A Causeway Link bus operator is investigating an incident after one of its drivers was allegedly caught using a mobile phone while transporting passengers from Malaysia into Singapore via the Second Link.
Videos circulating online have sparked concern among commuters after showing a bus driver appearing distracted behind the wheel during a cross-border journey.
The footage, which was reportedly shared in a Facebook community group before being removed, shows the driver holding and operating a mobile phone while the vehicle was in motion.
According to the individual who uploaded the clips, the incident took place on a route travelling from Malaysia’s Sultan Abu Bakar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex towards Singapore’s Tuas Checkpoint.
In one video lasting around half a minute, the driver can be seen looking down at his phone while resting both arms across the steering wheel. During portions of the journey, he appeared to steer the vehicle using his elbows while continuing to interact with the device.
The driver only placed the phone on the dashboard near the end of the recording.
Doing It Non-Stop

In the video, his arms remained stretched across the steering wheel as the bus continued moving. The footage also seemed to show the driver making steering corrections while focusing on the device.
At the time of the recording, the bus was reportedly approaching or entering the Tuas Checkpoint area.
The videos quickly drew attention online, with many social media users expressing concern over passenger safety and the potential risks associated with distracted driving, especially on a route frequently used by thousands of commuters travelling between Malaysia and Singapore.
