A video emerged online showing a group of PRC men fighting at Geylang Lorong 20 yesterday.
A man in a red shirt was seen in the video attacking a woman wearing a black dress and appearing to pull her hair.
He then walked away from her, as another man in black came charging towards him while shouting “CHAO NI MA!!!”
The man in black then tackled the man in red onto the road, as they started fighting and wrestling on the ground.
Other passers-by stepped in to help break the fight up, as someone said “call the police!”
Potential penalties
According to Chapter 224 of the Penal Code, anyone who disturbs public peace by fighting in public is guilty of committing an affray.
Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
According to Chapter 321 of the Penal Code, anyone who performs an act that causes hurt to a person is guilty of Voluntarily Causing Hurt.
Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to 3 years and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
