A girl shared a story of how her partner’s aunt was going through Tiktok one day and found her account which then led to the discovery that her partner and her are same gender partners.
The aunt then told her sister which is the girl’s partner’s mother who then decided to lecture them not to be so open on social media about their relationship as tongues might wag and there are people who are still not open enough for this.
After the big hoo-haa, the girl then decided that she could not care less and blocked her partner’s mum on social media which made the mother feel guilty.
Here is the story
“My girlfriend and I, we’re a same gender couple.
We live together, away from our families ever since we both went to start work in the society.
my gf’s aunt (while visiting my gf’s mom) was going through tik tok and found my account. most of my videos were about our relationship, purely normal stuff with nothing dirty.
She obviously found out we were together and went to tell her mom about it. her mom calls my gf to tell her that she found my videos and started talking about how i should be “careful” because a lot of people are homophobic.
she also explained that it was dangerous for me to post about it because of other family members who might find out as well.
none of this was said to my face so i’ve been mad since. i private every single video, even videos that had nothing to do with my relationship at all just in case she wanted to talk more rubbish. her mom then felt bad because she couldn’t stalk me anymore. i also private all my social media accounts just in case she decided to be nosy in other ways.
my gf isn’t mad at me about the whole situation which i’m very grateful about, but I’M upset because even though it’s OUR relationship her parents want to control every aspect of it.
at the end of the day, it was a good thing to private anything because although it’s my account, i wouldn’t want to cause problems between my gf and her family.”
