According to the Singapore Customs media release, 6 Chinese nationals, 5 men and 1 woman were arrested for their involvement in smuggling duty-unpaid liquors. a total of 902 bottles of duty-unpaid liquor were seized in separate operations conducted between 16 to 23 Jun 2020.
On 16 June 2020, a 27-year-old man was arrested in an HDB unit located at Clementi Avenue 4 and 60 bottles of duty-unpaid liquor found in his unit were seized. Another 59 bottles of duty-unpaid liquor that belong to the suspect were seized at a warehouse located at Toh Guan Road East.


The following day, a 30-year-old man was arrested at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 and 382 bottles of duty-unpaid liquor found in his flat were seized.
On 19 June 2020, two more men, aged 36 and 43 were arrested and 59 bottles of duty-unpaid liquor were seized.
On 22 June 2020, a 35-year-old woman was arrested after she accepted a shipment of goods that contained 198 bottles of duty-unpaid liquor at Fourth Chin Bee Road.

On 23 June 2020, the fifth man, aged 30, was arrested in at Woodlands Drive 72 after he collected a shipment of goods which contains 144 bottles of duty-unpaid liquor.
Initial investigation revealed that a total of S$65,690 of GST were evaded. Court proceedings are ongoing against 2 men while investigations are ongoing for the remaining 4 accuse.
