applications open”

Shouldn’t the application for the financial aid be applied digitally? why is there a need for thousand over people to come out and gather at places?

Many of the applicants are people that work in entertainment venues or Taxi/Grab Drivers.

UNITY AT NEX MALL CLOSED FOR 2 DAYS, EMPLOYEE INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS

A Unity Pharmacy located at NEX shopping mall is closed temporarily after a part-time retail assistant was diagnosed with the Coronavirus.

According to the media release, the employee is currently hospitalised and other staff who worked in the same outlets has been put on a leave of absence.

The employee last went to work on the 30th March 2020 and was confirmed with the coronavirus on the 1st of April 2020.

The outlet is currently closed and will reopen tomorrow on the 3rd April 2020.

“Unity is monitoring the situation closely and is working with authorities to assist them with contact tracing and ensure all stores are safe for customers and staff,”

NTUC AT BEDOK MALL CLOSED FOR 3 DAYS, EMPLOYEE INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS

NTUC has closed the outlet located in Bedok Mall after one of the staff was infected with the Coronavirus on March 31 2020 (Tuesday).

NTUC stated that the supermarket will be closed for 3 days and will reopen on the 4th of April 2020.

The employee is a staff that is working in the store and the employee’s job role includes replenishing of stock.

The employee last worked on the 25 March 2020 and visited a doctor on the 27th of March 2020 after having a fever.

A noticed was seen at the outlet telling customers to go to the nearest store at Blk 212 Bedok North Street 1 instead.

STUDENT AT PALM VIEW PRIMARY SCHOOL INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS

According to a circular for parents, a student studying at Palm View Primary school has been confirmed with the coronavirus.

The student last went to school on the 30th of March 2020.

The student was well when last In school on Monday, 30 March 2020. The student continues to remain in high spirits while receiving treatment. Students and staff who had been in close contact with the student will be placed on Leave of Absence (IAA) with immediate effect for a period of 14 days from today. 1 April 2020.

During this time, the school will conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the school premises. These measures are In place to ensure that our school remains a safe environment for teaching and learning All students and staff are reminded to continue to observe good hygiene practices and to see a doctor immediately if feeling unwell.

The school will resume on Friday, 3 April 2020. In the meantime, we understand your child may be affected as some of their teachers and peers are placed on LOA. We seek your support to talk to your child and discuss ways to look out for and encourage their peers who are affected.

CORONA CASES IN SINGAPORE HITS 1000, ANOTHER 2 CLUSTER IDENTIFIED

According to the latest media release from MOH, 74 coronavirus cases were confirmed earlier today bringing the total patients in Singapore to 1000.

Two new clusters have been identified

  • Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home at 1 Thomson Lane
  • Workers Dormitory at 55 Sungei Kadut Loop

Out of the 74 cases, 25 cases are unlinked, relevant authorities are currently conducting contact tracing.

29 are linked to previous cases and the rest is imported.

Cases from public healthcare sector

Case 951

Case 951 is a 29 year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. She reported onset of symptoms on 30 March, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 31 March afternoon. She is currently warded in an isolation room at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

She is employed as a clinical research coordinator at SGH. Prior to hospital admission, she had gone to work on 30 March but had not interacted with patients.

Case 952

Case 952 is a 37 year-old female Singapore Citizen who had been in the UAE from 14 March to 20 March 2020. She reported onset of symptoms on 30 March, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 31 March afternoon. She is currently warded in an isolation room at SGH.

She is employed as a nurse at SGH. Prior to hospital admission, she had gone to work on 30 March.

Case 978

Case 978 is a 26 year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. She reported onset of symptoms on 31 March, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 1 April morning. She is currently warded in an isolation room at National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

She is employed as a doctor at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital but had not gone to work since onset of symptoms.

BISHAN CPF CENTRE CLOSE FOR DISINFECTION AFTER CONFIRMED CASE VISITED

According to the media release, a visitor who is tested positive for the Coronavirus has visited The Central Provident Fund’s (CPF) Bishan service centre.

The center has sinced been closed for disinfection.

The Server center was shutdown on the yesterday 30th March, after MOH contacted CPF board that a member was at the center on the 23rd of March 2020.

It will reopen on Wednesday

The center has been closed and appointments has been rescheduled or assigned to other CPF service centers.
