We recently shared a post by a Grab driver, Sirajuddin Sathar, who gave his account on how he was attacked by a PRC passenger who was riding on his Grab car on the morning of 8 March 2023 until he had blood wounds on his arm.
Recap
The Grab driver has now shared part two of his case on his Facebook account, detailing how Grab had not got back to him with an explanation from the PRC passenger.
He claims in his post that passengers are more important to Grab than Grab drivers.
The Grab driver also said that the Police had asked him to file magistrate court case against the PRC passenger if he wants to claim for his injuries from the passenger or wants any actions to be taken against the passenger.
According to the Grab driver, the Police report that he made could only be kept for recording purposes.
Here is what the Grab driver said (english written)
‘Part 2 of my case where I was attacked by a PRC woman on 8th march.
Grab has contacted me and said that they will get in touch with the rider for her explanation but till now there is no news, which I presume that no action was taken against the PRC passenger as riders are their bloodline and not us.
Secondly, the police report which I made is only for record purposes. The police had asked me to file a magistrate court case against the rider to claim injury or take action against the rider.
Moral of the story to me is that all PHV drivers are on their own if any mishap or injury occurs to them. Do not expect any 2 of these departments to be on your side, they want us to defend ourselves against attacks by riders. It is a lesson learnt, thanks for reading good luck for PHV drivers which has no benefits or future just hit the accelerator hard and keep moving on.’
