My relative regularly travels to China.
When he was away, he was billed transactions with a website Mobitrans, that he has never authorized and that he has no knowledge of. As he does not keep his Singtel bills, he is not sure for how long he has been billed charges from Mobitrans by Singtel.
He is not the only person who has been scammed and had to go through the unpleasant experience with Singtel, which asked him to contact Mobitrans himself to deal with the issue.
I am including several links about Mobitrans, that reveal that this scam is not a recent one, that the company has gained notoriety as there have been innumerable complaints to Singtel about the company.
One of the links was from a woman whose mother was similarly billed by Singtel.
I wonder how many Singtel subscribers have been unaware and blindly paying for the rogue charges. And how many non-IT-savvy elderlies have also been affected.
My concern is with this long history of unauthorized scam billings by Mobitrans, that Singtel must, therefore, be very aware. If so, why is Singtel has not ceased partnership with Mobitrans?
The famous Rajah Bomoh take does his rituals involving throwing coconuts claims that he has been protecting Malaysia for 70 years. After numerous videos of him appear online.
Malaysian police are now looking for him. His true name is Ibrahim Mat Zin. The local authorities are urging the public to stop sharing his “protect Malaysia against North Korea’s Nuclear ritual”.
I am a ex staff from a well known childcare. I would like to share my 5 years experience in that industry as a teacher. I also worked in another childcare centre for 1 year. I really feel that nowdays some principal’s/supervisors are really a sadist they don’t have the PR skill.
We are entitled for ALs but when we want to take, we will have to beg the principals or even then they ask too many personal questions and make us cry and beg. Or even best wait till last min give us mental stress and than approve the AL. Some teachers are even do scared to take AL or MC because of their princpals. We need a break too, we want to go holidays once in awhile too.
And when we take mc we are being judged for that and even sometimes they say that we are lying. Are we not human beings and don’t we have a family too. Why are we being treated in such way? When you argue you are black listed and they make your life miserable.
As for lunchtime we are not able to go out even after we request, we haveto answer their questions like, why, where and for what. We are working so much even saturdays getting paid less and treated horribly. Its more like a jail rather than a work place. Some Princpals are really interfering in the staffs’ personal life. But those principal are never perfect too.
They dont follow rules and when we tell our higher management nothing happens and they turn a blind eye. When we are being reprimanded, it is being done in front of other staffs. I pretty much would like to warn anyone that’s joining this industry to read and learn from my experience and think twice before joining if you don’t want to be treated like a slave due to workplace politics and heavy favoritism.
It is very unfair being treated like this and there’s no LAW to protect us. It’s like we are stuck just because of our rice bowls.
I came back to open my letterbox and then made a phone call, as I like to walk about when I am making a phone call, I walked to the back of my letterbox and to my horror discover this!
Even though I have already called in to highlight this and asked them to immediately send down somebody to rectify this, I still feel this is an extreme careless mistake and service lapse by Singpost that I should alert everybody that this sort of thing may happen to you.
All the residents’ letters could be taken by anybody!!! This may be why credit cards and important letters get stolen without being noticed by anybody.
I refer to the article â$660m in payouts for employers by end of March â (Straits Times, Mar 18).
It states that âMore than 85,000 employers will receive a total of about $660 million in Wage Credit Scheme (WCS) payouts by the end of this month.
Under the extended WCS, the Government co-funds 20 per cent of wage increases given to Singaporean employees earning a gross monthly wage of $4,000 and below, over 2015 to 2017.â
No mention of the no. of eligible workers?
When I read the above â the first âcuriousâ thought that came to my mind was â why no mention of the number of workers who were eligible for the wage credit?
Since there is no breakdown of the workforce statistics into Singaporeans and permanent residents (PRs), and only Singaporeans can qualify for the wage credit â I estimate that the number earning up to $4000 to be about 900,000 (since the median gross income was $3,823).
Since the 20 per cent co-funding wage credit is computed from the last two yearsâ wage increase of at least $50 a year â I estimate the average wage increase per eligible worker for 2016 (assuming three quarters of the workers met the criteria) to be about $200 a month ($660 million divided by 0.4 (co-fund 20% for 2 yearsâ wage increases) divided by 675,000 (75% of workers).
To put this in perspective â $200 is a five per cent wage increase for a worker earning $4,000.
0.7% wage increase last year
Actually, my curiosity was aroused because I remember reading in the news that the median gross income of full-time employed Singaporeans only increased by 0.7 per cent to $3,823 last year.
This works out to a wage increase of about $27 monthly ($3,823 divided by 1.007 â $3,823).
