Why do girls go out with guys 1 to 1 when they have a bf?
Context is I first met this girl from Uni class, got her IG, but we did not talk again until I saw her story one day she was at the same concert. I told her we should go together for concerts some day and she agreed. Talked and moved to Telegram and she eventually agreed to go out with me for coffee. But she told me halfway during the hangout she will be going out with her boyfriend and his friends for vacation. Ngl, I was shocked and almost did not know what to say. Note she did not mention she had a bf at all throughout and no indication of it on her IG or Telegram profile pic at all.
Anyway, we agreed to go out again because I was also curious who is her bf. I asked her whether her bf was comfortable with us hanging out 1 to 1. She replies yes and he knew me as we are from the same course, but did not want to reveal him as he wanted his privacy and was sure I would know him if she said. Anyway, I told her we shouldn’t hangout 1 to 1 anymore since it might give wrong ideas to her bf even though she insisted her bf was fine and secure with it. (real reason is I find myself catching feelings and didn’t think it would end well) But also told her we can still hangout as a group with friends and she can still text me if she needed anything.
Not sure if I did the right thing but just wanted to get this off my chest and puzzled why girls do this. (probably just saw me as friend and not a threat to their r/s but still 1 to 1 might give off wrong idea)
