I married my bestfriend’s ex.
8 years ago, my bestfriend use to date this guy, and let’s just say years of their relationship has been toxic. She will always go to me and rant about her then boyfriend. I just listen, but her story just seem exaggerated to make her look innocent. I don’t know this guy that much. Just enough to know he’s just a friendly guy.
My bestfriend cheated on him, and he broke up with her immediately. My bestfriend continues to talk shit about him to everyone. I was just neutral but not supporting her act of cheating.
About a year passed, I went out for a jog and bumped into him. He tried to avoid me but I insisted to say hello anwyays. So I did, and we talked for a bit. After a while, I asked him what really happened. Apparently, it’s more than just cheating on my bestfriend’s part. My bestfriend has been very abusive to him and threaten him a lot. He still doesn’t get justice at all. She even stole his money. Apparently he doesn’t dare do anything cause people naturally sided the woman more than man. He even has clear evidence. Videos, messages, voice notes, everything.
I was furious. I knew something wasn’t right. So I told him to give me all evidence. He was scared at first, but I assure him, he’ll get some justice. So he sent it all to me.
Let’s just say I confronted my bestfriend and she got scared with all the evidence. She then was forced to tell everyone the truth, paid back all his money, and, well, live in shame. I denounce her as my bestfriend on the same day. I’m sad but, it’s the right thing to do.
I went back to him few days after, told him everything and he was in tears, thanking me a lot. He then said he would love to repay me for the goodness I did. I told him, it’s okay, but he insisted on at least buying me food. So I said okay to that.
It’s meant to be one time, but, then we meet almost everyday. I get to know him and slowly fell in love with him. I couldn’t understand why does my ex-bestfriend treated him so badly. He is such a sweet, loving, caring guy.
After few months, I confessed my feelings to him. But I told him that I know it’s weird, knowing that he’s the ex of someone who used to be my bestfriend. He said, he also fell in love with me and would love to marry me.
So, that night, I told my ex-bestfriend about it. She was sad, but, she said her ex definitely deserves happiness. Apparently, she started to regret about her actions and said she shouldn’t have let her ex been with her in the first place. She wished us well. I told her that I do miss her. And hope she can change to be better.
Now, my husband and I are happily married, and we’re expecting to have our first child together.
I never knew this is how I meet my soulmate.
Life do be crazy huh.
