Who else is in support of SMRT establishing “business class cabins” (eg. 1 per train) where passengers pay let’s say $5 more but in exchange have permission to dine in selected locations with comfier seats and tables etc.

Believe there will be plenty of demand in time-tight and sky-high-COE Singapore. Two time-consuming activities can essentially be combined.
Provides more revenue for SMRT (though slightly offset by cleaning costs etc) so they don’t burn our taxpayers money, and also more efficient for all parties involved. Best of many worlds isn’t it?
At least better than leaving it semi-unregulated/unenforced with (some nonzero chance) of $500 fine and then lots of ppl arguing who is right/wrong correct?
