Is it ok for guys to ask to split a bill after the first date if the girl declines invitation for a second date? I have been on 3 dates so far online, where there was no second date.

None of those girls initiated to pay and its abit costly to pay for 6 portions of meal when nothing materialises. Personally i feel its abit weird to ask for split after cause i assumed girls would at least pay for their share if they have no intention of seeing the person again.
Appreciate some feedback and opinion here.
Here are what netizens think:
- Then go somewhere cheaper like food court or hawker next time? Buy your own food. No need to treat. Lol. Why must go restaurant?
- If you mind, pls ask to spilt at the first date, not when they reject the second date. However, asking to spilt on first date may not lead to second date. I suggest that you talk to the gals more and ascertain they are really keen before u ask them out. Else it would be costly if you adopt a “cast net” style and meet many gals at the same time, without knowing them better.
- Just invite for a coffee. Why is there a need to have a meal? If there’s nothing much to talk about , just cut the story cut and part ways. Honestly if u r not my cup of tea, I won’t even want to waste my time out to entertain you.
- LOL. I would suggest you to ask them to go dutch at the start and not when you see they aren’t gonna meet you then you ask for their share. That’s like going to the doctor’s and asking for a refund after a week has passed by cos you didn’t recover.
- real issue here is why they are not willing to go on a second date. It’s like if the girls are in for a free meal, why will the reject the possibility of another free meal?
