I’m sad that I had to cut off my friends from my life.
10 years ago, I want to change my life. Like, I want to do better, be successful, be rich enough for me and my family. I don’t want to stay in the same place, do nothing productive, and waste lots of time.
I’ve asked many of my friends to put in some efforts in their life and let’s be successful together, be it in their field of interest or perhaps we can start a business together. It’s just sad that all of them are lazy, keep saying “one day” , keep saying “I will soon” , and do absolutely nothing about it.
So I did what I had to do. I distance myself from them. I worked everyday, failed everyday, learn everyday for years. Along the way, I met those who’re similar to me and we lift each other up, and I have more connections and resources to properly get to my goal. Long story short, I am now living the dream life I wanted. Of course, my mind is still thinking about what more can I do.
Yesterday, my old friends wanna meet up. So I did, and all of them keep saying that I’m “lucky” to be successful. They have no idea the hell I have to go through and how many times I want to give up, but I stick to my goal. And honestly, my view on them changed.
All they do now is badmouthing me cause I’m successful, and constantly complaining about their life condition. The things they brag about is always something that no one should ever applaud for, like they brag they watch Netflix shows in 24 hours, they brag playing games all the time, brag about spending money they don’t have on something they don’t need.
It’s just…so pathetic. Meanwhile, on my new circle, we talk about achievements, how to improve on certain things in our life, better mindset to go forward, etc.
I just wish my friends could’ve done everything with me. They were great, but, I guess not anymore. I wish they wake up one day and realise that they can change their on day one, not “one day”
