My dad just saw a browser tab with some adult videos playing that I had forgotten to close on my iPad. I now want to curl up into a ball and die.
So I was um… doing things earlier and I had a tab open on my iPad and after my business was finished I completely forgot to close the tab.
Later, my dad came into my room to sort some banking things out and got me to open Google on my iPad to do it.
As soon as I opened Google, we were both greeted by the thumbnail of a man and woman completely wearing nothing with absolutely no confusion as to what they were doing.
Having realised my mistake, I quickly fumbled to close the tab while my heart was pounding and after missing the X a few times, I finally managed to get it to close.
Afterwards while sorting out said banking thing, he didn’t make any mention of what had just happened. I’m not even 100% sure he saw it as the iPad was slightly angled towards me, but I’m pretty sure he saw it.
He even seemed to go silent when it showed up on the screen. When he finally left my room, I just wanted to curl up into a ball and die due the embarrassment.
Overall, things could have been worse as I wasn’t watching anything weird and he’s not one of those parents who would care about me watching such things
he probably already knew that I do as surely he’s not stupid enough to think that me as an 18 year old male has never watched it but it was still an extremely embarrassing moment all the same.

- He saw it and it isn’t a big deal to him. If it makes you feel better I once walked in on my dad watching those videos. We’ve never spoken of it because there’s no need to.
- He is having a quiet a chuckle at your freak out face (yes it was obvious, you are not as smooth as you think) and then he has moved on. If he is a normal parent as you describe, it is not worth freaking out over.
- As a 57 year old woman I’m going to give you a piece of advice. Repeat after me…
It never happened.
You will repeat that for at least the next 10 years. Sometime after 10 years you can laugh about it with your father, but only if he brings it up. Until then, it never happened.
