In a shocking incident on Saturday night, a 20-year-old man was arrested near Margaret Drive after an alarming call reported a man wielding a chopper at 301 Commonwealth Avenue, according to a report by Lianhe Zaobao and Channel NewsAsia.
The police received the call at 7.05 pm and found that members of the public had already detained the suspect upon their arrival.
The incident resulted in injuries to seven individuals, with none reported as serious. Two men aged 76 and 40, along with a 6-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and were conscious when transported to the hospital.
Additionally, three men aged 54, 21, and 20, and a 45-year-old woman sustained minor injuries but declined further medical assistance.
Unfolding Across Multiple Locations
Eyewitnesses reported that the incident unfolded across several locations, including the ground floor of Housing Board flats at Margaret Drive and the nearby hawker centre.
The suspect reportedly covered approximately 900 meters, traveling from Margaret Drive to Queens Peak condominium. Witness-provided photos depicted a knife and blood stains at a stairway in one of the locations.

Residents of the area reported that the attacks occurred across multiple locations in Queenstown. Netizens took to social media, with one posting at 7.17 pm about a chopper-wielding man “running and slashing people” along Margaret Drive.
A shared photo showed a young man, wearing a mask, white polo T-shirt, and blue berms, running down the sidewalk with a chopper in his right hand.
Mr. Eric Chua, Member of Parliament for the Queenstown ward in Tanjong Pagar GRC, stated in a Facebook post that he was informed only one person had carried out the attacks. Police have seized both a knife and a chopper as critical evidence in ongoing investigations.
