A pregnant woman in Thailand has been hospitalised after she was allegedly attacked by a group of women who were reportedly seeking revenge against her boyfriend over a long-running dispute.
The 23-year-old victim claimed she suffered multiple injuries during the assault, which took place outside a café in Krabi Province earlier this month.
According to local reports, the attack lasted several minutes and involved as many as six women, leaving the victim requiring hospital treatment for nearly a week.
Group Allegedly Waited Outside Workplace
Security camera footage reportedly showed a group of women arriving near the café in a white car and remaining in the area for close to an hour before the incident unfolded.
After finishing work at around 6.48pm, the victim left the premises with several colleagues and headed towards her motorcycle.
One of the women then approached her and allegedly asked whether she knew a man identified as Chinnakorn, who is understood to be the victim’s boyfriend.
After confirming the relationship, the woman allegedly placed an arm around the victim’s neck and escorted her towards the waiting vehicle.
Moments later, another woman reportedly emerged and began physically assaulting her.
Several More Women Allegedly Joined Attack
The victim alleged that the first woman prevented her colleagues from stepping in while the assault was taking place.
Shortly afterwards, additional women arrived in a pickup truck and allegedly joined the attack.
Witnesses reported that the victim was repeatedly punched, slapped and kicked as the confrontation continued.
The violence allegedly lasted for more than five minutes before a passer-by intervened and attempted to stop the attack.
Although the group reportedly continued pursuing the victim after she broke free, friends and colleagues managed to pull her away and move her to safety.
Victim Claims Pregnancy Was Ignored
The woman later told police that she repeatedly informed her attackers that she was pregnant and begged them to stop.
However, she alleged that one of the women ignored her warnings and deliberately stomped on her stomach several times during the assault.
Following the incident, she was rushed to hospital where she remained under medical observation for five days.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed details regarding the condition of the unborn child.
The woman has since filed a police report and is urging law enforcement agencies to take firm action against those involved.
Boyfriend Believes Assault Was Revenge Attack
The victim’s boyfriend believes the attack was connected to an ongoing dispute involving several individuals he described as long-time rivals.
According to the 24-year-old man, tensions began after a disagreement over a fighting bull transaction worth approximately THB35,000, equivalent to about S$1,370.
He claimed he had intended to purchase the animal for resale, but the deal later fell apart, triggering a dispute between the parties involved.
The boyfriend further alleged that the conflict escalated significantly earlier this year and even claimed he was abducted during a separate incident in January.
As a result, he believes the group targeted his pregnant girlfriend as an act of retaliation.
Police Investigation Underway
The case has sparked widespread concern online, particularly due to allegations that the victim’s pregnancy was known to the attackers during the assault.
The woman said she fears those responsible may not face appropriate punishment and has appealed to authorities to ensure all suspects are investigated thoroughly.
Police are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
If proven, the allegations could result in serious criminal charges given the severity of the injuries claimed and the victim’s pregnancy at the time of the attack.
