I am losing patience with Tampines Town Council over this issue. I first called TC the week before Chinese New Year to report on the water leakage in my unit’s living room (I live on the top floor). There has been an inspection but no follow up so I do not know if there is any work done to rectify the leaky roof.
Then I called on 28 Apr to report leaking roof again and was told will get contractor to come down but no action taken. I have called 3 more times after since and was always told someone will call me back but no one called.
Tonight there is a super heavy rain, even the corridor is raining indoors. There is water leaking from the electric wire casing. Wouldnt that be a safety hazard?! Please do something about this. The water leak is also ruining my wall and floor. Should I bill the TC for any damage?
They keep passing the buck around to contractors and with the recent Home Improvement Project on-going in my block, the leaking issue seems to be ignored.
Netizen encountered a van that cut on to the 1st lane without signalling. Realising that the van had tinted glass. The man decided to report this vehicle to LTA.
Dear Abbott, both my kids have been drinking Abbott’s milk since they were a month old. It’s the first time we had this bad experience and I had to bring this to every parent’s attention!
This affects every child who is drinking Abbott’s milk! I would not hesitate to send the milk to the laboratory for test to prove that the milk is not suitable for consumption! My boy and girl each took a packet of milk and wanted to drink it before bedtime.
My girl mentioned the milk has a lemon taste but her brother’s milk tasted sweet. I took the milk from her and had a sip. It tasted horrible and sour! We purchased the unopened milk from ntuc supermarket.
The expiry date is 10 Dec 2017! There is some numbers on the packet which I believed is the batch number! Please check all the milk! My girl is 8 years old so she can differentiate sweet and sour but not young children! This might pose a threat to the health of the other children! Please look into it as soon!
A 67-years-old woman used the name ‘Mr Lee’ from the government to cheat a dishwasher out of $200,000 for the past 14 years. She told the victim that he owed the government money and was required to pay $500 a month since the year 2000.
Another occasion in 1999 made him withdraw over $50,000 from his CPF.
She is currently facing charges for the crime she committed.
When the son accompanied her to court, she son told the reporters that “the past two years have been difficult for his mother”. He said that the mother needed him to care for her for giving her food and drinks.
A gruesome murdered happened recently in Thailand and it has shocked many people due to how gruesome the murder was.
The incident started as threatening the victim with death and ended up as a murder. It started out when three women lured the victim into a car and sawed the body in half and later transferred to a place to another place to be buried.
The girl on the right is believed to be the one that strangled the victim and sawed the corpse in half. After sawing the woman in half, she used two big buckets to transfer the remains of the body to the site where she and her accomplices buried the body.
The crime was committed by not her alone but with the help with 2 other girls and 1 guy. It has been reported that both the victim and the group that committed the murder range from 22-28 years old.
Woodlanders take note, a new hawker centre will be open in September later this year. Residents are excited as the varieties of food will increase to much more!
But hold on! There are some rules with this hawker centre. After eating it is mandatory to return the trays and utensils to the return area.
Judging from other Makan places that implemented this. It has failed quite badly.

The passing of a fellow unknown comrade has got me thinking again about the society we live in and this job. I haven’t been in this thin blue line for long but I can safety say that my fellow comrades would very much feel the same grief and heartache.
It’s disappointing and heartbreaking to know that people have no respect for Home Team Officers. I’m not talking about those who attend and participate in the Home Team Festival to show support to Home Team officers. I’m talking about people in general, perhaps the minority. So take no offence at all. Just like how you jump upon every chance to demean and condemn them. I’m taking this chance to say my thoughts.
His fatality has brought you joy in many ways. But little did you know that he’s probably the one who stop someone else from speeding so your family would come home unhurt.
You talk about abuse of powers but you have no idea how much of domestic abuse and violence he has seen, just enough to use necessary force to subdue a subject.
You call in sick due to “flu, slight headache, or fever”, and enjoy your day, while he works despite having all these exact symptoms so that at the end of the day, you get to sleep peacefully.
You have the luxury of having long and uninterrupted meal breaks not having to worry about work at all. While he barely has time for a drink on certain days.
You work 8 hours a day and have the audacity to talk about work life balance while he works on a average of 14 hours a day.
You made sure you had your phones with you before you left home while he catches the last glimpse of home before heading to work not knowing if it could be his last.
You criticise the police force and say they are never good enough at how they do or what they do. But the officer blast the siren, while the person in front of him refuses to move or give way, because he thinks that he has the right of way, or probably because he’s on the phone.
You laugh at fallen officer about how stupid they are. But that officer runs into every situation when everyone else is running away from it, in order to make sure no one gets hurt or loses their life doing it. You go against him for any reason you could possibly have but, as soon as you need help, he is there.
He gets scrutinised for almost everything he does, be it in good faith or bad, but we take it in a positive light because we provide an extraordinary service. One that no other sectors provide. He don’t need you to be thankful for everything he does, but at the very least, hope that you don’t scrutinise him for every single little thing he does.
You see what you choose to see or talk about, but there’s also things that you are absolutely unaware of.
If you disagree with the fact that our police force is one of the best of its kind in the world and that we are just not good enough to your standards. I challenge you to don this uniform and walk the ground. I challenge you to live in a city where your soul, peace and security is at treat every single minute.
Let me quote a close colleague of mine who said, In this line of duty, it’s always about “I don’t know if I’ll make to home to see my family again.” To some you might find it foolish, because you take for granted that Singapore is just safe and secure, and nothing could possibility go wrong. Then I’m here to tell you that you’re every bit as wrong. Read up, the threat ain’t getting any smaller or further.
So before you go on a rampage. Stop and take a minute to think. When you go against him you’re going against everyone in blue. Because what we do here, is MORE THAN JUST A JOB.
Every morning I don’t know I’m taking MRT to work. Or getting punished to stand (reminds me of school days). I take train go work. Delay here delay there, some people say train fault, some say track fault. I don’t know got what fault.
Maybe most of this are out of control (maybe no proper maintenance lah). But today I heard something I can no longer keep quiet about.
At around 7.55am @ Sembawang station, i heard an announcement “The engineers are currently fine tuning the system”. Tune in the morning ah?
Tune your si lang tao, i give you a tuning fork you go tune your piano lah.
The brain got Water?
You do a fine tuning and test in the morning rush hour? The guy first day on the job or he no common sense? Must be the brain got water la.
MRT = MASS RAPID TRANSIT? NO LA THE R STANDS FOR RETARD LAH
