As we were pulling out of our parking lot, a group of men dressed in Nagoya Hill uniforms (mostly cab drivers we have been since told) and a security guard stopped us.
A heated argument ensued and they even hit my friends when we insisted we were not using Uber.
They refused to let us leave. They scratched our car. Thugs. Yes, the cab drivers r angry that Uber has killed their livelihood, but we were driving our rental car. Everyone going to Batam better think twice. I’m never going Batam again. Nothing worth going for. #BatamNoMore

News portal Thaivisa has learnt that immigration officials at a numerous border checkpoints across Thailand are enquiring some people incoming into the republic on a tourist visa to show Bt20,000 in cash.
As the amplified inspection is to clamp down on foreigners who officials find questionable looking to work in Thailand illegally and are not real tourists.
Out of the list the one under the most concentrated inspection are people entering Thailand multiple times with a tourist visa/student/ ED visa holders.
A 12-years-old boy was assaulted by a 63-year-old man. The suspect Chua Hock Leong is a married man and he is accused of performing oral *** on the 12-year-old boy in Tampines Park toilet in January 2016.
Reports revealed that the incident happened after the boy ran away from home on 26-01-16. He spent the night at Changi Airport and met up with his friends for a change of clothes. While waiting for the arrival of his friend, the boy claimed that the Chua interacted with him and made friends with the boy.
Chua later accompanied the boy and walk to Tampines Eco Green Park. The boy was using the toilet at the park when Chua came in and force unspeakable acts on him.
The boy claimed after he escaped from Chua’s clutches he boarded a Taxi and went straight to his father’s home. The boy was later admitted to the hospital after he said that he felt unwell. The incident got revealed and Chua was arrested on the 31-01-2016 after police reports were filed against him.

But he took advantage of it to lock the room to rape her. After the victim failing to escape, the actually took her into the room, twice raped her.
Bangladesh man Hussein faces two rape crimes, on February 29, 2016 between 11 am and 1:10 pm, in Geylang Lane 8 Lane on the third floor of a shop unit, for raping a 44 year old woman. The defendant pleaded not guilty, the case on July 4 morning trial in the high court.
The victim is a Chinese nationality female tourist, currently 45 years old. She went to Singapore to visit her husband who worked for 12 years in the construction industry and was planning to stay from February 20 to March 18.
In order to live with his wife, the victim’s husband rented a room at the incident site, and the defendant lived next door.According to the prosecution in the opening statement, the incident happened when the husband went out to work, she alone in the room.
The defendant knocked on the door to find the victim, holding a toothbrush on her hand. The victim went the other side to get him toothpaste and showing him to the toilet.
Unexpectedly, the defendant suddenly lock the door while the victim was in the toilet. The victim struggled, but the defendant pulled his pants to rape her.
Afterwards, the defendant opened the toilet door and the victim quickly tried to flee. However, the defendant seized her left shoulder, pulled her into her room, and raped her twice. After the defendant left the scene.
The case was brought to court on 4 July 2017, where the defendant entered a plea of not guilty. The case will be brought to trial in the high court for two counts of rape.

Went to meet a property agent today at an old residential bungalow off East Coast Road. This landed home would be a 2min drive from my own home, which is perfect.
Rental was cheap (coz market is shite) and before I met him at this unit, I clearly told him what I was gonna use it for..
1) Storage purposes of old furnitures, music equipments, old flooring materials,..etc, things that are too valuable to discard.
2) I might sublet 1 or 2 bedrooms out to offset the rental abit, since I wont be using it as a running office and its mostly for storage, I figured that, the more practical thing to do for a house like this is to rent out one or 2 bedrooms. It is a landed house anyways, with large bedrooms. See I have many expat friends in Singapore who are already paying ridiculous prices in cramped HDB bedrooms.
Agent immediately, upon reading my sms, replied, ”Hi Mr Bhai, owners will NOT have a problem with that. Are you free to meet me at the unit at 3.30pm?”
I said yes. The landed house, being only 2 minutes away from my home.. put on my t-shirt and shorts, bundled my hair and proceeded to meet him.
As I was nearing the house in question, I noticed the agent alighting from an Uber/Grab car. He was probably in his 50s, close to 60, in a short sleeved shirt and jeans. He opened the gate to the car porch and I drove my car into the home. He turned for abit while unlocking the grilles to the main door and signaled a hello to me.
I switched off my engine, got out of the car, locked it and started walking towards this agent. I noticed that the smile he had on, had faded and the welcoming gesture he gave to me whilst I was still in my car had now turned into a a nonchalant thing.
I walked up to him and said ”Hello”..
Here was his reply after seeing a non shaved ‘Hooligan’ in shorts, slippers with a man-bun, that just came out of a Batmobile…
