Right before Chinese New Year. Foreigners were hired to work part time to queue up for Bak Kwa and were paid $5/hour.
MOM Lim Swee Say come out and mentioned that getting the foreign workers to do this is illegal. The foreign workers said that during Chinese New Year that is not much work and they would like to use the time to make pocket money or extra for their families.
One incident of workers queue up and buy Bak Kwa want make noise. Is it unethical? Or because the part time money don’t go through any tax?
Then this Geylang Bit*ches in disco let u touch touch then take $20 for more than 10 years no catch? You might say those have work permit. But i believe there are so many that does not have! The govt really need to focus on what’s right and wrong addressing minor issues of foreign workers queueing up about bak kwa is a complete waste of time.
The focus should be catching people coming into Singapore and doing ILLEGAL stuff. Catching this “Bak Kwa Part Timers” will not make Singapore a better place.
Even though today is Chinese New Year, it doesn’t feel like it. Once the clock strike midnight, there are plenty of unhappiness & bad luck still lingering around our house. One of the perfect example is this weird guy lingering outside our house since 2am & he came back at 2.30am again to take pictures of our house from outside our gate for who knows what reason. Too sneaky & suspicious. Only he knows what he want to do to us or our house man. Reported to the police, they are doing some patrolling around the area to look out for this young chinese man wearing red ocs singlet, black 3/4 basketball shorts, black slippers.
Keep a look out and lock all your doors at all time.
The reason why i put CCTV along my corridor is because there are a lot of awful people ( or neighbours ) stealing our clothes, footwear, & even throwing their lit cigarette butts into our house. So far there were no repeated cases when we setup our CCTV after that but it is totally worth it to set up one to watch who passes by our doors on purpose, after all i have a young child in the house, to me, my child’s safety will always be number 1. Whatever he’s thinking, to steal or what, i hope he will kill that idea, as most of the time, 24/7 we have someone at home. Even if the CCTV outside didn’t capture your face, another hint, when you break into our house, there is another CCTV watching who comes in** the front gate. No matter what, we knows who the heck comes in & out of our house, for our safety.

Nowadays wherever i work at town area i will get to see young singaporeans talk english with american accents. What’s more when they talk they give u a impression that they talk as if they’re very high class like that How come must they talk american accent english, talking correct singaporean english (Not singlish) is very low class meh?
I have this female friend that always come talk ang moh american accent with me but the grammar super fail. I worked in USA for years and i still return to Singapore and enjoy my local hokkien words and mixing multiple languages. I got irritated and i started to intimidate her.
Me: Why you speak with ang moh accent? Your foreigner?
Her: I hang out with my american friends regularly so i started to speak like them?
Me: Wah i work in US for several year but no ang moh accent lei. Don’t act one kind la. Your grammar also fail
After that she no longer speak the american accent and talk normally. Please la want act atas or act u ang moh pai go jia sai first la.

Lunar New Year is one of the dreaded time of the year for me! No it not because I have to face relative grilling me about when I am going to get marry or my parents comparing me with the other cousin.
As I have quite a stable job as a business analyst so I actually quite secure about where I stand among the cousin. Plus I learnt how to deal with the aunties politely when they popped the question. Just keep smiling and answer with the sets of question I prepared.
For me not a biggie after all its only once a year just entertain them abit. Ever since my mom know I use excel regularly analysing data and presenting findings to my boss.
The worst came my mom told me she want to see an excel spread sheet with an pivot table/chart to see which of my relatives having giving more or less for the past three years! I tried to argued and say Lunar new year should be about celebrating the new year.
Like all this money going to matter? For god-sake she a regional sale manager, I looked at my dad for help but all he did was to roll his and look away. I pity those under her care how she must have pushed them for to reach the sale target. I enjoy using excel but not like this how I wished I could say no but no one in the family has the final say except her all I want to just feel the celebration of new year.
