Treating cabbies n grab driver as though they own this country..You all can read full story via strait time news or google ( Norwergian guy hit 2 cabbies).
German tourists charged $26.00 for a $16.00 Grab trip by Changi Recommends.
The only way this could happen is someone at the pickup area or counter approach the tourist and offer them a ride. The cheater then uses his phone to book the grab for $16.
But he told the tourist its going to be $26 in cash.
The driver realized that the tourist has been cheated and told the tourist to report it to Changi airport. Is it unethical?
This happened on 23rd April 2018, my brother and I arrived in Changi Airport, Singapore in the morning at about 7.20am and intend to use GRAB to go home ($16 according to app) but seeing that there was no queue for Taxis, we decided to just take a taxi back home.
The taxi that we took was a Silver Cab (Premier Taxi). When we boarded his taxi, it was strange that he only set the meter after he drove off for a while. Once he had set the taxi meter, I saw the amount of $40.00 reflected on his meter which seemed weird to me because usually it is the normal meter running and a surcharge of either $3 or $5 from Changi Airport.
We thought that there was an error on his meter, therefore, we did not question him yet.
As we reached our destination, he told us that we need to pay him $40.00. I asked him if he was sure of the price as what I know the charge is based on normal meter plus the airport surcharge and not more than that.
He insisted that he got the price from the system and it is $40.00. As we did not want to debate with him further, we decided to pay him first and bring the matter to Premier Taxi and hoping that we will get a refund since he cheated on the fare. We wanted to pay him by credit card, he said that his machine wasn’t working therefore we paid him in cash and asked him for the receipt. The receipt given by him was not electronically print, it was a hand-written official receipt with Premier Taxi logo.
When we got home, I called Premier Taxi immediately hoping that they will take action against the taxi driver who cheated us on the fare and refund the excess money.
They mentioned that they need to investigate the matter and have an interview with the taxi driver. They called me back after 2 weeks and said that they were not able to locate the taxi driver and that he was already being terminated from the company.
They asked for more time to locate the driver as he did not answer his mobile phone and even his family did not know his whereabout. One month after the incident, Premier Taxi called me again and this time they said that they no longer able to help me on this and decided to close the case.
I just want to highlight to the public to not be deceived by such taxi drivers. I will not include the name of the driver as I do not want to prolong the matter but just be careful.

Ytd 7.50am Took a Grab call fr 25 Cove Way to Biomedical Grove. In note wrote as Ayer Rajah to Fusionpolis. 2 Ang Mo passengers (should be husband n wife)On AYE gps shown to turn out by Portdown but passenger insisted to go further down n turn out by North Bouna Vista.
Thinking that pax should be everyday using the road so he might know to avoid jam I obliged. Upon reaching Fusionpolis the wife dropped off. But the guy gave me direction to Biomedical Grove. I told him this considered as 2 destination why didn’t he booked multiple stop? He claimed he don’t know.
So I told him I will called Grab n charged him extra stop. He got the cheek to tell me must listened to him cos I am working for him n not Grab! And upon a turn to Biomedical Grove at traffic light, he just alighted off at traffic light without closing the door! Bloody Idiot!
After that he called Grab n complained I am rude and did not send him to destination n refused to pay for the ride. Worse part is Grab without clarifying w me n cancelled the Job!!!
Now Grab apologized and agreed to pay me fare. I believed this idiot Ang Mo doing this not the first time cos he mentioned the extra stop charges has been argued many times.
Do we have any law against animal abuse? Hate to see owners leaving their dogs in their car during such a hot day, am not surprise if owner is comfortably seating for late breakfast at coffeeshop just behind the car..
also not surprised if this is a regular event as dashboard seems layed out for this..

Hi Singapore Airlines, it is really upsetting to experience what I have gone through for my Bangkok Trip. I booked my tickets for my Aug Bangkok Trip in Mar 2018 via the phone app. The phone app promoted me to choose the seats and indicated clearly that I had to pay for the seats. So I selected my preferred seats and was promoted to the payment page.
Upon payment, I received an email stating “Your booking is confirmed.”, the email stated the seat I have chosen and so I did not think too much of it.
2 days before my flight, my nightmare started. I did my eCheck-in, during my eCheck-in I discovered the seats I have chosen have been taken up! I called your hotline and I was told “technical glitches happen all time”, “Emails from SQ cannot be trusted”, and “It’s better to call in to check if the seats I selected have been paid for”.
I mean what kind of replies your CSOs provide to me! They even had to caution me about your website and app having constant problems! Singapore Airlines being the first/world class airport provides such experience to your customers, it is really disappointing and makes me think twice about purchasing the tickets from you again. I hope you can look into it and provide an explanation of the technical glitches that your CSOs claims.
Amidst all these unhappy experiences, I did encounter a good counter staff at the Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi Airport, his name is Rattaaart Oatwap. He was very patient and helpful to my requests. Please let Rattaaart know that he has done a good job and he should continue to maintain is good service!
