Recruitment agent lied to me that my job has to station in SG, turns out can WFH from anywhere. Already rented a room here, can I sue the agent?
I am from Malaysia and I only found out that the company doesn’t require employees to be stationed in SG on my first day of training, but a few months ago the recruitment agency rep told me otherwise. Our HR said that the agent never try to clarify with them before.
Unfortunately I already rented a room here with a contract and am unable to retract.
Furthermore he tried to introduce me to his property agent friend when I’m trying to look for rooms here, which may benefit him from this lie.
This made me depressed cause I already planned the room renting and to prepare mentally to leave things behind and move into a new country to work here, knowing that it’s for nothing now. Not to mention the rental here is not cheap..
Is there any action I can take against the recruitment agency?
