A man, thought to be of Chinese origin, has been reportedly peddling unidentified enhacenement medication near Aljunied Road. This recent incident raises concerns about the lack of police intervention, considering the reported case of clearing the area and apprehending all illegal sellers only a year ago.
The incident sparked mixed reactions among the local community, with some users expressing their opinions about the situation on social media platforms.
One user commented, “This medicine is powerful! Once you eat it, you can go find your ancestors…” with a laughing face emoji. Although the comment was intended to be humorous, it also highlights the potential risks and dangers associated with the unregulated sale of these substances.
“These products usually contain undeclared Western medicinal ingredients or toxic ingredients in varying proportions, or contain ingredients not stated on the packaging, which could result in adverse health outcomes.”
Another netizen enlightened the discussion by providing an inside perspective on the issue. They stated that the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and Health Sciences Authority (HSA) continuously monitor such occurrences to eradicate the supply source and target syndicates, rather than just detaining the distributors. Their comment sheds light on the complex nature of the problem and the necessity for a comprehensive approach to address it.
It is an offence to illegally sell or supply these prescription drugs.
