ShanXi, China – The man finally passed the interviews, and finally because he could not run 5 kilometers in 30 minutes, he was labeled as “not having the spirit of hard work ” and was dismissed by the company on the 4th day of the probationary period.
According to comprehensive Chinese media reports, a man surnamed Liu applied for a job as a maintenance worker at a mechanical parts company in Suzhou. After passing multiple interviews, he was successfully admitted and started a probationary period. However, less than 4 days after joining the company, Mr. Liu received a notice from the top management, requiring him to run 5 kilometers within 30 minutes, saying that this was the ultimate review of the company.
“Colleagues also warned that this was no joke and that if you didn’t run the 5K in 30 minutes, you would definitely be fired.”
The man started the audit that day in a weather of 40 degrees Celsius. After running about 800 meters, he felt that he was about to suffer from heat stroke, so he decided to give up and return to work.
The next day, the man was dismissed by the company when he went to work, saying that the man failed the long-distance running assessment stipulated by the company, and labeled him as “not having the spirit of hard work”.
The court ordered the company to pay 4,500 yuan for violations
In this regard, the man filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming that the company did not inform him that he needed to pass the physical fitness test before hiring him, so it was illegal to fire him.
The court finally ruled that the company did not clearly inform the recruitment assessment standards, and it was illegal to dismiss Mr. Liu, and the company must pay a total of 4,500 ringgit (about 7,000 RMB) in compensation to Mr. Liu.
