MAN SCAMMED OVER $15,000 OVER FAKE AP WATCH

Good evening. I would like to make known that my friend and I were scammed by a man Jared Ang Hsien Loong. We really need the help of everyone to spread the news and find out the whereabouts of this person so that we are able to recover our losses and bring the scammer to justice so he doesn’t go around scamming others.
On the 15th of July 4pm a man sold us a Fake Replica Audemars Piguet.

On 15th July, a man(Jared Ang Hsien Loong) attempted to sell me a ValueMax Audemars Piguet (AP) watch pawn ticket valued at $4000 via Carousell, stating that his grandma was in hospital and in urgent need of cash.
That afternoon we met outside the pawnshop and was called in by one of the pawnshop staff standing outside. It felt like the pawnshop worker already knew the guy,Jared(Scammer).

So I went in with Jared and we each paid $2000 to redeem the watch out. I agreed to pay Jared(Scammer) another $13,000 for the watch upon redemption because he said that I can give him the rest of the money when he gives me the box and papers.

While my friend and I were checking the watch, he rushed us and told us that his grandma is in hospital and he needed to rush off as this could be the last time he sees her. So I quickly handed him the money ($13,000) as I thought I didn’t want to take up too much of his time and plus the watch was taken out of a reputable pawnshop, ValueMax Bedok 218 Outlet, so it should not be a fake.

After the deal, my friend and I took a closer look at the watch movement. Soon to realise the quality of the watch is not the same as the authentic one. I then called up Top Hour Uncle Keson Lim and sought help from him. His shop was closed on that day but he was very nice to let me go down to his house to do the verification because I’ve known him for very long. He told me this watch is 100% fake. I am very thankful for his help on that day.
We have already contacted the police with regards to this case and we hope to seek help from from anyone who knows this guy who sold us the watch to ask him to return the money.

One thing I’d also like to bring up is that why did ValueMax take in the watch knowing that it’s a replica fake watch? And why did ValueMax, knowing that this is already a fake AP, not call the police to arrest the guy who pawned it. But instead ValueMax workers called him back to redeem the watch? What are the chances of pawnshop taking in fake watches given that their staff are so well trained.

There’s really a possibility that the workers in the pawnshop are in working together with this guy who pawned the watch as when we visited the pawnshop on the following day 16th July the guy(Jared) would message us to tell us not to go to the pawnshop and it has nothing to do with them. How does Jared even know that we are in the pawnshop when he wasn’t even there?

Did someone from the pawnshop keep in touch with him?

Thank you for reading and below are the relevant pictures with regards to this case.
We sincerely hope that this will come to an end and this Scammer will be brought to justice. We are really very disturbed by this incident. Nowadays things that come out from such a reputable pawnshop(ValueMax) also is fake.
Please share this piece of news and don’t let the scammer scam others already.
$15,000 is a large sum to my friend and I as we are still students, not from rich background and not earning much money.
Any help given will be very much appreciated.

INDIAN FT SCAMMER “CHECK WATER LEAKAGE INSIDE YOUR HOUSE!”

This Indian FT guy and another partner came to my house this morning saying that he is responding to our complaint of water leakage. Told him that no complaint made but he insisted to just come in and check.

He brushed off my Qs asking where he is from and kept on saying that they will come in for awhile only.

I declined and asked them to leave immediately. As they walked towards the lift, I see no tool bags at all. So friends be very careful..

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our staff, Ms Michelle Low Hwee Geok, on the evening of 19 Jul 2018. She was the Director of the Examinations Division at ITE. She was very well regarded by her colleagues for her warm personality, as well as passion and professionalism in her work.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family and would be providing them our support during this difficult period.

ITE management has met the staff in the Examinations Division this morning to ensure their well-being, as well as provide support and counselling.

This is an isolated incident involving a staff and her ex-husband. We would like to assure students, staff and members of the public that security measures are in place to safeguard the safety of our campus.

As the case is under police investigation, we are unable to comment further.

MAN SET TRAP TO CATCH BIRDS. IS THIS POACHING?

Poaching has been defined as the illegal hunting or capturing of wild animals, usually associated with land use rights.

Is this allowed…they’re catching wild Bulbuls. Using a caged female to lure more into the trap. Men at PLMGSS opposite seem to be trapping the birds.

The guy is fixing the trap back after catching one bird. So sadddddd. Update: tried calling AVA since the the first 3 men started trapping and couldn’t go through, their online submission form as well.

