DEADLY JELLYFISH SPOTTED IN SENTOSA, DO NOT SWIM IN THE AREA FOR 2 WKS

According to a video shared by Marine Stewards FB page, Box Jellyfish was spotted at Sentosa on 03 Jul 2020.

Box Jellyfish is known to be highly venomous and members of the public are advised not to swim in the area for at least 2 weeks.

“Box jellyfish were seen at Sentosa today. Highly venomous! Reminder, if you’re swimming in the sea, please always be careful. If swimming off a boat, the captain should always keep a lookout as jellyfish near the surface can be seen from a height/ distance

1. The amazing team at NParks have been alerted and are looking into it. They are 100% on the ball (and 100% on the box)

2. This is a single sighting for now. Please be on a lookout in the coming weeks, if you see one, please take photos, videos and note the location. Inform NParks and/or post to Marine Stewards immediately

3. To be safe, we advise not to swim in the Sentosa area these two weeks until we get more information.