Since this is including employer CPF contribution â the increase excluding employer CPF contribution is about $23 ($27 divided by 1.17).
$18 increase in take-home pay?
If we deduct the typical 20 per cent employeeâs CPF contribution â the increase in take-home pay (disposable income) is only about $18 ($23 less 20%).
50% of Sâporeans had less than $18 pay increase?
So, since this is the median â does it mean that about half of the full-time employed Singaporeans had a wage increase (take-home pay) of only $18 or less?
Total wage increase of all the workers earning up to $4,000 â $250m?
Hence, I estimate the total wage increase for workers earning less than $4,000 to be about $250 million ($23 x 12 months x 900,000 workers).
Now, letâs get back to the wage credit.
20% co-fund wage increase is $660m, but all workersâ wage increase $250m?
Hereâs where it may be puzzling. If the Government paid $660 million to co-fund 20 per cent of the wage increase for those workers earning up to $4,000 who had at least a $50 wage increase â why is the estimated total wage increase for all the full-time employed Singaporeans earning up to $4,000, only about $250 million?
Why? â low or no wage increase or cut, unemployed, self-employed?
Well, some possible reasons may be that a significant number may have had a wage increase of less than $50, no wage increase, a wage cut, became unemployed (estimated to be over 100,000 Singaporeans), free-lance, self-employed, etc.
Saw this PRC couple in Century Square BHG just now, the wife was cutting the nails of their daughter (about 6 years old). After cutting, she put the nail clipper back into the packaging & hung it back onto the shelve. I was shocked!! I thought they were using their own nail clipper!!
Such behaviour has no place in Singapore!! Only think for themselves!! No wonder anyhow pang sai & expect other people to clean up after them. Please don’t bring your uncivilised and anti-social behaviour to our country!!
” Hi all, let me share my story over here. Unfortunately, I chance upon this facebook page real late. I wish I have done my research earlier and perhaps all this could have been prevented. My story is very similar to the previous story posted here, just that this time, it involved 2 of his accomplices.
I am an agent from one of the insurance company, on December 2016 that scammer walked in to my office as a potential client stating he was interested in certain plans. He left his name and contact number and left hurriedly, as usual, in order to follow up, a second meet up is needed.
During the second meet up, that scammer claimed to have left his wallet on the cab when he was on his way to meet me. Thus, he went ahead to sign his policy without his IC. He then borrowed money from me saying that he needed to cab down to Comfort Delgro and rush to his own appointment after that. Out of goodwill, I lend him money.
There was a few more meetup subsequently because there were some changes in the quotations and I needed him to re-sign the policy.(his tactics) All this while, he was dragging and lying to me he will send me a soft copy of his IC once he makes a new one. Excuses such as he would like me to adjust the quotations or even gave me the wrong credit card number for the payment details. I thought It was alright since he is quite keen and steady in meeting me. But I was so wrong⌠His policy was never submitted as the IC was pending..
In between, that scammer told me that his sister would like to get a policy too and will be flying back to Singapore . This was the third appointment, together with is sister and him. I rushed down from my office to the airport on the same day. As usual, we proceeded to sign everything and 1 or 2 days later, he called me saying that his sister do not want to proceed anymore.
His sister name is Goh Lay Hong (or maybe known as sally). Her IC is Sxx44337B, hand phone number is x344 9160.
A few days later, he âreferredâ his âfriendâ to me to buy policy. Again, with short notice, I went down to meet both that that scammer and his friend. Similarly, his friend bought a policy with me but the payment was never in. It was only until this week (Jan 2017) that I went to check and realized about it. His name is Rajendren(or known as Jacob), an Indian PRC. His IC is sXX39540Z, handphone number is x470 4117.When I called him, he do not seems to remember he bought a policy from me. I told him I met him together with that scammer (I referred him as mr Sim kian sing)at which place which date but ironically he was like âwho was it? Jo? Sam?â (Not sure if the Sam he was referring is the Samuel posted on the previous story) And like really?? So many people are referring agents for you to buy insurance? Weirdly, he actually asked me to ask that scammer to call him so the 3 of us can meet again. Of course I said no! I really do not see any point. It was also at this point, I found out that the line that the scammer was using could no longer get through. His number was xxxx 9575. I then withdrew his policy that was pending and stuck in my system for the longest time.
That scammer also mentioned to me regarding his 4 children. His tactics are rather similar. Please beware of such annoying piece of shit! All these while, he has been trying to squeeze my money and every appointment with him was nothing but stress.
In conclusion, no deal went through at all. All appointments (probably 4-6 times) were futile.
