48-year-old Wu Liqiang found out that his 15-year-old son was bullied by two friends. In order to get revenge for his son, he meets up with the two friends and slapped them. He was charged and fined S$4,000.

The incident happened on the 13 of May 2019, Wu received a phone call from his wife saying that a group of young people were looking for his son. The defendant went downstairs to meet the group of young people. In the process, he learned that his son’s two friends had said bad things about his son.

He wanted to to get revenge for his son’s bullies, the next day he used his son’s mobile phone to meet one of the 14-year-olds. He would meet with the other at 3:30 pm on the same day at Coffee Shop 526, Jurong West Street 52.

The defendant questioned the two youths in person if they had said anything bad about his son. The youth denied doing so and ran to the playground nearby.

After the defendant chased after him, he questioned the two youths again at the playground. One of them was worried about his safety and admitted to the defendant that he had said bad things about his son.

The defendant slaps the young man in anger, slaps him and insults him with his middle finger and swear words. Another young man was given two slaps.

After the beating, the defendant warned the youth not to say anything bad about his son. The two victims did not seek medical attention but reported to the police station the next afternoon.

Singapore News – According to media reports, a case was reported to the Police of a man forcefully grabbing a girl and kissing her multiple times.

The incident happened on 6 of May 2019 at around 8 pm, the victim took her pet cat downstairs for a walk. At about 8.43 pm, she met the defendant, who suddenly approached her and started talking to her.

Although the victim did not know the defendant, she had seen the defendant in the neighbourhood and thought it is polite to stay and listen to what he has to say. The more she heard the more she felt uncomfortable, but she did not leave because she did not want to be rude to the defendant.

Unexpectedly, the accused suddenly pulled her right hand, kissed her right cheek, grabbed her by the neck and kissed her right cheek again.

The victim shocked and tried to leave, the defendant grabbed her neck to prevent her from escaping and tried to kiss her again, but she covered her mouth with her hands and turned her head away and the defendant tried to kiss her left cheek again.

The defendant finally let go of the victim, asking her not to bring it up with anyone and tried to reach for her hips when she ran towards the staircase. When she got home, she told her mother and decided to call the police after consulting her father.

The defendant’s crime was caught by a CCTV camera located at the entrance of the staircase. The Police were able to identify the man and he was arrested the next day.

The prosecution pointed out that the defendant insisted on the indecent assault victim, not only did not let the other party leave but also forced her to kiss her three times.

He was sentenced to 3 weeks of jail.

According to a media release by the ICA, a 29-year-old male and a 42-year-old female was referred to the Singapore Customs after cigarettes were found in a car at Woodlands Checkpoint.

The incident happened on the 23rd December 2019, ICA officers at Woodlands Checkpoint were suspicious of the a Malaysian-registered vehicle and directed the vehicle for further checks.

Upon further inspection of the vehicle, the officers managed to find 47 cartons and 230 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes in the car seats of the vehicle.

According to a statement by the SP group that was told the press on Monday, Electricity tariffs will increase in the first quarter of 2020.

The increase will be by 0.81 cents per kilowatt-hour. Households will be expecting to pay for electricity at a rate of 24.24 cents per kWh hours. This will translate to an average of $2-$3 more a month for a four-room flat.

According to a Police media release, a 55-year-old man has been arrested following the incidents of a motorbike that was burned to a crisp. The police arrested the man under the grounds of suspicion of mischief by fire.

The incident happened on the early morning of Christmas day, the police were alerted of the incident at around 4.30 AM .

Thankfully no one was injured.

Police from Bedok Division were able to identify the suspect through ground enquiries and Police CCTV and he was arrested yesterday (29 Dec 2019).

The man will be charged today with mischief by fire.

If convicted, he will looking at up to 7 years jail and/or fine.
