Motorists travelling around the National Stadium and Kallang precinct on Saturday (25 July) are advised to expect significant traffic disruptions as road closures are put in place for the National Day Parade (NDP) 2026 National Education Show 3 and Preview 1.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said the traffic arrangements will remain in effect throughout the day to facilitate the large-scale event, with some roads closed from as early as 7am and others remaining inaccessible until 11pm.
Drivers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, avoid affected areas where possible, and consider using public transport to minimise delays.
Multiple Phases of Road Closures
The road closures will be implemented in stages throughout the day.
From 3pm to 11pm, Tanjong Rhu Place will be closed to regular traffic.
Beginning 5pm, additional closures will take effect along Jalan Benaan Kapal, Stadium Crescent, Stadium Walk, and sections of Stadium Way, remaining in place until 11pm.
The final phase starts at 6pm, affecting Kallang Airport Way, Kallang Airport Drive, and parts of Stadium Drive, with restrictions lasting until 11pm.
During these periods, access will only be granted to authorised vehicles, as well as police and emergency services.
Heavy Congestion Expected
Police have warned that motorists should anticipate slower traffic around several major roads surrounding the event venue.
Congestion is expected along Nicoll Highway, Guillemard Road, Sims Way, Mountbatten Road, Stadium Boulevard, Stadium Drive, Stadium Walk, Stadium Crescent, Jalan Benaan Kapal, and Tanjong Rhu Road.
Officers, auxiliary police officers, security personnel and Singapore Armed Forces marshals will be deployed at key junctions to direct traffic and assist motorists throughout the day.
Those travelling to nearby businesses, homes or attractions are advised to allow additional travelling time or use alternative routes.
Illegal Parking Will Be Strictly Enforced
Authorities also reminded motorists that parking restrictions along affected roads will be strictly enforced.
Vehicles found parked illegally or causing an obstruction will be towed away without prior notice.
The police strongly recommend that members of the public attending the event or visiting the surrounding area make use of MRT services and public buses instead of driving.
Motorists can also monitor real-time traffic conditions through navigation applications such as Google Maps or Waze before setting off.
