The Workers’ Party (WP) Vice-Chair Muhamad Faisal Bin Abdul Manap testified in front of the Committee of Privileges on 9 December about Raeesah Khan lying in Parliament and a special report was released on 11 December.
Raeesah had previously testified that she was told by the WP leaders to take her lie to the grave – she had texted the following to her assistants and cadre members, Loh Pei Ying and Yidhishthra Nathan:
“Hey guys, I just met Pritam, Sylvia, and Faisal. And we spoke about the Muslim issue and the police accusation. I told them what I told you guys, and they’ve agreed that the best thing to do is to take the information to the grave. They also suggested that I write a statement to send out this evening.”
Raeesah was lying
Faisal disputed her claims and said that it wasn’t true – they didn’t tell Raeesah to take the lie “to the grave” nor had they spoken to her about the police accusation.
He said that Raeesah was lying but “could not explain why she would do so”, according to the second special report.
