COMPANY TOLD INTERVIEWEE THAT OT IS CLAIMABLE, BUT REDUCES CLAIMABLE OT IN JOB OFFER

Is it a red flag if a company says that OT is claimable during an interview but includes a rule that reduces the amount of claimable OT in the actual job offer?

I recently attended an interview and the HR personnel told me that OT is frequent during peak periods in projects but not to worry, OT is claimable.

The HR personnel didn’t go in-depth about how OT claims work so I didn’t think much of it and left it at that.

However, they sent me a job offer today and I saw an rule that was not known to me. My official working hours are 0830 to 1730 but OT isn’t claimable on weekdays from 1730 to 2000.

They also included the fact that work hours per day is capped at 12 hours. So basically I am only allowed to work till 2030 everyday provided I didn’t take any half day leaves.

So now I can only claim half an hour worth of OT pay for 12 hours of work.

That seems fishy as to why they even have this rule in the first place. Do they expect me to work for free from 1730 to 2000 everyday?

Does MoM laws cover this part about OT pay? Can I actually refuse to work during 1730 to 2000 since I am not paid for that? Is it possible to for them to fire me if I do that?
