NO SMOKING INSIDE HOUSE, SO TENANT STICK HALF HIS BODY OUTSIDE WINDOW TO SMOKE

I rent a house with a few friends and one of the rules is no smoking inside because everyone else living there are non smokers and we all hate the smell.

One of the friends says he isn’t smoking inside because he sticks his head or half his body out the window.

When I bring this up to him his argument is he’s not inside because he’s 50 percent out lol. Am I wrong for trying to explain to my housemate that sticking half your body outside is still smoking inside?

I think I might be because he thinks and believes he’s outside when smoking but he’s really only sticking 50 percent outside

1. You are right here in my opinion. The point is due to wind and not always placing themselves fully outside, some smoke and smell WILL enter the home – That is a given.
2. So he’s: (1) making the house still smell like smoke as it blows in with the breeze and possibly comes in through other windows; (2) getting smoke residue from what floats inside on the walls/ceiling.
3. What a dumb thing to say. The smoke is getting back into the house. the entire point of the rule is to prevent the house smelling like smoke.

   This sounds like a smoker who is making a point by being a jerk and just doesn’t care about the effects the smoke has on the people around them.
6. I mean technically he’s still inside the home, even if 1 percent of his body is inside the house, he’s still at home.
