According to the Journal of Infection, a man in Italy reportedly contracted monkeypox, Covid and HIV all at the same time.
The man suffered from fever and fatigue, and pus-filled bumps were also seen all over his body, including his appendages and face.
The 36-year-old Italian man had developed symptoms such as fatigue, fever and sore throat 9 days after returning from a trip to Spain from 16 to 20 June, where he engaged in unprotected intercourse with men.
He later tested positive for Covid on 2 July, and developed a rash on his left arm later that afternoon; and the next day, he found painful blisters all over his body.
The blisters then spread and became pustules 2 days later, and he then sought treatment at a hospital in Italy, where he was then sent to the Infectious Diseases Unit where he was found to be infected with monkeypox.
He was then screened for STDs and was found to be HIV-1 positive.
He was later discharged on 11 July and is recovering from Covid and monkeypox, but as of 19 July, he was still positive for monkeypox.