Will try again tomorrow. Thanks everyone for helping:)

SMRT BUS CAPTAIN RUSH IN TO HELP. GIVE HIM A MEDAL

At about 12.35pm today, I was onboard SMB5889E, 979M. As we exited the highway, there was a lorry that broke down at the traffic junction. When the bus captain saw what has happened, he quickly pulled over to one side, told the passengers that were on the bus to give him a few minutes, and he quickly went over to help the 2 guys to push the lorry to a safer place. Once he was done helping them, he quickly rushed back to the bus and continued the journey.

I am very impressed with his professionalism and also touched by his actions because it was his first instinct and he did it very swiftly. On top of his kindness, his selflessness and thoughtfulness is worth more than just a commendation.

He is non other than one of your #SMRTHeroes, Bus captain Hairulrizam Bin Hassan

$700 DEDUCTED FROM ITUNES. IS YOUR IPHONE SAFE?

This post is for awareness purposes and for Apple to know about their security system that they have which is so called world class.

On 13/07/2018, i got a shock of my life at night when i discovered that my account balance has been completely wiped out when i did not purchase anything. In disbelief, i made the call to DBS and asked for the transaction details for that day. Transaction details showed that i have purchased $700 worth of items in ITUNES WHICH I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT.SHOCKKKKED PART 2!

I am using Iphone 7 and all my card details are on my phone and nowhere else. I was in a family outing which was stayover for 2 days and just imagine the horror. I tried calling Apple but on Sat and Sun their lines are all on busy after 10pm. Incase of an emergency and need to contact them their hotlines are closed at night. SHOCKKKKED PART 3!

Now, knowing my account balance is empty next day i had to make the call and yes they responded promptly(GIVE CREDIT ABIT). After explaining the story blah blah and telling them that my account has been compromised. They cancelled the transactions. But sorry they have to investigate and after 10 days they will return the money. The problem here was,

1)Another icloud account holder used my account NOT MINE

2)I was told someone else who i might have known used my card. YES I KNOW BUT WHY USE IT IN ITUNES AND NOT ELSEWHERE. To that their reply was “its a very gd question”

3)I ONLY store my card details on my phone and if someone who got it is through my phone which means probably my phone is compromised or they used my card details stored in my app store.

(They kept insisting they could not have lose any information to anyone)

4) If someone else uses my card details on a different account why do i not have any prompt or notifications or why can someone else under a different account use my card details in the first place.

FOR ALL OF THIS THEIR ANSWER WAS IM SORRY SIR I CANT REVEAL MUCH BECAUSE ITS OUR PRIVACY POLICY. FKING SHOCKKED PART 3!

If u have reached to this long post at the end the main story here is for convenience we store our information on our phone or wherever but also rmb your information is conveniently available elsewhere. Pls share this post for awareness

Thank you

KIDS GAVE THANK YOU NOTES. AFTER LEARNING HARD WORK OF RUBBISH DISPOSAL

A few weeks ago, as we were walking to the car, the rubbish truck trundled into our estate to pick up its daily load.

“Eeeeeeee!!” T said in his usual loud voice, as both kids covered their noses.

“So smelly right Mama?” said H.

We got to the car and as we drove out, we saw the uncles scrambling to pick up the rubbish bins and pour their contents into the truck. We took the chance to point out and explain to the kids that it was rather insensitive of them to have said and done what they did. We talked about how tough it must be to do the uncles’ jobs and how we ought to appreciate them for doing something that no one else wanted to do. We also talked about how some of these uncles have to work very hard to support their families back home and how they must miss them very much.

Yesterday I came home from work and H showed me some notes that she made of her own accord.

“It’s to say thank you for working hard to clear our rubbish,” she declared. I think our pep talk sank in.

We went down to the bin area and waited for them this morning. The truck came trundling up punctually and the 2 uncles who were hanging on to the back of the truck were surprised to see us there. The kids ran up to them with their notes, and the uncles broke into smiles when they saw them.

There’s been a lot of debate about inequality in this country. I’m not intending to add to it. I did however take the point that Teo Yeo Yenn made in her book— that change needs to start on an individual level. Rather than just think of what the Government can do more (don’t get me wrong, I do agree that more can be done), I have been thinking about what I can do on an individual level. I suppose this is one of the baby steps I will take – to teach my children to value, honour celebrate an honest day’s work with whatever resources they have at their disposal.

We are often taught as parents, to praise effort and not just results. But somehow, we don’t extend that philosophy to the people around us. Why should we not value the effort that is put into ensuring that a job is done well, even if it’s to ensure that garbage is collected on time and efficiently every day? If we, as a collective whole start to value and respect work that is done honestly and well, instead of merely placing value on that PHD as a measure of dignity and success, perhaps we would start rewarding excellence in work rather than the effort put into cramming for an exam or chasing after the next paper qualification. It’s a long shot but perhaps, perhaps, we will start seeing changes in the mindsets that have so entrenched the state of inequality that we are in.
