Former Singapore national football team defender Baihakki Khaizan, was seen laughing during Singapore’s 4-1 loss to Malaysia in the AFF Championship and was objectively crucified by netizens who called him out.
He was seen laughing while being seated with the Malaysian fans in the VIP section of the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur during the match.
The 38-year-old took to Facebook and Instagram to apologise for the incident, saying that he was laughing at a non-football related joke with those around him.
He said that he is sorry to those who misinterpreted the situation and that he was not laughing at anybody, and that “sometimes I think you are just unlucky, being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hi guys,
I saw the footage about me laughing after full time. My apologies for the incident.. i was unlucky to be caught in a non-football related jokes with the malaysian fans during the photo session..
How i wish the camera showed the time i smashed the bottle when the goals went in. However, I’m sorry for the misunderstandings.
The boys did their best but Malaysia wanted it more and showed hunger for victory.
